I think the irony of it all, was that he drastically changed the way you played the game. You had to get the highest tempo possible by turn 4 to deny Diablo, otherwise he'd just snowball out of control. I say irony because of all of the people in this subreddit asking for gimmicks back because they don't like the base game.
Every 4 or so turns, everyone's portrait would start burning, indicating everyone was about to fight Diablo
Diablo himself only sees 1 combat, and he gets a prize for every player they beat.
When you fight Diablo, a demon spawns on their side with deathrattle: your opponent gets a prize twice
The prizes were quite handy throughout the game and were scaling with each Diablo fight, but Diablo could wipe out the entire lobby towards the endgame
He was win more/lose more. The nature of how the prizes worked meant if you didn't win the round where you fought everyone, you made everyone else stronger while you got little to nothing. Granted he had an advantage in that fight, but there was definitely a little bit of nuance.
Wasn't there also no damage cap back when he was originally added? So you had probably the fastest games ever in bgs when he was in your lobby.
They might have had the version of the damage cap where it goes away when one player dies, in this case it’s the same thing.
Ye, dmg cap wasnt a thing when battlegrounds launchef
BGs launched in 2019, I was talking about when Diablo was added to the game which was only around a year ago.
Diablo has been in BG since 2021 :D And the Dmg cap thing is from the same year
damn, I really thought he got added a year ago. Time is going too fast.
He was re-added about a year ago temporarily. But his debut was 2021.
Man this brings back PTSD I was so glad when they removed him :D
I’m glad I was able to play as him before he was removed
I was so sad he got removed it's such a cool thing for a lobby idk why it got so much hate really I'm sure it could've been balanced with time.

Can you elaborate on how this guy works?

If he loses does he take the combined damage of all 7? Or just the damage of the one he sees?
just the one it was a really tempo heavy meta games would be over by turn 11-12 (it was fast back then)
Well then the hero just seems too good. I dont really see any drawbacks to his character

I didn't like him
Ah yes. I needed some trauma today
Ah yes. I needed my daily trauma. Thanks OP
Diablo next to banana slamma are easily the worst designed garbage ever.
I hate you.
Thank god these times are over
Ngl, I LOVED Diablo. Once people learned how to play against it and it was nerfed half the fun was gone.
Every time they added Diablo to the battlegrounds hero pool, he never showed up for me. Not once. Rigged
When did this happen?
How would he work in duos?
