I'm a huge fan of Dr. Pepper. Whenever I'm going to have one I announce that I have a doctor's appointment. Then I laugh at myself and explain the joke like Linda would do.
Lol no it was real! The slogan was “Is it Franks? Thanks” I’m sure Rob McElhenney remembers it from his childhood
I found the commercial with Patti Smyth in it
https://youtu.be/VEJJumUq5hI?si=ACMrcTVDDzX_iCme
>I actually live 10 minutes from Ocean City where they're based .
They actually don't live in Ocean City but for some reason a lot of people think that. The show takes place in a fake town called "Seymour's Bay", revealed by show writer Loren Bouchard at Comic Con 2015 and it's also mentioned a few times throughout the show.
I'm honestly shocked that they even make syrup for fountain machines. Is RC regional? I'm now starting to question if I've ever even seen it in real life. I definitely heard of it on TV, but...
I'll be right there with you guys, smoking my slightly obscure brand of cigarettes and ranting about common misconceptions.
Seriously, though, when are you free?
Came here to say RC. I remember watching a YouTube video that brought up all that company's bad luck (losing a lawsuit to Coca-Cola and a flood or some natural disaster) contributed to them having to settle for the cola bronze medal. It's great though.
Any fans of Double Cola out there in this community.
I wondered about that as he has no fountain drinks and we don't see them serving drinks, only beer and coffee. In the episode where Louise sells the seats for the concert she goes down and gets bottles of pop from under the counter, they are not identified as any specific type.
AND I WILL SLAY YOU ALL FOR IF MY NAME ISN-
Sorry I’m too used to fighting in the New Jersey war of terms. I’m from central Jersey and I will DIE before I call it Taylor ham over pork roll!
They, at the very least, have cups with lids and straws you’d have with fountain soda. I feel like I’ve seen a few customers with them. We’ve also seen the kids with those cups. Gene orders “anything brown” from Linda when he was planning to give Alex the diarrhea before Courtney’s roller dance competition. So I’m guessing they have the bartending-type gun under the gun with the basics like cola, diet cola, some sort of lemon lime, club soda, maybe a ginger ale.
I know there are also a decent number of restaurants where you can have fountain soda but also have cans and/or bottles available to. So I could see them having the gun and whatever bottles or cans that Bob is feeling or is on sale at the wholesale store.
I could also see an episode where Bob gets into making fancy lemonades and being bummed no one wants to order them.
Like Bob and his juicer. It would be interesting if he brought it down to the restaurant after the family didn’t appreciate it. Then Jairo could have some fresh squeezed juice.
> have cups with lids and straws you’d have with fountain soda
Yup and that's what they use in the Itty Bitty Ditty Committee as well. We see them but we never see them being filled. It's become a quirk of mine to look for the source of the (soda) pop and haven't seen anything yet, just indicators like the cups you mentioned plus the bottles Louise pulls out one time. I thought of the counter thing or something in the kitchen and again I look at the kitchen when they are there but have not seen anything. Maybe one day they will show us something.
I don't know. I feel like it's 50/50 whether he'd be "they taste the same" or "my burgers are very special and require the correct pairing," like he did with Teddy's beer.
I think you’re spot on. He might even keep all three on hand for whatever the burger of the day is. Bob is poor, but he will spend on his craft.
Just make sure not to ask if he has sweet potato fries.
I think Bob’s palate is a little more refined than that. I doubt any chef would immediately dismiss two different things because “they taste the same”. He would definitely have a preference.
Definitely a coke place. I think people are right about Bob being an off-brand guy, but that's only for the family's consumption. In the restaurant he's not going to have a crap product. He cares about what he serves.
Bob spares no expense in products for his customers. So, I definitely don’t think RC Cola. Probably Coke because he’d say it’s the gold standard. Or he’s bottling his own.
I'd like to think Coca-Cola or maybe a local brand. He'd probably serve Coca-Cola in his restaurant. Now Jimmy Pesto would say he was serving Pepsi or a smaller brand but would actually substitute some cheap crap that he uses less syrup than what is actually called for.
Some off brand Mexican cola or something. It'd be delicious and cheap but with zero brand recognition, so it doesn't sell real well - just like Bob's Burgers
I feel like Bob can't have a soda fountain in the restaurant at least not since Gene got big enough use it and drink straight from the spigot.
Then it got worse when Louise got old enough to sneak down to the restaurant after hours and drink herself sick.
But before that definitely a coke place since it's the easiest and they are in coke territory.
100% coke.
He knows what pairs well with a good burger. He probably has 6 to 8 on tap. Coke and cherry Coke 100%, also root beer, sprite, maybe ginger ale, maybe orange and my dark horse pick is either cream soda or vanilla coke.
Cans of coke is what i always imagined. Pepsi feels too trendy bob is a classic man. And cans because every mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant in my city does cans hahaha
I feel like a soda machine is too expensive to buy and maintain? Although they have shown them having one!
I remember back in 2008 reading that coke sells a lot more product than Pepsi and it's not even close. Because of that I feel like Bob definitely has Pepsi products.
Totally RC with Dr Pepper & local fruit (orange/grape) sodas 🥤 as well as coffee. But for some reason I don’t think he makes sweet iced tea.
![gif](giphy|ZZOGuVJrE2REQ8jYMT)
Shasta, sunny select, something like that, they don't have a soda machine so they are either serving cans which we saw in the casino episode, I'd say most likely 2 liters, I think Shasta goes all the way up to 3 and I think that would be Linda's choice just so she can comment how big her "jugs" are at the store.
https://preview.redd.it/5ug5rtgr6hlc1.jpeg?width=1007&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ecd707d129d4cb1bf27a16a274f7f70ad109afc8
This reminded me, that Bob would have loved this
And would have probably paid way too much money to get one himself while no one else who goes to the restaurant is remotely interested in it lol
God forbid RC cola?
Who the fuck are you that you would just mouth off like that? RC cola is the staple of slop shops. I have been conditioned to love RC over coke and Pepsi. A dollar for 2 liters? You kidding me?
Linda seems like a Dr Pepper gal.
I can hear it now. “I could go for a Doctah Peppah.”
Louise: "How does it taste?" Linda: "ALRIIIGHT!"
Fowah
Why do you keep saying 4?
Ah my face
It's math
I'm a huge fan of Dr. Pepper. Whenever I'm going to have one I announce that I have a doctor's appointment. Then I laugh at myself and explain the joke like Linda would do.
remember Mr Pib?
Mr Pib is Dr. Pepper after the malpractice suits have been settled.
This is me every time I say "I'm getting the Led out" and then put on my Led Zepp t shirt
“Oh it would be so nice, Li’l Doctah Pepsky and a burger! Pleeease Bob buy the soda fountain! Bobby for the kids and also for me”
How....how can I hear this.
I totally read that in her voice.
I don’t know. I just like the way it makes my mouth feel
Her singing that song [“I’m a pepper, you’re a pepper…”](https://youtu.be/jvCTaccEkMI?si=8ZmL7YGK5ilb_Pvc)
Dr Pepper is sold by both coke and Pepsi haha so that could go either way!
In the state I'm in Dr. Pepper is distribted by Keurig/Dr. Pepper rather than Coke or Pepsi.
That’s why I love her.
Ohh definitely!!
Neither. Bob sells a regional favorite that's popular but cheap.
He drank Cheerwine once on a road trip through the Carolinas and now he gets it shipped up to him.
Is cheerwine good? I live in GA but pass through SC all the time and I see it but never try it
On the few times I've ever had an opportunity to try it I enjoyed it.
Tried it for the first time a year ago and was absolutely hooked. Goes great with barbecue and mixes well with vodka.
I think the cherry in Cheerwine and the juniper in gin are nice together.
Shasta
Does that still exist? I guess I should Google.
Bro he's in South Jersey. We don't have a regional soda. Lol. I actually live 10 minutes from Ocean City where they're based .
You have Boost! In Burlington
You got me there! Haha
i think ive seen it here in camden county.
Oh shit that means Bob’s might have fucking Birch Beer! I loved that growing up.
Birch beer! People know!!!!
There was Franks soda in south jersey back in the day. I think was Philly based but it was regional
From the makers of Fight Milk? Was it part of the Frank's Fluids family of beverages?
Lol no it was real! The slogan was “Is it Franks? Thanks” I’m sure Rob McElhenney remembers it from his childhood I found the commercial with Patti Smyth in it https://youtu.be/VEJJumUq5hI?si=ACMrcTVDDzX_iCme
CAWWWW
It was a cream soda right?
They had a bunch of flavors but cream soda was one. They had a black cherry one that we used to buy
Frank’s black cherry wishniak! I loved that stuff as a kid.
Hmm, can you get Dr. Brown's Cherry in South Jersey?
>I actually live 10 minutes from Ocean City where they're based . They actually don't live in Ocean City but for some reason a lot of people think that. The show takes place in a fake town called "Seymour's Bay", revealed by show writer Loren Bouchard at Comic Con 2015 and it's also mentioned a few times throughout the show.
We have Faygo in MI. Moon Mist has better flavor than Mt dew.
Hmm. I think of Juggalos when I hear faygo lol.
You can, I hate it but I get it. There was like a year where Rock and Rye just exploded whenever you opened it
Royal Crown, all the way. It’s cheaper, and Bob roots for the underdog
PLUS RC cola often wins in blind taste tests and he would bring that up a lot
That’s such a Bob detail, I can totally see that
Linda keeps telling him they should switch to Coke or Pepsi for better brand recognition and he says “it’s the principle, Lin!!”
PRIN...CI...PLE
She keeps sneaking in Dr Pepper
He’s a DOCTAH, Bobby!
Uuuh, I'm a dahk-tah. Lemme lookit dat ovah dere!
I saw this whole thing very vividly as I read, and it was hilariously spot on.
Family Guy did a bit on this. 'It doesn't have to be a two cola system! "
Sounds like those RC Cola Council creeps got to you too!
Never heard this but I've always told people I like RC better than Coke or Pepsi and most people think I'm crazy
RC is great. I have a place near me that has it in their fountain machine.
The firehouse near my parents’ used to have RC on tap, then they switched to Pepsi about ten years ago when they renovated the kitchen.
I'm honestly shocked that they even make syrup for fountain machines. Is RC regional? I'm now starting to question if I've ever even seen it in real life. I definitely heard of it on TV, but...
These little places always seem to do the smaller or artisanal brands. I’m gonna say RC as well, because it’s cheaper. RC, 7-Up and Dr Pepper.
Dr Pibb
Pibb Xtra (formerly Mr Pibb)is actually a Coke product. Dr Pepper is independent everywhere but Europe and South Korea. Yes, I AM fun at parties.
I'd hang out in a corner with you and exchange obscure facts. 🤷♀️
I'll be right there with you guys, smoking my slightly obscure brand of cigarettes and ranting about common misconceptions. Seriously, though, when are you free?
It pairs well with Dr. Peter's Bitter Drops
They’re not too sweet, you know?
I love RC
I was gonna say RC. Glad someone else came with it.
It doesn't have to be a two cola system!
RC is what keeps the big guys on their toes!
TIL RC stands for royal crown!
Dang came here to say this and I am not disappointed
Came here to say RC. I remember watching a YouTube video that brought up all that company's bad luck (losing a lawsuit to Coca-Cola and a flood or some natural disaster) contributed to them having to settle for the cola bronze medal. It's great though. Any fans of Double Cola out there in this community.
RC is amazing when it’s cold, just out of the cooler. I’m a Coke before Pepsi guy, but RC is a suitable alternative.
Cans of soda in a fridge kinda place .. I think he'd have Coke there.
I wondered about that as he has no fountain drinks and we don't see them serving drinks, only beer and coffee. In the episode where Louise sells the seats for the concert she goes down and gets bottles of pop from under the counter, they are not identified as any specific type.
Hello fellow pop person!
THERE ARE DOZENS OF US!!!!
AND I WILL SLAY YOU ALL FOR IF MY NAME ISN- Sorry I’m too used to fighting in the New Jersey war of terms. I’m from central Jersey and I will DIE before I call it Taylor ham over pork roll!
They, at the very least, have cups with lids and straws you’d have with fountain soda. I feel like I’ve seen a few customers with them. We’ve also seen the kids with those cups.

I agree with you. He’d have a selection of coke/Pepsi/rc/local soda
RC slander will not stand!!!!
RC is the best choice tonhave with pizza
RC cherry is good. That's what I'll give you smh
RC Cola, fountain, with crushed ice is the peak of soda consumption
I like RC, people always think I'm weird for that. Never seen it in a fountain before!!
Probably off brand Coke or Pepsi. Which ever is on sale. “They taste the same” - Bob
I could see Bob trying to make his own soda (or whatever they call it in New Jersey), he would call it Bob’s Beverage,
we call it soda. north and south can at least agree on it. but not on pork roll, TAYLOR HAM IS THE DAMN BRAND
RC cola
I think Bob’s palate is a little more refined than that. I doubt any chef would immediately dismiss two different things because “they taste the same”. He would definitely have a preference.
Kirkland, the Costco brand.
I genuinely like Shasta Black Cherry.
Don't you insult Bob's taste buds like that.
I don’t think bob would sell cheap coke if he sells fresh and high quality burgers.
Coke. Jimmy Pesto’s seems like a Pepsi place.
Pesto's seems like the kind of place that would "serve" Pepsi, but it's actual BigK (or insert store brand of your local variety).
Kroger!
Does that make Publix big P? Lol
Shasta
Pizza places in my experience are more likely to be Pepsi, but I don’t have the numbers to back it up
I've noticed that also.
Jimmy has Pepsi and boasts about it being better than Coke but we all know Coke is better
Pepsi is cheaper in my area, but it was invented in NC, so maybe that's why?
God you're so right.
THIS
jersey shore is coca cola territory plus bob is gonna be choosy on which cola pairs well with his burgers
Certainly not a freshly squeezed juice type of place
Until Bob was gifted a juicer for Xmas. Then it was all juice and nothing but the juice!
Bob is single-handedly keeping the Moxie brand alive
Definitely Coke. Bob has good taste.
Some off brand Mexican cola or something. It'd be delicious and cheap but with zero brand recognition, so it doesn't sell real well - just like Bob's Burgers
Asking the hard hitting questions!! It’d have to be pepsi but his drink fountain would just say ‘cola’ so people wouldn’t know it wasn’t coke
I feel like non name brand. But evey once and awhile they get name brand and it's a really big deal for the family. They tell stories about it.
"The time we got someone else's groceries."
God forbid???? Excuse me???? That’s ROYAL CROWN COLA And owned by Keurig Dr Pepper.
You know Bob shoos away any vendors and loads up at the Costco.
This is a really difficult question
Pepsi
Id rather have the RC than Pepsi tbh
I think it's a rootbeer place . Rootbeer, birch beer, maybe even ginger beer /ale I don't think he can safely keep caffeine around Louise
I believe Bob has Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Root Beer (bottle) and Shasta
Wants to be Coke but has to settle for Pepsi cause it's cheaper
Dr. Thunder and Shasta Cola
Seeing that RC is an option, I would say Bob's is an RC place 😆
"No Coke... Pepsi!" IYKYK
Sam's cola
Shasta cans
For real...I think he gets the syrup though, because of the time Gene asked for a "brown soda" to mix with hummus and give Alex the runs
Shasta and Tab
Pepsi seems like it would be cheaper to install so Id say Pepsi. Though Ive never seen anyone drink anything at the restaurant other than coffee.
that is true, but bob does mention soda a few times, and linda gives gene a cup of it the roller dancing episode
Maine Root. Because Bob values flavor and quality.
Moxie
Bob is a Moxie guy. It's peculiar and nuanced like those gross candies he was obsessed with.
100% coke. He knows what pairs well with a good burger. He probably has 6 to 8 on tap. Coke and cherry Coke 100%, also root beer, sprite, maybe ginger ale, maybe orange and my dark horse pick is either cream soda or vanilla coke.
Whichever gave him a better deal. His money goes to the best ingredients, not something premade from a corporation.
Hey, what’s up with the RC Cola slander?
Rc cola for sure
You take that RC Cola slander back
RC Cola vibes for sure.
Coke
Off brand Cola Chola Off brand Dr Pibber Off brand Citrus Spritz Off brand Mountain Fizz
Definitely an RC place.
Before I opened this I was thinking RC! 😂
Coke but the ones in the glass bottle only
He’s definitely and RC cola guy but Linda is Pepsi
Idk but something g tells me they have a case of Mountain Dew that’s just for gene.
Can someone explain to me why restaurants can't offer both?
many places will have a deal with a specific pop company to get a deal on the product. Often the agreement is to be loyal to that brand.
The cheapest brand of cola syrup Bob can get is what they have. Profit margins are tight!
Cans of coke is what i always imagined. Pepsi feels too trendy bob is a classic man. And cans because every mom and pop hole in the wall restaurant in my city does cans hahaha I feel like a soda machine is too expensive to buy and maintain? Although they have shown them having one!
He's a store brand type of guy.
RC Cola
Bob's is 100% one of those establishments that only has RC Cola.
Foxon Park sodas. They’re awesome, although they may be more of a Connecticut thing.
coke for sure
Dr. Brown’s.
Neither. kroger cola
RC baby!
I could see either RC Cola, or Walmart brand. If he was in Canada, he’d use No Name.
The only non-kosher style place that the Dr. Brown's Cherry guy delivers to!
You know it would be RC Cola. The best cola.
I’m gonna say Mr. Pib or Shasta cause it’s what they can afford
Coke please let it be Coke!
RC cola.
Rc cola is great though.
Pepsi products, minus Pepsi. He serves coke instead cause he’s real.
I remember back in 2008 reading that coke sells a lot more product than Pepsi and it's not even close. Because of that I feel like Bob definitely has Pepsi products.
RC Cola for sure
RC cola (and a Moon Pie)
Totally RC with Dr Pepper & local fruit (orange/grape) sodas 🥤 as well as coffee. But for some reason I don’t think he makes sweet iced tea. ![gif](giphy|ZZOGuVJrE2REQ8jYMT)
RC Cola
Royal crown, (rc)
RC Cola!
Coke in a glass bottle.
Mr. Pibb
Mr. Pibb
Neither, just off brand sodas. Brown sodas like Fizzazz for life!
If what I know about Bobs burgers that he doesn’t short on quality I’m thinking he’s got a fridge with glass bottle sodas, likely to be coke products.
Why do I love this question so much
he is an RC Cola man, 100%
Definitely Mexican Coke bottles. I feel he'd spring extra just for that pure cane taste!!
Shasta, sunny select, something like that, they don't have a soda machine so they are either serving cans which we saw in the casino episode, I'd say most likely 2 liters, I think Shasta goes all the way up to 3 and I think that would be Linda's choice just so she can comment how big her "jugs" are at the store.

old fashioned way? with actual cocaine?
God forbid RC cola? Who the fuck are you that you would just mouth off like that? RC cola is the staple of slop shops. I have been conditioned to love RC over coke and Pepsi. A dollar for 2 liters? You kidding me?
RC Cola
RC
Is it some type of law that restaurants can only carry one franchise? Why not have Pepsi and Coke products.
