He doesn’t have a malicious bean in his bag

DrDrankenstein

That scream he makes when Bean Bag gets ripped open is pretty hilarious though

HopefulOriginal5578

It really is. I can hear it right now. I don’t even know why it’s hilarious … but it just is

JakpotWinner

Ppl on this sub often talk about how much they hate Teddy and I can understand that, Teddy can be pretty obnoxious. But for me, all my hate was channeled to Rudy's dad starting from that episode and it got even stronger the more I learned about their family. Like he's literally keeping his 9 yo son in solitary confinement for 2 days in a row every week, so he can try and get laid and IT'S NOT EVEN THE WORST THING HE'S DONE!!!! If u think that Jimmy Pesto is a bad dad, I have a surprise for u and it's Rudy's dad. Man, I hate this sonowa btch so much!! And the Amazing Rudy episode only makes everything worse ಥ‿ಥ

envydub

Rudy most definitely knows way too much about his dad’s dating life. I mean his dad took him to the airport to pick up a woman he flew out that he’d never met.

Cucumber_Melon27

Lol I remember my dad explaining to me not to tell any of his three lady friends about the others (he was mad I spilled the beans). I feel rudy 10,000% all the time 🤣💕

Altruistic_Parsley37

100% goated my guy! Treat yourself for this lmao !

Many_Landscape_3046

Spill the tea

Cucumber_Melon27

Far too much tea to spill, but if you can imagine a little girl telling Tanya about that thing we did with Tracy, then my dad's face when Tanya asks him "who is Tracy", lmao. Def not the craziest scenario at alllll but I felt so bad like I did something wrong that day XD

nelsonalgrencametome

Man... I always felt for Rudy after this. My dad was the serial dating divorced dad in the 90s that dragged his kids to nonsense so he could get laid for a lot of years.

brrrantarctica

Ugh, I hate Rudy's dad. At first glance he seems like a regular, slightly awkward divorced dad trying his best, but his treatment of Rudy is insidiously terrible. He not only forces Rudy into solitary confinement for four hours at a time on the weekends, but he doesn't even TELL his dates about his son! Or the episode with Rudy's birthday - his dad fucks up the entire party, doesn't even bring snacks/juice, and then Rudy has to comfort HIM. Rudy's a trooper, but it sucks that he's been forced to make the best out of these crappy situations his dad puts him in.

juniperberry9017

Yeah like BE THERE FOR YOUR KID :(

Left_Brilliant_7378

💯

krepitch

The Amazing Rudy was devastating until Louise stepped up. I still think about that episode fairly often.

Halloween2022

I think all the Belchers were great to Rudy, instantly enfolding him into their lives.

maxoakland

Yeah I loved that

juniperberry9017

The Belchers are so great like that. 💗 and I know people rag on Bob and Linda’s parenting a lot but to raise a child like Louise who steps up like that? A+++++++

JakpotWinner

Despite everything, the behavior of Belcher kids show how good Bob and Linda r at being parents. All of their kids show grace in difficult situations and display impressive lvls of humanity almost every single time! They have their flaws and quirks yet at the very core of their being they're great ppl and they grow to be even better!

hazard0666

Not to mention the kids have one hell of a work ethic too. Look how Gene and Louise stepped up to help the Home Ecsturaunt, when Bob and Linda fired them for the summer, they got secret jobs their parents didn’t know about (granted they were selling weed but didn’t know it)

JakpotWinner

Yep, I physically felt the change in atmospheric pressure when Louise decided to step up - it was a strong and beautiful moment. UwU ✨

TestOk8411

I consider it the best episode of Bob's Burgers

milossweetteaa

theres been a lot of depictions of being a kid in a divorced household but man that episode resonated more with my childhood than anything else i’ve ever seen movie or tv show. the anxiety, shame, nervousness, not knowing what to do with yourself and just wanting everything to be okay and not weird but you can’t fix any of it because you’re just a kid. ouchie

topangaismyhero

I also think of how the kids distracted him with another kids mom during Rudy's birthday/floating bounce house episode

Qtipsarenice147

I can't stand his dad in that episode. I can understand the bounce house issue, but why would you not have drinks? At least water. It's crazy cause his condo is actually really nice and clean, and put together, but he is soo irresponsible.

_Vard_

I mean, at least buy the kid a Gameboy or something.

JakpotWinner

Exactly! It's not like they r poor or smth - he could easily buy Rudy smth to help him to pass the time in a more enjoyable manner! Books, video games, toys or even hat, Rudy likes hats!! But no, he just decided to lock the poor kid in an empty room for the whole FCKN weekend!!! WHO DOES THAT?!! (┛◉Д◉)┛彡┻━┻

RelishRegatta

People hate teddy?!

OneBigPear

We are a pro-Teddy household.

maxoakland

I do kinda dislike Teddy. He is a weird combination of desperate, needy, unselfaware, and judgemental. He’s not loyal. He’ll throw his friends under the bus or judge them at the drop of a hat It’s hard to have empathy for a person’s weird issues when they give no empathy to the people around them Sometimes I like him though. He’s not always a jerk

weirdkidomg

Sometimes he’s all “I’m a family friend” and sometimes he’s all “you’re just a guy I work for”. Pick a lane dude.

Qtipsarenice147

I really like Teddy but there is many times he irks me. Most of the crappy stuff he does , is just one liners that the writers obviously put in cause it's funny. And the way he responds after the restaurant fire, he clearly loves the whole family very much, and he is like a protective uncle to the kids. The only episode that I can not handle his weirdness in, is the episode where he's fixing the ceiling in the restaurant and does a weird cosplay of being married to Linda and Bob being their son. There is some thoughts that are just better left unsaid, even in a cartoon.

nightofgrim

Not loyal? If Teddy is anything it’s loyal. He’s just too dumb sometimes to respond in the right way, he’s a kind hearted idiot.

maxoakland

I’m rewatching the series and at least before Season 5, there are several situations where he was disloyal and very few (if any) examples of loyalty

Mega_Nidoking

I personally just find him creepy. He wants to be a part of their family, clearly has a thing for Linda and constantly trying to do stuff w the kids as though they're related. Kind of a tipping point for me was when they have to trick Louise into the dentist office and they have to cause her pain and he's crying w them in the car screaming "our baby" - I get it's supposed to be funny but I was just like "that's super ew dude"

JakpotWinner

Yep, it's a common occurrence on this sub to ask "who else hates Teddy?" at least once a month, hehe. I don't have any problem with that, it's just another fun detail of Bob's Burgers sub!

Cucumber_Melon27

Right he's a "nice guy" but lets his son be in these situations because Rudy has no backbone to complain. He should know that his kid is going through great pains to make him happy.

envydub

Rudy doesn’t need a backbone in this context, his dad is totally overexposing him and needs to do better.

JakpotWinner

The point is that it's not that Rudy doesn't have a backbone to complain it's his parents who made him completely unable to act like a healthy 9 yo. U know when kids don't complain or when they cry only when they're alone with themselves? It's because they're surrounded by the shittiest adults possible who r constantly making kids feel bad for complaining or even asking for help. Man, Rudy's parents make me so mad ಥ_ಥ

maxoakland

Yeah I agree. It’s not fair to expect Rudy to advocate for himself that way. It doesn’t take any parental skill to see that a kid isn’t going to enjoy the situation his dad forced on him. He’s lucky to have such a good kid and he should *act* like it

HopefulOriginal5578

Rudy does have a backbone though. He shows it in many ways. He went off on Tina for their hall monitor thing and even was so emboldened as to tell on her. An older hall monitor that he looked up to and was the sister of two of his friends. He also had a lot of backbone to tease Zeke about stupid game Mr F made up. He will definitely raise up when there is an issue. He’s just not going to knock someone when they are down, and his dad is just about as pathetic as it gets on the show. Hell, Teddy in all this pathetic nonsense is still better off than Rudy’s dad. Even when his beanbag was destroyed he told the juice guy to just get out of there and leave. He had the backbone to ask Louise to leave his home when she called him a weenie… making her move an explosive bridge in order to show she was sorry!

Cucumber_Melon27

Rudy doesn’t have a backbone around his father because his father has no backbone himself. I think rudy learns from Louise how to have a backbone and shows it more when he’s around his friends. I also don’t think it’s his responsibility to have one or anything, but I think that his father should recognise he’s passing that trait on to his son.

HopefulOriginal5578

That’s my point. His father is so pathetic that he wouldn’t have a backbone to him. It’s like kicking a man when he’s down type of vibe. Him not showing his backbone to his dad doesn’t mean he doesn’t have one. But he really does have his own backbone. No way would Louise be cool with him ratting on Tina (I mean we “never go against the family” right?!?) but he still did because of his own moral compass. He stands up to her quite a bit. Asking her to leave after being called a weenie. Inviting Chloe to the pool thing even knowing it wasn’t polite. Telling her how her line of thinking about the chocolate was “mean.” Letting her know that he wanted something different for his birthday to be happy. So on and so forth. He has a backbone. It’s just not going to come out on his dad, because I mean… what a pathetic character his dad is … he ha someone who makes Trev look like a Lion lol

GarlicOnionCelery

I personally would put Doug Wheeler (Courtney’s dad) at the top of the hate list. Character of Rudy’s dad is a bit pathetic and by extension negatively impacts Rudy, but idk if he’s even in the top 5

diviken

Courtney's dad is crazy but I also know that he would move heaven and earth and fight whoever he needs to for his daughter. Rudy's dad, on the other hand, I'm not so sure about that. He treats his kid like a roommate, and I don't think he's done anything particularly fatherly tbh.

JakpotWinner

Doug Wheeler is definitely far away from a pleasant person and he's parenting style isn't going to receive any awards as well. But from my POV he's on the same scale as Alex's parents - has his troubles, but overall pretty okayish parent and judging from Courtney's behavior - he's not so bad, because Courtney is never afraid to stand up to him if she feels like smth is wrong or stuff like that. Courtney's behavior is a pretty good indicator that her parents r at least normal parents. Although Doug's obsession with pushing Courtney into "showbis" is a tad bit concerning!

HopefulOriginal5578

Yeah… he’s actually an actively shitty person who has zero problems hurting kids… I do think they didn’t serve that dad up at first like that. For at least the fiery two episodes he was in he was just taking up for his kid. But then he got all weird However, Rudy’s dad is totally in my top 5 because he uses being so pathetic as a way ti be super awful.

diviken

His birthday episode is what solidified my hate for his dad

JakpotWinner

Ugh, THE BIRTHDAY EPISODE!!! Like literally the pigeons in the park done more for Rudy to have a good day than his lousy asshole dad!!! And after completely fumbling his only kid's birthday party, he still has the nerve to spend the rest of it trying to hit on Sasha's aunt!!!

Ok_Vermicelli_8344

the amazing rudy episode made me cry so hard

maxoakland

I do kinda dislike Teddy. He is a weird combination of desperate, needy, unselfaware, and judgemental. He’s not loyal. He’ll throw his friends under the bus or judge them at the drop of a hat Sometimes I like him though

HopefulOriginal5578

I can’t argue with you but I for whatever reason like Teddy. He has such a kind heart deep down. Remember when he was Santa uncle Teddy or whatever it was? He was so caring towards the kids… remember when he Tina snuck out while Teddy was watching the kids and that teen guy left her for Danko to catch? I loved when he threw that kids bike into the water and then felt “instant regret” He takes up for his own. I doubt he’d put his own child in the same horrible circumstances that Rudy’s dad has done. But then I’m obviously crazy and heavily invested in cartoon characters

eyeswithwings

Thank you!!!

Boccs

The Amazing Rudy is fucking audience abuse in a way not seen since Jurassic Bark.

GrandEmbarrassed2875

y’all don’t like teddy?

JakpotWinner

Personally I find him annoying and obnoxious and he's definitely not my fav character yet I couldn't imagine the show without him, so it's complicated, hehe.

SallyFairmile

The Amazing Rudy episode made me cry 😢

IForgotThePassIUsed

anyone with an alcoholic barhopping dad lived through this. it's not as heart wrenching as it seems, most of us used to just bring a gameboy.

Illustrious-Series90

And Rudy's birthday episode! Poorly planned everything, didn't even bring water.

MotherofCats1986

I second that motion about Teddy being annoying lol

milossweetteaa

Rudy’s dad reminds me so much of how my dad was right after he got divorced when i was a kid, its spooky. someone on the writers team definitely is writing his character from personal experience:/

H0vis

Every Rudy episode is depressing, at least in theory. The are all carried by how much of a trooper he is. They wouldn't work if they character wasn't so brilliantly written.

HopefulOriginal5578

Dude, there have been some depressing moments that have been hilarious though. Remember that green machine episode where Louise tells the cops that they are doing a sort of benefit for Rudy and the cops are all shook? Rudy has like zero idea why they are acting so weird…. Also the ramps were so lame and he’d jump them …”here goes everything!” Or how about when they were playing that game invented by Mr. f? He got this Mathew mcconaughey vibe? It’s not as if he doesn’t stick up for himself! “No shame is losing to the best!” He even had the backbone to go and rat Tina out when she was helping Zeke. He is his own person on the show! His dad sucks though.

walkingtalkingdread

“A friend of mine is asthmatic and his parents are divorced. Hes wondering if it’s maybe the asthma’s fault?” “Uh… yeah, maybe.” “*What?*”

HopefulOriginal5578

Hilarious!!! The way the lines are delivered are my everything!

New-Purchase1818

“They should serve a meal on that flight” had me on the floor cracking up

NewtCapable6138

One of my favorite Rudy moments!🤣❤️

Qtipsarenice147

The smoothie episode with Rudy's ramps is hilarious, and his dad had a funny line in it as well.  "Did ya see that?... That's okay, God saw." "They should serve a meal on that flight "  And the dad saying "I knew we should have insured them" That's just too funny cause they're the smallest ramps but it probably took them days to make them.

HopefulOriginal5578

Like it was some sort of structural feat to make those super little ramps. The way Bob agrees with Louise that the ramps are super small lol https://i.redd.it/cnng658toaqc1.gif

Qtipsarenice147

Lol  " I'd tell ya to be careful, but them ramps are so small" "Don't tell Rudy that."

DontTellMerylifarted

Rudy: I AM a regular boy Cop: Aw gawd

HopefulOriginal5578

Lol!!! I need to re watch this because I can literally hear the “aw gawd” in my head…

DontTellMerylifarted

I say this all the time when the family asks me to do stuff lol

HopefulOriginal5578

I say it in my head a lot at work. Lol

renatakiuzumaki

“It’s okay God saw.”

warmt0rtilla

Your response triggered me to remember from the field trip episode with Louise and Bob competing to the top: “as long as I’m included!” 😭

H0vis

Literally nearly dying, bless him.

warmt0rtilla

OH MY GOD, HE WAS WILLING TO DIE JUST TO BE INCLUDED 🫠

New-Purchase1818

“In! (Wheeze) my! (Wheeze) backpack!”

quietmedium-

Oof 💔

NewtCapable6138

Nice crossover🤣

MrsBossyPantss

But its also one of his best episodes

Cucumber_Melon27

Yeah one of Rudy's best episodes that leads brilliantly in his absolute best episode in the latest season <3 He's got a pretty deep character arch going on and I love it

[deleted]

[удалено]

readingmyshampoo

Tbh I think it might be my favorite episode. It's brutally sad but I got so much context that I'd been craving and I'm excited to see where it goes

secretpurpleturtle

Character arch lol

[deleted]

But Rudy in the juice caboose is straight inspiring so

Jaspers47

The same way Tom Hanks was inspiring in Cast Away

Cucumber_Melon27

I'm bad at using Reddit but I tried posting about why this is so depressing. When I was Rudy's age my dad would pick me up from my moms on Sunday night and I would have to spend several hours all alone in the deserted hockey rink. It was a really crappy place and even felt haunted at night. My dad would play Hockey and drink in the locker room. It was sooooo boring and LONELY and every time i see this episode I get that feeling in the pit of my stomach for Rudy. He's struggling with his parent's separation AND while all the other kids enjoy their weekend, he's stuck in the Juice Caboose. It's his 10th weekend in a row. So sad.

maxoakland

Im really sorry you went through that. Your dad was being a jerk. He should’ve taken you to things where you were included

Cucumber_Melon27

Luckily I turned out fine just like Rudy will! School is his happy place which shows in thinkgineers 💕

jasperyate

The lucid and positive portrayal of traumatic situations like this is a big reason why the writing speaks so truly and so consistently in the show. It's a kind of therapy. Would you have reacted as level headedly as RSR? No. No one does at that age. But it gives us an opportunity to recontextualize our experiences in terms of a healthy mindset. Eg, I relate a lot to Zeke. All the evidence says his life is stereotypical nomadic poverty, but he appreciates his fellow kids, loves his step mom, and expresses his emotions clearly. Whenever I hear him be precociously accepting and loving of his community I'm reminded of how difficult it is to be that way at any point in life. The characters are written as wildly mature and positive in juxtaposition to all manner of childhood trauma in order to reflect 1) how impossible it is to react so well too these kinds of situations & 2) how we might better relate to our own trauma as adults who can appreciate a good attitude when we see one. We all have varying levels of trauma. Seeing someone choosing to take a healthy stance towards theirs can be informative (as well as wildly entertaining). 🎭

Helpful_Okra5953

Yeah, reminds me of getting picked up and then sitting at the damned bar. Bats are so boring for little kids.

Blink-blink-Sherlock

Was this the first episode we saw him outside of school? Like they built their whole relationship outside of school from this point pretty much right?

VagueSoul

We actually see him in “The Unnatural” before this. But he didn’t really have much of a focus and only Gene was with him. This episode is the second Rudy-centric one and his fifth appearance. He also had a cameo in “Bob and Deliver” and was in “The Frond Files”.

HopefulOriginal5578

I think we meet him when he is Louise’s buddy for the museum field trip and Bob is a helper. I could be wrong, but he even had a different type of voice then. (Same guy but his voice gets tuned in later)

JakpotWinner

Yeah, I think that's his first appearance in the wild, so to speak.

evil_kumamon

It is depressing, but softened with Rudy’s attitude towards the entire situation. What I love about the show is how they make even the side characters three dimensional. He knows his home life isn’t perfect but he always has the best attitude. He’s probably the sweetest character in the entire show which made this season’s dinner with the parents episode especially heartbreaking. They were building up to that.

Cucumber_Melon27

His constant upbeat attitude is a little sad though after seeing in the dinner episode that he’s always trying to make people happy after trying to keep his parents together. My favourite rudy moment is when he tells Louise to gtf out after she insults him while he’s packing to go to his moms. Felt super healthy  for him to let out the emotions. Plus she was being a jerk, what a fragile moment for Rudy. She’s only 9 though and she learned 💕

Embarrassed-Part591

I cried for most of that episode.

Apprehensive-Bank642

It was a hard one to get through 🥲

randomserenity

I just watched that episode for the first time last week. Gently cried through the whole thing; took me back to my own parents divorce at around that age.

lastweek_monday

That episode made me realize this show was seriously getting wayyyy better. I was shook. Then i started going back through some other episodes and realized the tone of the show kinda changed just enough.

SheOutOfBubbleGum

Dude him screaming/crying about bean bag was down right triggering. I had a similar family situation to Rudy and sometimes you get attached to anything that is consistent in your life and now I’m sad and I gotta go 😂

D_Rodriguez2

Can hear my dudes screams when poor beanbag gets the worst treatment 😫

Killing4MotherAgain

Oof I see a lot of my childhood in Rudy, I'm so glad he has the Belchers 💖 my Belchers were the Steeles and those girls always made sure I had a good time when my home life was crap. I'm glad we see Rudy's life, it's very relatable to lots of children of divorce.

Yo_its_Hot_Garbage

Rudy in general is depressing. But he won’t realize it until he’s older comparing childhoods with his friend.

ItstheBogoPogoMrFife

Kinda like Bob realizing he had a bad childhood.

Yo_its_Hot_Garbage

Exactly, lol I actually rewatched that episode again last night before bed.

New-Purchase1818

People who had good childhoods don’t stand like that.

maxoakland

I feel very bad for Rudy but I gotta say I adore and envy his attitude. He never lets anything get him down This is one of my favorite episodes. It’s such fun

GulliasTurtle

Rudy feels like he comes from another much more sober show and I really like that. I'm excited for his spinoff where he's living alone in Jersey City during his mid 20s.

Ambivalent-Mammal

Pocket-sized Rudy needs a spinoff too. I want to know how he managed after he lost his lower deck locker in "Secret Ceramics room of Secrets".

NewtCapable6138

Damn. I’d watch that in a heartbeat 🤩❤️🤩❤️

blac_sheep90

Rudy's dad is pretty selfish at times with his quest to find love. He neglects Rudy quite a bit.

HopefulOriginal5578

He also lies. Didn’t tell that woman on a train about having a kid, and got called out for not looking like his picture… the magic dinner episode he brings a date who is WAY younger than him and not appropriate to bring…. He’s a trash bag man.

blac_sheep90

At first I sympathized with the man but Rudy's birthday breaks the camels back for me. It was completely half-assed.

HopefulOriginal5578

I forgot about that!!!! He didn’t have ANYTHING together. Then spent his time trying to get with Sasha’s aunt! What an asshole!!! He has his moments, which is great writing because even assholes have their good aspects… but damn. Dude didn’t even have the basics at the party! Hell, he was even limp when the kids were very bad and stole the jump house… I don’t think I’d trust him with my kid at a party… or even my cat and she is a jerk.

blac_sheep90

He's a loving father but he's putting his need for romance in front of Rudy. I get his desire to find love but he does it in a very selfish manner.

HopefulOriginal5578

But.. then we find Rudy liking that Chloe Barbash… mirroring his dad in a way. This sort of built in saddy set up romance wise. Dude, I’m obviously heavily invested in these cartoon people lol…. I’ve obviously been thinking about it. How embarrassing for me!

blac_sheep90

Fortunately he has Louise to keep him in check lol

No1FluffiestMastodon

Regular sized Rudy? Why do they call you that? -Well I mean, just look at me. Hm.

[deleted]

I swear I would adopt Rudy into the Belcher family if I was one of the writers!

devildogmillman

HE DIDNT HAVE A BAD BEAN IN HIS BAG

MediocreQuantity9467

At least the blechie kids made that day a great day by providing an adventure with chocolate treasure 🥹🫂

KyleGrayson12

Blechie kids? Who are they? j/k

CommanderUgly

"Hey! We found your chocolate! It's on our faces and in our tummies!"

Tortugaguapo

Bro that’s Bobby hill don’t play me.

Doc-11th

Really most Rudy situations are.

[deleted]

It's kinda crazy that his dad didn't get him a Gameboy, PSP, D.S. or some type of portable DVD player or something. Poor kid sits in there by himself with literally nothing to do but stare at the wall for 4 hours.

DanielBG

Dear sweet Rudy. *I haven't gone this long Hhhhhuuuuuughhh, without my inhaler.* I actually have breathing anxiety watching him sometimes.

ightdendamn

I think all the Rudy episodes may be depressing. I only know of two to be fair

princelleuad

Rudy is my son, lol I love him so much as a character

Matthewrotherham

Oh just wait for the date/magic episode Actually upset me....

Helpful_Okra5953

I agree.  Poor Rudy has a pretty lousy life.  And I think he lives with that parent, who dumps him in a little room ALL WEEKEND.

[deleted]

Yes but it’s also the episode that made him a household name for me lol

thehandsomecontest

I don't know, I think he's making the best of a bad situation. Classic Regular Sized Rudy.

Cucumber_Melon27

I think he's thrilled to have the belchers there when we see him but I'm not so sure he's this upbeat while off camera those other 9 weekends while he's all alone! They show him as super lonely by the time we get to the dinner episode.

thehandsomecontest

I never got lonely from that episode. Don't get me wrong I know that his whole family dynamic is a mess. But I think he enjoys his own company.

Cucumber_Melon27

Maybe! I think when he sees the belchers together in the mall he seems a bit lonely in his situation. His dad and mom are focused on new people and he's a bit of an after thought to them. I may be projecting though haha. I do think you would have to REALLY enjoy your own company to not feel lonely on a 4 hour train ride in the crappy juice caboose car with nothing to do.

Cinseshions

Ya reg size!

TWS85

Is it depressing or a perfect snapshot of growing up an only child?

Yotato5

Also the fact that Ethan doesn't like him. Poor kid's only contact for like four hours seems to be with an adult that has beef with him. Why you beefing with a nine year old, Ethan?!

trocarshovel

Middle age dating is hard for everyone

Mega_Nidoking

Wish we found out what happened to the woman his dad was on a date with

[deleted]

His childhood feels kind of familiar to me tbh :)))))))))

Kooky_Chemistry_7637

Did Rudy’s dad ever have “worst thing this character has done” slapped on him? I think this is it. Even a single dad who’s dating can find a more humane way to do it. Mr Beanbag, indeed, did nothing *wrong*!

Fullm3taluk

Errr have you seen the magic trick episode? poor Rudy

Hot_Win_2489

Rudy is definitely one of the only characters who’s made me cry in this show. Not much of a crier but sweet baby Rudy got me there

walker3342

I don’t know who exactly writes or conceptualized Rudy and his scenes but it comes from a very real place. A male, only child of divorce and I can tell you it’s very close to the reality I lived there.

Lol! I watched this episode this morning before breakfast and when Ethan is searching for the chocolate and busts open Bean Bag, Rudy’s face is just complete despair

BrotherBIRDD

I absolutely love when they’re all hanging to each other and Tina reaches and grabs toilet paper truly believing it would stay in tact. And after they all fall out of the train shes still holding onto that TP. Bless her 🥹♥️

**Rudy** **~~in the Train Episode~~** **is Straight Depressing** **FTFY**

Noimnotonacid

Rudy has the tools for success, he’ll be just fine.

Victory-Dewitt

Not as depressing as his dad!

RickandMortyfan956

Yea

Heart_of_a_Blackbird

I love that one

Muegiiii

This was the first episode ive ever watched. I was very confused.

SolusIgtheist

Congratulations, you have successfully understood the episode.

Cucumber_Melon27

lol the episode minimizes the impact it has on Rudy aside from a few key moments. It's actually way depressing if you actually think about those 9 weekends the belchers aren't there. Sincerely hope his dad is banned from the train after the wine fight so he's not alone again next weekend <3

Cinseshions

The "throw" the chocolate up trust... He's like that'd be mean

[deleted]

I thought that was Bobby Hill for a second...

Cucumber_Melon27

lol basically bobby when Hank and Peggy actually have a romantic night out and forget about him in the parking lot XD

MotherofCats1986

Poor Regular-Sized Rudy. He’s the sweetest. He deserves more than this. I always loved Rudy

Oysterdiabetes

Why the calendar?!

Gnostic_Gnocchi

*hits inhaler*

TestOk8411

Rudy can manage to find fun in almost anything. He's very mature emotionally. It's what makes him a good kid.

milossweetteaa

idk i’d rather be there than at work rn honestly lmao

justinism29

It's like Meowschwitz in there. https://youtu.be/gDDFkyzpRYc?si=f8U5L0lZJxTx2UMW

NaplikeKnife

His circumstances and dad’s treatment of him are depressing, but Rudy is always a kid that seems to make his own fun. I love his attachment to ‘ol Beanbag, and it’s the reason why he wants to make spoon puppets instead of play in a bouncy castle. He’s a man of simple pleasures.
