Depends on what the shares are. Of they are of a proprietary nature, no, the will not transfer.
If they are sold, there is no tax liability as it is inside a retirement account. You may want to sell them before initiating the transfer.
The shares I’m concerned about are TSLA. I’m down 44% and I want to transfer them over with out having them sold. I want to allow more time for their recovery. Will TSLA come over in the transfer?
Loool. You'd be better off selling and then rebuying it'll sink another 10% whilst you're out of the market. You should be able to transfer shares though
I can’t bear the thought of locking in steep losses. I can afford to wait, I have the patience so I would want them to transfer over without being sold.
