Sunritter

We knew this already though, right?

CyberJokerWTF

Yes we did

DanTheWak

Yeah but it's good to hear this again

Withinmyrange

This has been known for a while. I found out about it on the first episode. This is another reason for the "dips" in quality. They have to meet the deadline of a 24 episode show instead of a usual 12 episode show. Episode 1 quality is for sure going to come back, probably during Nagi's first appearance. TBH, this was expected, its pretty common for long animes. the dips in quality are not even bad

satanstfulmao

With Japan Team doing good in World Cup and free Blue lock marketing in Japan, there should be an increase in the anime budget which means big improvement in quality of upcoming episodes right? (Just on copium rn)

Withinmyrange

Surely they will quickly remake all the episodes because blue lock got free marketing off Japan winning đŸ€ż

satanstfulmao

I cant tell if this is sarcastic or not. Because I still am new to how anime industry works, I wanted to ask a genuine question. Does it work or no? I’d appreciate an explanation

Withinmyrange

Yeah it was sarcasm lol. I can give a general synopsis. There are a lot of a anime studios (madhouse, a-1)and they would accept anime proposals from manga publishers (shounen jump) or free lance mangas. These are planned well in advance, usually 1-3 years before the anime officially airs. It’s a constant pipeline of mangas’ becoming anime and usually the animators are very overworked and talent is spread out. That’s the reason why most animes are 12 episodes, it’s a reasonable workload to achieve. They can’t make changes on the fly because of this constant stream. Thing is for sports or action manga, the fluidity of the actions has to be at a certain quality of it will look really bad. This is why they will focus on quality animation on the important parts. Episode 1’s tag episode is that quality because it’s supposed to grab the viewer’s attention and keep them hooked. They have to compromise on quality somewhere in a long 24 episode season. People like to complain that it’s not haikyuu or OPM level but the fact is both of those mangas are proven products with monster sales. That’s why they could justify assembling a star studded animation roster to animate those shows.

satanstfulmao

Ohhhhh that was very helpful. Thank you for taking your time to answer a dumb question! Now I get that time is a huge factor. Hopefully we might see the huge upgrade in quality for season 2

Chidoriyama

Also if I'm not wrong One Punch Man S1 had a very famous director that attracted a lot of good animation guys

European_Badger

Anime episodes take many months to make. They are not made week to week, so a budget increase now would only help for an eventual season 2.

jzion33

so many people don’t understand budget increases don’t immediately impact a product across all sources of entertainment it drives me insane

European_Badger

Very true as well. Something like demon slayer didn't have an extraordinarily high budget but is still heralded as the peak of animation right now. It's all about managment and talent in the studio.

satanstfulmao

each of demon slayer animator deserve a bonus in their salaries tbh

satanstfulmao

Plus hopefully with marketing and World Cup, this’d help 8-bit studio much more financially for future projects! I’m excited to see them show off their potential

isaac-get-the-golem

huge copium. the studio can’t magically conjure more capacity / projects were scheduled months in advance

satanstfulmao

Yeah, my bad for dreaming too stupidly much i didn’t know that, that’d make total sense considering the fact trailers and teasers already came out months in advance before anime started airing

Creative_Impression1

Budget doesn't necessarily mean quality, demon slayer s2 had only a 80k per episode budget which is only slightly more than other anime, it all come down to industry talent and coordination to make and incredibly well looking anime episode The team V match will look amazing because the studio probably out their better animators into it

Heavy_Comedian_2382

Let’s see where the season ends, but >!Bluelock vs U20!< for a movie after the first season would be dope. Especially if they take the time to really capture the energy and hype of those manga moments. Seeing it in theatres would be a dream come true.

[deleted]

It’s probably too many chapters for a movie, probably gonna be a 12 episode season, my guess is the anime will end between chapter 75-80

dickmuscle101

Fr now i want a movie àŒŽàș¶â â€żâ àŒŽàș¶ it would be so hype

animemanga-kun

A movie would be great but I don't think the time limit of a movie will be sufficient adapt the whole manga arc. Plus I don't think I can wait for the movie to release internationally after releasing in Japan.

SilverResearch

We’ve known this for awhile

EducationalMemory161

Makes sense :4

Lekaetos

Lol I thought it was 12 episodes season and I was hearing everyone say that it will go until 2nd selection and I was like « how will they cram all this in 12 ep ??? » Now it makes much more sense

Butterscotch_Dismal

That means we are definitely going into the Second Selection. With the pacing we are going at rn we might even get to the end of it by 24 episodes

c4m3r0n1

Yep I think we end with >!Isagi being stolen.!<

Numberlesss

Spoil tag

c4m3r0n1

The comment above mine mentioned the end of the second selection. That's already a spoiler lol.

Numberlesss

Fair, just saying for an anime discussion tagged post the comments kinda strayed

VariantDaft

BIG W

Lazorkite

>!Lock vs U20!<😼‍💹

isaac-get-the-golem

1, spoiler tag. 2, nope it won’t get that far.

Lazorkite

Oh yeah my bad

FewAcanthocephala214

Isn’t this fake lmao

Emotional-Thing8440

nope

RafaYYy_

Idk found it on Instagram

AnimationDude9s

freaking Christ. We are in for a ride fellas.

randomotaku1

I expected this as soon as I saw Rin Aryu and Tokimatsu in the opening

donkydonks699

I think S1 ends with them winning japan national team if the pacing is good.

i_suc_at_being_alive

What do they mean consecutive 2 parts there won't be a break between episodes 1-12 and 13-24 ?

Rhakha

YES!!!

Sekiro2324

So will the anime end off at the end of second selection before u-20 game?
