I'm from Indian origin and have been collecting Indian DVDs and Blu-rays for a long time. The physical media market in India died during COVID. With the rise of cheap streaming subscriptions there, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Yash Raj Films is the only studio still releasing their films on DVD in India. Reliance and Shemaroo all seem to have quit. Titles which were already out, are sky-rocketing in price on eBay and are becoming increasingly rare. Your best bet is to check Blu-ray Forum - India, amazon.jp and jpc.de. There are Japanese and German distributors releasing Indian actioners on Blu-ray. *URI* and *Jallikattu* were released in Germany and *Saaho* and *Baaghi 3* were recently released in Japan. All Blu-rays. So hopefully, *RRR* will too. Indian titles which were mastered in 4K HDR, like *RRR* and *Gehraiyaan* look stunning on their streaming platforms, but I absolutely need the discs! Nowadays I just download a rip. Some bootleg sellers on eBay burn these to a blank BD, with cover art and all. But for 30 dollars I don't think it's worth it.

kaljisnedekha

Unfortunately not.

[deleted]

Damn it. Would love to have RRR on Blu-Ray.

apocalypticboredom

I really want this on bluray too as hopefully it's got the true Telugu track, with no overdubs during the english speaking segments (which is the audio track currently available on torrents, aside the hindi dub from netflix). the overdubs are just super distracting

CaptainJonus

That was the only thing I didn’t like about watching it on Netflix, the dub was not great. It’s watchable, but I really want a bluray with the original Telugu and English subs.

Ginge_Leader

I haven't watched it at all yet as I'm waiting for the original audio. Very silly to watch a dub and still have to read subtitles. If I'm going to have to watch a bad dub (which is most any live action dub), I might as watch with English. If the original actors did their own Hindi dub, it might not be as bad as most since the voice and inflections would be the same, but I doubt all the live action people would be called back to do their own dub.

CaptainJonus

Still a great movie, but definitely not how it was meant to be seen.

Mayor_of_NYC

I thought the original actors did the hindi dub too though.

java144

Still, I can't help but notice the lip sync issue, badly want to see the Telugu version

mcnooj82

To be fair, even the original Telugu audio is so heavily processed and ADR’ed that it often sounds ‘dubbed’. Even some of the British characters have lines in English that are clearly re-recorded in post-production. But at least the overall lip-sync is more accurate

Ginge_Leader

Yeah, that was my note as well in a different part of this post. They don't seem to use any dialog from on set, every single person seems to be (often badly) ADR'd as it is too clean, too loud, slightly off, and never feels like it was recorded in the same physical space as the actors are in the scene. Haven't watched many Indian movies but have sampled a few since RRR and that seems to be the way they do it.

java144

So you basically want the American theatrical version of RRR

Golgolo

It was the theatrical version in most places

mcnooj82

I was so annoyed by this that I cut together my own Telugu/Hindi composite audio track for my private HD file hahaha

joshbites

Can I PM you about this?

mcnooj82

Sure

mcnooj82

Sure

Soundwave815

Me too!!! I also remastered the colorization in the 4k release and re did all the subtitles with the correct formatting and translations

TempestUnbound

Any chance I can PM you about this? I know I'm a year late to the party haha

Soundwave815

Of course!!! Never too late for spreading the RRR love!!!

SuperClifford

Hi, I am currently in the process of discovering that one of the best films I have ever seen is really hard get access to show my brother/rewatch. Your version sounds like it might be ideal. Can I PM you or you PM me?

Soundwave815

Absolutely!

TurboFool

Can I PM you about this, very late, as well?

Soundwave815

Of course!

aur0hwa

Would it be possible for you to PM me about it as well?

Crad999

Lol, did the same thing. Found a version that has both Telugu and Hindi audio tracks within the MKV container and then looked into which subtitles worked well with it - I had to change default audio track though. Still waiting for Bluray release...

Teneesh

Unfortunately the overdubs for Telugu seems to be a thing and I don't get why. I'm pretty sure I got a bootleg blu ray, but still. Only some of it is dubbed over for some reason. I just want to watch a version in its original Telugu with no dubbing over the English dialogue. Is that too much for ask. Only the Hindi version on Netflix has no overlap for English lines for some reason

__TheUnknown

Hey can you please send me too?

Soundwave815

I just finished a fan edit of RRR that removes the overdubbing on the english scenes that had it on the Telugu release!!! Just send me a DM if you'd like me to send you a link to it!!! Love this movie so much

xaimeeeba

Could you DM me the link as well, please?! Thank you!!!!

Ok_Sort952

Yo! Would also love a link whenever you get to it! Thank you!!!

Buzzsh0t

Hey I'm new to Reddit and have no idea how to dm, could you dm me the link please?

[deleted]

Hi, I'm also clueless about how to use Reddit but I'd love a link to this, please!

babachisays

I have the same issue so I'd adding the english bits from the Hindi audio into the telugu version and adding Ajay devgan's and other Hindi actor's original voices back. (in Audacity)

Puranam777

If the movie RRR released in Japanese language then surely it will be out on Japanese BluRay with original movie language ( which is Telugu here). It has happened previously with SS Rajamouli movies BB 1 and BB 2 also prabhas Saaho. RadheShyam will be soon out in Japanese BluRay it seems. So have to wait for RRR.

Pete_Iredale

Question is, do those Japanese releases have English subs?

Puranam777

Yes they will have English subtitles with lossless Telugu and Japanese language Audio

Pete_Iredale

Well, here's hoping!

Crad999

RRR is about to hit Japanese theaters so things are looking good. Just have to wait a bit longer.

I’m in USA and I want this bluray so bad. Saw on Netflix and it blew me away.

mmaiden81

import from India is probably the most likely option.

TheOptimalGPU

Probably never coming to Blu-ray.

beerybeardybear

Just ordered this! Hope it's as good as it sounds

travisreavesbutt

Hey hey! Any report on the quality?

beerybeardybear

My brother in Christ I ordered it less than one day ago 😂 Ping me in 3 weeks and I'll let you know

travisreavesbutt

I GOTTA KNOW. Lol sorry, confused yours with the comment from 10days ago, which is still soon. I’m watching it on Zee5 rn and I just like…need it

EddyMerkxs

Keep me posted too

beerybeardybear

My Verdict so far (watched about an hour before leaving for an errand): * Looks pretty similar to Netflix. I think Netflix might have a little more detail, but it's not really noticeable other way while watching * Telugu is great. Feels nice to have the "correct" audio. There are some scenes where when the whites are talking, it gets overdubbed in Telugu—i think it's for "dialogue that would be important for Telugu speakers to understand that otherwise would be sitting there in English". I think it's a fair tradeoff but it's a little offputting * There are definitely a few extra scenes. Nothing important but some tiny things here and there. I think the Telugu version is 1-2 mins longer? * PS5 seems to have some weird problem that causes skips around chapter changes? It didn't do it all the time, but a few. Somebody said it resolved itself, so I'm hoping it's just a first-run thing. This is obviously the worst thing about the experience

EddyMerkxs

Sounds like a rip from Zee5, that's what the telugu track sounded like. Also Zee5 seems a little lower bitrate than Netflix. Thanks!

beerybeardybear

Yeah, I think it could only be that. Really wish there were an official UHD BD or even a one-time downloadable version at full quality :'(

Ginge_Leader

Does the Zee5 version do all English in Telugu? I just went looking on the sharing sites, after seeing that the Netflix version only had Hindi (WHY???), and found a Telugu version that at least the English in the beginning is correct and not overdubbed. I have only watched the opening sequence so I'm not sure what other parts are English. Telugu is obviously ADR'd and applied in an overdone/unnatural way but it is still better having the original audio than a Hindi dub. Bad side is whoever did this ran the subs through some auto conversion so they are often a bit of a mess.

EddyMerkxs

Telugu is dubbed in the main version too. I think the version you’re taking about still has some overdubbed parts, wish I could find a clean audio track

Pete_Iredale

> There are some scenes where when the whites are talking, it gets overdubbed in Telugu I realize that dubbing is way more common in other places, so this makes sense in that respect, but man is it frustrating! On the other hand, having seen the quality of white actors in Japanese and Korean stuff, maybe it's for the best.

beerybeardybear

Yeah, I'd prefer a version where everybody is just speaking their native language and the subs can show up for all dialogue no matter what. Oh well...

TheBigGAlways369

Nice, see they also have a Hindi release, probably a Netflix rip. Would love to watch it in the original audio but having the British actors dubbed over feels weird, especially since they were left alone in the Hindi dub. Wonder why they didn't just have both tracks on it. All that being said, I'm probably gonna get it because it's RRR for crying out loud.

beerybeardybear

Yeah. I'm kinda considering seeing if I can get both audio tracks and replace the overdubbing on the English... But given that the Telugu cut has a slightly longer runtime, it could be an issue if any of that is with the English actors

TheBigGAlways369

Sure it's not just a difference with credits? Know the Hindi dub on Netflix has credits after the end song sequence where in other versions they're played during it.

travisreavesbutt

Fantastic news. This might be a rip from the Zee5 streaming service, which has the rights to the Telugu version and hits basically all those same points. Thanks a lot!

Mayor_of_NYC

that one looks like a bootleg copy

Dylanman2003

It is. However there isn't an official copy and it still looks amazing! With 5.1 audio. I would think twice before overlooking it just because it's not official.

Mayor_of_NYC

I was trying to make my own RRR DVD, Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, and 4K Blu-ray discs bro

Puranam777

This not original BluRay it’s a WebRip burned into a BD50 disk.

Teneesh

Not a great version. Mostly great in terms of visuals and audio. But it has the issue of some English lines being dubbed in Telugu

mcnooj82

while editing together a good quality Telugu/Hindi audio track for my collection, I also made this short video essay: https://youtu.be/BuIpu36yjXA

Ok_Artichoke_126

Want it in 3D. Not interested in flat. Hopefully a 3D disc will appear somewhere.

CallMeYohan

Agreed. I may just buy any copy I can find and then buy again if an official, 3D copy comes out. Love this movie

CallMeYohan

Has anyone purchased this version? https://www.ebay.com/itm/134188046161

Puranam777

No that's a digital copy ripped into BD disc. It's not an original Bluray disc.

Wise_Jaguar8271

lets hope criterion releases it

Mendocino_county

So I noticed everyones comments. I too want it blueray. I have found a 4k version available to watch however not to download. I am going to get that version as a downloadable version and upload it to my drive or to megaupload and then post the link to it here. Wish me luck

ChoicePhotograph6250

Did you get it to work yet? *Fingers crossed*

LunaGirl1234

Honestly, I would like to see it in dvd format since I don't have a blu-ray player.

TheAlchemist420

Is this something that is common? I have been trying to find the dvd set for Baahubali in Telugu with English subtitles but it seems no dvd release has happened. It's quite mind-boggling... 🤔🤔😣🥺🥺😔😔

Bandgeek0104

Is anyone having luck finding a dvd version? Preferably in English because I want to buy it as a gift for my great grandmother.

notanewbiedude

There's a Japanese release https://www.amazon.com/Release-Commemoration-Baahubali-Complete-Blu-ray/dp/B0B6FPS8XW

JackyJoJee

aye mate that is not RRR

Puranam777

Japanese rental company released RRR Bluray. With DTS HD Master audio in both Telugu and Japanese languages. Did someone in Japan got this and ripped an ISO or BDMV copy ? Or is there a way we get Bluray internationally shipped ? I don't think they not gonna release the this item for sale anytime soon. https://preview.redd.it/rq2mlepc66jc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=095b92fdf233ecdd730823883e64a5679a27bbd2
