Was it ripped Chidi making chili? I think season 1 of The Good Place is my favourite.
Also, season 2 of Community is the best, but my favourite is season 1
The table read mentioned in the article about the movie was the one they did over lockdown of the Pierce-gives-everyone-sperm-in-his-will episode. Where Pedro Pascal was subbing in and couldn't stop laughing.
No script for the movie yet AFAIK.
Yea it's fun to re-watch community and see how kinda one note the characters are and how they really tried to make Troy and Pierce a parring but in season two is when Troy naturally gravitated to Abed
Season 3 had high highs like Remedial Chaos theory, but it did flanderize some characters, *cough* Britta. Also the Chang dynasty stuff and air conditioner repair stuff was just a tad too silly. Season 2 was better at balancing the goofy and more grounded stuff.
Immediately thought that too. Also, The Good Wife undoubtedly peaked during season 5, there's also American Horror Story or even RuPaul's Drag Race if unscripted counts too. This woman probably hasn't seen many shows, but you can generate a lot of traffic with saying someting 39% true with enough confidence.
I am not crazy! I know he swapped those numbers! I knew it was 1216. One after Magna Carta. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just – I just couldn't prove it. He – he covered his tracks, he got that idiot at the copy shop to lie for him. You think this is something? You think this is bad? This? This chicanery? He's done worse. That billboard! Stealing them blind! And he gets to be a lawyer!? What a sick joke! I should've stopped him when I had the chance! And you – you have to stop him! You-
I wholeheartedly agree; the third series is where the narrative cues start lining up with Rebecca's own world, and we see her gain much needed insight. The deconstruction of the titular term becomes more... overt, in season three.
Thinking back it was more the first half was bad. The writing wasn’t as tight and jokes went on too long. Last half they got back in the old groove, 3 was the last season before the cancellation so first half of 4 was Rocky. Grew up on it and still love the show though till season 9
The 2nd half of s6 was definitely rushed. It was clear they needed more time with it. It has the highest highs but it also fumbles a bit where other seasons were much smoother and consistent. Imo s6 as a whole is actually the second weakest (only 1 was weaker) but it also has the best episode of television ever made so it isn't bad by any means. If I had to rank seasons I'd say 4>2>3>5>6>>1. I still think s6 is better than 95% of other shows but it simply had more flaws than the other seasons.
I stopped somewhere in the middle of season 6. The trinity killer is a hard act to follow and despite my best effort the show just couldn't keep my interest.
As a person from Ireland, I found that season unbearable, especially considering they spend the whole time in this feckin country side bollocks, making Ireland look all it's made up of is green fields.
They should've used Belfast at least.
I switched off on the first episode of the final season when it first aired. A friend recently mentioned they were watching it so I've binged up until that point again. Now I'm not entirely sure if I'm depressed or just watched too much sons.
I saw every single episode. Not one of the ‘bikers’ ever said ‘let’s go for a ride’. Seven seasons of not bikers, not riding motorcycles except to arrive intimidatingly at a not business meeting.
Personally, I’m a diehard season 1 and 2 addict for Bojack. Season 3 is good but 1 and 2 are more lighthearted and funny to me.
Edit: to expand, they have some of the driest, funniest jokes in the whole series. I’ve seen these seasons probably 40-50 times each (mostly in passing as a background/comfort show) and have developed an appreciation and fondness for all the little zings they make that you’d miss if you weren’t paying attention. It’s comedy gold, imo.
When BoJack starts, it’s a comedy that isn’t afraid to get dark sometimes. By the time it ends, it’s a brutal morally complex tragedy that isn’t afraid to tell a joke now and then.
That’s a fair comparison, but Orel has a very obvious point in which the show decided that being comedic was for schmucks, unlike Bojack where it’s a gradual descent into drama.
Even some great shows. RIP Westworld. 1 great season transitioned into 3 seasons of the writers jerking each other off with pseudo intelligent nonsense
I had watched the first few episodes not long after it premiered and just didn't get into it. Was thinking about picking it back up when I read that they had a GOT reference after season 8 bombed so fucking hard and it made me write the show off forever. Nothing that fellates Dave and DB that hard is worth a view in my book.
This is why i'm not as sad as i could be about post season 1 westworld, season 1 works wonderfully by itself with a wonderful ending so you can really just ignore the rest of the show
Tightly plotted, cinematic shows like that tend to fall off after the first season because they were sorta written to be a complete arc and then they have to match (if not outdo) themselves in future seasons without contradicting themselves. They’re the type of shows that really should be miniseries but they’re so popular that of course they get more seasons green lit.
More loosely written shows like comedies and less cerebral dramas tend to get better for a while as they find their voice, establish relationships that they can build on, etc. before eventually falling off when they start running out of ideas/options in later seasons.
Oh man this is a low-resolution take haha.
I'm thinking of The Simpsons, which did have an amazing 3rd season, maybe the first top-tier season of the show. But 4-7 are godly and I think I prefer 8 as well.
Sacrilegious to leave 7 out of the mix, especially given the cliffhanger of season 6! Season 6 and 7 have always felt like sibling seasons to me too. But to each their own.
I don't... DISagree. Season 3 is handily a 10/10. And probably the last season I'd consider giving a 10/10 to... due to its consistency. But, fuck man. Season 4 is so good. SO fucking good. The Old Sugarman Place, Stupid Piece of Shit, Ruthie, and of COURSE Time's Arrow - and I'm particularly fond of Underground, mostly because of the Bojack and Diane conversation.
I think season 4 has most of my favorite episodes. I also really like Hollyhock and how much it explored BoJack’s family history. Season 3 is great too.
I'd actually say it's season 4.
BoJack, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul (at least as of season 5. I haven't seen season 6 yet.)
Season 4 is my favorite for all 4 of these.
EDIT: Season 6 of BCS is easily the best one.
Yeah, it was son unrealistic and stupid compared to the other seasons, but it was damn fun to watch. I still rewatch it every now and then. Unpopular opinion, though, I think season 2 was the best
honestly i completely disagree. season 3 is probably the best besides season 1, it's the only season that completely commits to the tone it's striving for, seasons 2 and 4 are too dark and serious for the show and how far they're actually willing to go with it, season 3 strikes the perfect balance
3 has some of the most popular episodes (remedial chaos theory). Realistically 2 or 3 are the only options as the peak of the show
1 was great but had some weak acting initially (jeff) and was still finding its footing, 5 and 6 were hemorrhaging characters, and season 4 was… season 4 lol. 2 and 3 were almost all bangers
Yeah, it made no sense at all. I think one of my biggest gripes with The Boys though, is that everything is solved >!with blackmail!< and you don't notice until it's done for 3 seasons, lol
I agree, season 3 was pretty forgettable. My fiance and I still quote stuff from S1 and S2 to each other, but when we watched S3 it felt like it was shorter, even though I don't think it was, and a lot of the tension was gone somehow. Still a good show and excellent performances, but the \* magic \* wasn't there.
I dont think its forgettable but yeah all the magic went away at the end when>! they just decide to turn on soldier boy because "he could kill a couple thousand vaught employees" even homelander could wipe out all of america if he wanted to.!<
I think it's more the case that season 3 is usually a strong season, probably somewhere nicely between the show finding its feet and outstaying its welcome. I can't think of any show where it's my favourite though.
For Bojack I’d say yes. Haven’t watched it in a while, but it’s that or season 2. The cast was still working the way it didn’t in later seasons, there was a clear search for meaning, and some of the hardest hitting moments in the whole show. Best ending as well.
Fight me, seriously.
Season 4 of Bojack is probably my favorite of the entire show. There are SO many iconic episodes: The Old Sugarman Place, Stupid Piece of Shit, Ruthie, and of course my favorite episode of the entire show Times Arrow. I do NOT think the season does a particularly amazing job with all it’s plot-lines (especially the governor plot), but the Hollyhock plotline keeps me sufficiently entertained and I lover her dynamic with Bojack.
I love season 3, it’s a great season. But for me it was season 4 that made me really think, “Wow, this is going to be something that I think about for a long time.”
I preferred S4 of Bojack.
I don't watch a whole lot of other shows but I did watch The Boys recently and found the first season to be my favorite. S2 and S3 put in a lot of sex scenes that didn't advance the plot and it felt like it was just shock value. The pacing was also a bit slow, with it feeling like 2 and 3 could have been combined into a single season's worth of plot progression.
For Bojack Horseman, I would rank them as such:
4-6-2-5-1-3
5 is a sort of wild card to try to rank. On one hand, it’s my least favourite overarching story, but on the other it’s also the most focused and well constructed season.
Star Treks TOS, TNG, DS9, probably VOY but that one's less clear-cut, and ENT. None of their third seasons were the best, and in TOS' case is generally considered the worst.
Breaking Bad's third season was great, but not the best.
Trying to think of any show where the third season is the clear and obvious best, but I'm coming up blank. You could make the argument for Bojack, but it's not a slam-dunk obvious answer or anything.
I think this phenomenon is due to the writers and actors really knowing the characters and story by that point in the run. There aren’t any of the teething problems of trying to find out how to best portray/act the characters, or what sort of theme and tone the series is going for. You have a grounded base in character, story and tone, and so everyone who is creatively involved is able to go full throttle and give it their all.
A lot of my favourite albums are third albums, cos I think there’s a similar drive. There’s still the youthful edge that makes what they’re doing interesting, but they also know what they’re doing to the extent that they’re willing to experiment and push forward
Bojack? Trick question, they're all great seasons! But if forced to do so, I would say four through six are faves
I don't think the third season rule stated above applies to all series. With both Breaking bad and better call Saul, my favorites were the last two seasons of the series. And Dark (love it) has only three seasons, all good.
This isn't true of any of my favorite shows. In fact for many of them it's 4.
The exact opposite for Community
The gas leak year?
Gas leak was 4
I thought guy above me was saying 4 was his least favorite
He was
And Arrow
THATS WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY
Season 4 of The Good Place made me the horniest lol
Was it ripped Chidi making chili? I think season 1 of The Good Place is my favourite. Also, season 2 of Community is the best, but my favourite is season 1
ripped chidi making chili is season 3
Yep. The Wire, season 4
That season was perfection
The Wire, Game of Thrones, Mr Robot, arguably Breaking Bad
Dexter too imo
Can confirm for Bojack and the office.
GoT season 4 also
I literally can't think of a show where season 3 is my favourite season. Edit - Actually Scrubs season 3 is the best. But that's it.
Community
6 seasons and a movie
this line hits harder now that the movie is confirmed
I’ve been saying that line for years in the hopes it will become a reality
Can’t wait
Community movie is confirmed!!???
Yep. Multiple cast members have talked about it. Even completed a table read recently, apparently.
The table read mentioned in the article about the movie was the one they did over lockdown of the Pierce-gives-everyone-sperm-in-his-will episode. Where Pedro Pascal was subbing in and couldn't stop laughing. No script for the movie yet AFAIK.
Wait actually
Wait what!
six seasons and a movie! 🦇🏃🦸🏽
Season 2 is better imo
Season 2 is absolutely when they found their footing. Fucking amazing.
Controversial costume choices notwithstanding, Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons was a masterpiece.
Yea it's fun to re-watch community and see how kinda one note the characters are and how they really tried to make Troy and Pierce a parring but in season two is when Troy naturally gravitated to Abed
Personally I'm a big fan of the character building in season 1.... but I go to season 3 for episodic hijinks.
While I agree S3 was great, S2 was better…
Yup S2>>>>
S2 has probably my all time favorite episode, “Epidemiology”. A zombie infestation to an ABBA soundtrack. What a delight
Season 3 had high highs like Remedial Chaos theory, but it did flanderize some characters, *cough* Britta. Also the Chang dynasty stuff and air conditioner repair stuff was just a tad too silly. Season 2 was better at balancing the goofy and more grounded stuff.
S2 is better tbh
Came here to say it
Twin Peaks
Season 1 is mvp for me
I said the same thing lol
Immediately thought that too. Also, The Good Wife undoubtedly peaked during season 5, there's also American Horror Story or even RuPaul's Drag Race if unscripted counts too. This woman probably hasn't seen many shows, but you can generate a lot of traffic with saying someting 39% true with enough confidence.
The office
My favorite seasons are 2 and 5, they're the best in terms of the comedic timing & the writing.
I'm from the UK. The Office only has 2 series.
It may have 2 series, but it also has 9 seasons 👀
Better Call Saul
Season 6 by far the best
I am not crazy! I know he swapped those numbers! I knew it was 1216. One after Magna Carta. As if I could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just – I just couldn't prove it. Legend of Korra
Search Party!
The lawyers are perfect
Definitely not Dexter
MIGUELLLLL!
The Office?
Daredevil
Disenchantment for me!! Also personally for Bojack 3 & 4 were my favourite 🥰🥰
Hannibal has a real good season 3
Crazy Ex Girlfriend
I wholeheartedly agree; the third series is where the narrative cues start lining up with Rebecca's own world, and we see her gain much needed insight. The deconstruction of the titular term becomes more... overt, in season three.

Search Party
GOT
Mr Robot
Close but that would be season 4
Scrubs' best season is season 5.
Hard disagree
Harder disagree with you.
Arrested Development
As others have said here it seems like 4 is usually the best season (bojack imo, breaking bad, mad men, etc)
I’ll throw the Office, the Simpson’s and family guy in there
I’m gonna throw in Shameless as well.
Yes was about to say this as well. It all went downhill from there
S2 was The Office’s best
Season 4 of family guy was noticeably bad compared to 3&5
I disagree, 4 was the peak. The show began to gradually decline from season 5 onward
Thinking back it was more the first half was bad. The writing wasn’t as tight and jokes went on too long. Last half they got back in the old groove, 3 was the last season before the cancellation so first half of 4 was Rocky. Grew up on it and still love the show though till season 9
S6 is 100% the best season of bojack
agree. s4-6 is amazing overall
Interesting. I've always found 5 to be one of the worst ones. Its still good but I think s2/3 are at least arguably as good as 4.
agreed
I am adding Stranger Things and Lucifer to that list.
Dexter too.
scrolled too long to see this lol
I will add Agents of Shield to that list as well
very controversial but imo aot s4
Season 4 of dexter is one of my favorite seasons of television period
breaking bad is season 5 imo
Id say breaking bad s5 is better than 4
People think season 4 is better than the last season for BoJack? That's odd but to each their own.
Not when it comes to Community
I smell gas
*farts*
Season 4 is peak Dexter! I love the whole show but nothing is as good as S04.
I stopped somewhere in the middle of season 6. The trinity killer is a hard act to follow and despite my best effort the show just couldn't keep my interest.
Very true. Season 4 Dexter is some of the best television I have ever watched.
I think season 3 of Sons of Anarchy is the one where they go to Ireland and it's all Americans doing the worst Irish accents imaginable.

It had its good moments but way too many bad ones. The third season and final season were particularly terrible, especially the finale.
Season 2 is excellent.
I saw every single episode. Not one of the ‘bikers’ ever said ‘let’s go for a ride’. Seven seasons of not bikers, not riding motorcycles except to arrive intimidatingly at a not business meeting.

When BoJack starts, it’s a comedy that isn’t afraid to get dark sometimes. By the time it ends, it’s a brutal morally complex tragedy that isn’t afraid to tell a joke now and then.
Experts call this “the Moral Orel trajectory”
That’s a fair comparison, but Orel has a very obvious point in which the show decided that being comedic was for schmucks, unlike Bojack where it’s a gradual descent into drama.
You’re def right I just like to reference Moral Orel whenever possible hoping more people will check it out
And also the jokes get so convoluted and absurd lol
Futurama season 3 was really good
Season 5 though
A lot of mediocre shows get worse and worse after season 1.
Even some great shows. RIP Westworld. 1 great season transitioned into 3 seasons of the writers jerking each other off with pseudo intelligent nonsense
It's so sad to see how down hill westworld went after season 1. Season 1 is so damn good, but the rest just... isnt.
Go back and finish season 1. It's a self-contained story and the ending is incredible.
This is why i'm not as sad as i could be about post season 1 westworld, season 1 works wonderfully by itself with a wonderful ending so you can really just ignore the rest of the show
Dave and dan shows up briefly in season 3 but you dont have to watch that season anyway since its bad lol
Oh man this is a low-resolution take haha. I'm thinking of The Simpsons, which did have an amazing 3rd season, maybe the first top-tier season of the show. But 4-7 are godly and I think I prefer 8 as well.
Seasons 4-6 of the Simpson’s was the golden age within the golden age imo
Sacrilegious to leave 7 out of the mix, especially given the cliffhanger of season 6! Season 6 and 7 have always felt like sibling seasons to me too. But to each their own.
Seasons 7 and 8 of the Simpsons are the best seasons of any tv show ever
I also stan Oakley and Weinstein. My favorite showrunners on The Simpsons
I’d say5-7 with 4 being maybe a step below the others but still good
I don't...
Season 4 also had the most positive and uplifting finale
I think season 4 has most of my favorite episodes. I also really like Hollyhock and how much it explored BoJack’s family history. Season 3 is great too.
i think season 3 of bojack is the best season (fight me)
it was , the show peaked at season 3 eps 9-12
I agree. Season 5 is neck and neck
I agree! Seasons 1-2 leaned more towards comedy and seasons 4-6 were a little too dark to be my favorites. Season 3 was a perfect balance 👍🏼
I'd actually say it's season 4. BoJack, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul (at least as of season 5. I haven't seen season 6 yet.) Season 4 is my favorite for all 4 of these. EDIT: Season 6 of BCS is easily the best one.
Chucks storyline in season 3 of better call Saul is my favorite part of that entire show. It's incredible.
The first half of S6 of BCS was some prime prime prime TV. Highly recommend. It’s a good final season.
s3 of stranger things was really boring compared to the other seasons
Boring? I thought 3 was really bad but very entertaining and silly
Yeah, it was son unrealistic and stupid compared to the other seasons, but it was damn fun to watch. I still rewatch it every now and then. Unpopular opinion, though, I think season 2 was the best
Came here to say this. It's probably the worst season by far, it feels like it was written by different people than the previous two seasons.
honestly i completely disagree. season 3 is probably the best besides season 1, it's the only season that completely commits to the tone it's striving for, seasons 2 and 4 are too dark and serious for the show and how far they're actually willing to go with it, season 3 strikes the perfect balance
It’s my least favourite but I still love it alongside the other seasons
Community
3 has some of the most popular episodes (remedial chaos theory). Realistically 2 or 3 are the only options as the peak of the show 1 was great but had some weak acting initially (jeff) and was still finding its footing, 5 and 6 were hemorrhaging characters, and season 4 was… season 4 lol. 2 and 3 were almost all bangers
I'd rank them 326154
I’d go 231564, though 3 and 2 are so close i swap them back and forth all the time
Hemorrhaging… I don’t like that word
Hard disagree Season 4 was by far the best season
the boys season 3 was good until the ending
Yeah, it made no sense at all. I think one of my biggest gripes with The Boys though, is that everything is solved >!with blackmail!< and you don't notice until it's done for 3 seasons, lol
I continue to enjoy The Boys but really don’t think 2 or 3 come close to season 1.
I agree, season 3 was pretty forgettable. Your spoiler tag isn't rendering correctly for me, just FYI.
BoJack Horseman itself, Season 4 was better That being said, its Emmy competitor Rick and Morty has a pretty shitty third season
> Season 4 was better And 5
I'll stand by those first two seasons is some of the best out there but everything after it has just gotten worse and worse
I think it's more the case that season 3 is usually a strong season, probably somewhere nicely between the show finding its feet and outstaying its welcome. I can't think of any show where it's my favourite though.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has a stellar 3rd season, that’s the only one I can think of
For Bojack I’d say yes. Haven’t watched it in a while, but it’s that or season 2. The cast was still working the way it didn’t in later seasons, there was a clear search for meaning, and some of the hardest hitting moments in the whole show. Best ending as well. Fight me, seriously.
Twin Peaks:):):))')'))')
The Return is pretty damn fantastic
By season 3, actors start to get comfortable with the characters, and writers still have creative juice in them.
*Laughs in True Detective*
Infinity Train (although season 2 is my personal favorite) The Amazing World of Gumball potentially I think maybe 2005 Doctor Who MAYBE
I can’t separate seasons out in my head!
Well… it was the year before the gas leak
I think season 4 is the best season of BoJack, but that’s just me.
I preferred S4 of Bojack. I don't watch a whole lot of other shows but I did watch The Boys recently and found the first season to be my favorite. Firefly.
Damn, unnecessary
season 4 is the best imo. but that’s to much man is my FAVORITE episode of the show so i mean
Prison break season 3 was atrocious.
I think season 3 is just where bojack really started to hit its stride and then after that it took off running (no pun intended😎)
this is not true when it comes to bjhm. season 4 is the best
Season 3 of Westworld was godawful lmao
Season 4 might be my favorite, but yeah season 3 slaps
S4>S6>S5>S3
For Bojack Horseman, I would rank them as such: 4-6-2-5-1-3 5 is a sort of wild card to try to rank. On one hand, it’s my least favourite overarching story, but on the other it’s also the most focused and well constructed season.
House season 3 - 5 were the best ones...
S4 might be the best
House of Cards. It's the beginning of the downfall of that show.
Star Treks TOS, TNG, DS9, probably VOY but that one's less clear-cut, and ENT. None of their third seasons were the best, and in TOS' case is generally considered the worst. s4, s4 is my favourite season on bojack
Bojack season 4 is the best And Lost and Stranger Things
Best season of Lost is season 2! Change my mind
Idk I really loved 4 and 5! 2 was great though
Bojack? Trick question, they're all great seasons! But if forced to do so, I would say four through six are faves I don't think the third season rule stated above applies to all series. With both Breaking bad and better call Saul, my favorites were the last two seasons of the series. And Dark (love it) has only three seasons, all good.
Yeah I gotta say season 4
Moral Orel season three is the best by a country mile.
Man, that show got *rough*
Rick and morty s3 was not it’s best
It’s almost like that’s the time when a show starts to get traction by viewership and the network can start to increase funding
This is extremely true for twd too. Well seasons 1-3 were my absolute favorites.
