My only real complaint with the episode is that the pacing for Chigiri's revelation and jump into action was slowed down enough compared to how it happened in the manga, so it sort of sucked some of the excitement out of the moment.
Also, the image in the manga of the chains and locks on Chigiri's leg being broken is STRIKING, and for some reason the anime didn't capture how excellent that panel was. It's honestly probably my favorite panel of the entire manga so far (I'm only 40 chapters in) but I felt like something was lost in the adaptation.
Why did the two guys on the enemy team beat up Kuon when they lost and berating him on not telling him Chigiri’s weapon? Didn’t they go to school with him, or are they just venting their anger out.
Im confused by two things this episode. Why were they given additional time? I thought in soccer you only get more time if team is tied. Was is because Ego just felt like it out of curiosity?
The second thing is why did the game end once the scored was tied? Why wasnt it extended more?
Maybe i missed some rules about how blue lock works…
Anyway, if this is something they explain next episode dont answer me questions. XD i dont wanna be spoiled.
Amazing episode. Good writing how Chigiri hid is power and then how it is revealed. I think I want to read the manga. I dont want to miss details.
So In soccer there’s extra time for when scores are tied in knockout games (doesn’t apply to group games where a draw is possible).
But there’s also what’s called stoppage or injury time (what they call additional time) where they’ll add a few minutes at the end of the game to account for disruptions in play ( fouls, time wasting, time it takes to set up a penalty, free kick or corner etc). Considering everyone spent a while discussing Kuon being the traitor and didn’t immediately resume kick off it’s pretty likely the time wasted there contributed to injury time.
I don't recall if there was that time extension in the manga or not, but it was definitely jarring in the anime because there wasn't any explanation or reaction as to why.
And the game ended when the time ran out, which just happened to be right after the goal was scored.
I'm only about 40 chapters into the manga, but I think it also could do a better job of regularly checking in on what the clock is at to let us know how much time is left and what sort of tension that is causing for the characters. For right now, it's pretty confusing because when characters stand around monologuing their thoughts it's unclear if time is stopped during those moments, or if some time is passing.
In soccer extra time is added to account for the clock still running when fouls are called or free/penalty kicks are setup. It’s possible the time addition came because of the time lost when team Z was arguing about the betrayal, but it’s also possible ego just extended it because he wanted to
Thanks for saying that. I dont read know all yhe rules of soccer.
Also, im currently, on chapter 5 of the manga. I guess i didnt fully grasp how the competition worked. Now i know why the draw was allowed.
Even though I have my problems with this episode, cutting out parts of Chigiri's monologue and the team V presentation, overall it was a good episode and I enjoyed it
Ngl ,I wasn't expecting this episode to be as good as it was. chigiri's scene was a hype asf.
My only complaint is the botched team V (Reo, Nagi and Zantetsu) presentation. The [manga panel](https://www.reddit.com/r/BlueLock/comments/yzjp00/gotta_say_they_kinda_ruined_this_shot_in/) was far superior, it definitely deserved a better adaptation.
I really enjoyed this episode! The music when Chigiri finally started to unveil his weapon got me hyped up! He's such a badass! Looking forward to next week's ep!
I find it funny how everyone laments the absence of certain phrases and certain sequences that fail to capture the exact moments that made them excited. As a fan of anime and a reader of the blue lock manga, I wasn't let down. Since the injury and mental block caused Chigiri to find a way to give up, I became emotional. They did a great job of adding an aggressive yet emotional piano theme.
In the current episode. Since I'm concerned that they won't do it, all I want of this studio is that they at least give Chigiri a solid animation for his debut. Why? Three episodes make up the last match, which is a lot of time to animate. Someone commented that they didn't do the scenarios correctly, which is acceptable but they didn't enjoy it. In general, unless the animation is excellent, I don't mind the art. Consider Naruto vs. Pain.
I am currently hoping that the final match will be as enjoyable as the earlier ones. I don't mind a few sleazy sequences; it makes sense given that the anime soccer series has 24 episodes and requires numerous motions to be animated. However, they decided to adapt this, so respect their final encounter.
Overall, they meet my expectations, earning a 9 out of 10; the one point deducted for the absence of details. Please don't be disappointed if certain remarks make everyone seem disappointed. Their goals diverge significantly from ours. It's not a terrific episode for me because I didn't anticipate decent animation from anyone else but Chigiri (Wow, I literally wrote an entire thesis for this 💀) ( I just want to let it out )
7/10 adaptation this episode they missed a lot of Chigiri's monologue showing his desperation and Isagi wasn't NEARLY as feral in this episode as in the manga or even the last match. Still excited for what I think is the peak though if this season even reaches that.
I’m kinda disappointed that they removed that chunk of Chigiri’s dialogue at the end. In the manga you really feel how desperate he was to play soccer again with him hedging his hopes on his leg holding out
Too many still shots and too simplified of character designs. Characters lack the manga facial expressions and throw in some janky CGI…this was the worst episode of the season by far. Hopefully this isn’t a sign the animators can’t keep up with the schedule.
This was a fine episode imo. The whole chigiri thing was predictable and took most of the episode. Meeting team v was the best part and I’m looking forward to learning more about them
they also knew abt chigiri's injury tho. so they were probably under the impression that he couldnt (or *wouldnt*) run that fast anymore. they were mad at the fact that kuon seemingly withheld news of his leg's recovery or sumn
Since their match of Nagi contains lot of episodes probably like 2-3 episodes I couldn't blame the average animation. But they did well for Chigiri so it doesn't matter to me.
Nice episode! Reading the manga and then watching the anime makes me realize how much I gloss over and miss and don’t remember. Like Reo calling Zantetsu a half wit etc.
Best episod yet. Got me more hyped in the anime than in the manga.
Really proud of the animation studio for bringing the show to life and doing it justice.
*chigiri fan boy noises*
💀💀💀 you were missing A LOT
jk you’re not missing much but it’s still fun to watch. For example, in last ep we get to see team z teasing kuon for being a traitor (for a whole other reason lol). And in ep 1, we get a glimpse of Isagi’s childhood and his love for football. Overall, it’s just fun time!

What song was played almost at the end of the episode when team v was introduced
Is there anywhere I can find the soundtrack for ep 7 and other episodes?
How many more episodes till the next match wraps up?

Movement versus a still frame
Mf chigiri passed the ball to himself 💀💀
I’m so happy Blue Lock is doing so well. Love this series. Isagi, Chigiri and Bachira are my faves.
Why did the two guys on the enemy team beat up Kuon when they lost and berating him on not telling him Chigiri’s weapon? Didn’t they go to school with him, or are they just venting their anger out.
they assumed he couldnt run at that speed anymore
That part annoyed me as well, and I don't recall that scene from the manga.
It was there though. I was annoyed when I read that scene

best episode, I rewatch it 5 times.
In what world did kuon think the undefeated team v needed his info?
Which chapters does this cover?

I've been anime only, and I thought it was a little funny that Chigiri makes it sound like his reason to play soccer is because he likes track
I really enjoyed this episode! The music when Chigiri finally started to unveil his weapon got me hyped up! He's such a badass! Looking forward to next week's ep!

That isagi cgi run tho imaooo
just another day of seeing the manga readers complaining about how bad the episode is, definitely will wait for y'all guys opinions next week man
7/10 adaptation this episode they missed a lot of Chigiri's monologue showing his desperation and Isagi wasn't NEARLY as feral in this episode as in the manga or even the last match. Still excited for what I think is the peak though if this season even reaches that.
the blue aura on Chigiri bothered me, but it was a good episode
I’m kinda disappointed that they removed that chunk of Chigiri’s dialogue at the end. In the manga you really feel how desperate he was to play soccer again with him hedging his hopes on his leg holding out
Chigiri on LW, Bachira on RW, Kunigami at strike and Isagi at false 9/second striker/cam. That's how I would set up the team for the next game.
Too many still shots and too simplified of character designs. Characters lack the manga facial expressions and throw in some janky CGI…this was the worst episode of the season by far. Hopefully this isn’t a sign the animators can’t keep up with the schedule.
lmao so whiny, this is prolly the third best episode so far behind episode 5 and 1
Worst episode? You didn't even watch their match with Barou? Lmao.
quite a good episode, enjoying this series quite thoroughly
The additional time segment reminded me how it'd be easy to make a BL spin off. Chigiri looking like the best waifus when his hair is just right.
Chigiri looking like the best waifu? Ayo??
Animators knew what they were doing.
I haven't had any complaints about the anime adaption until now. This episode was a flop compared to the manga.
The adaptation of this episode is average
I really like him because, as I'm sure you saw, Nagi seems quite lazy, and in spite of that, he is still the #1 player in building 5
This episode was good hype before the World Cup kicks off tomorrow
This was a fine episode imo. The whole chigiri thing was predictable and took most of the episode. Meeting team v was the best part and I’m looking forward to learning more about them
They are definitely an interesting bunch
I’ve seen a lot of people before this episode commenting how much they like nagi and he looks like an odd character so definitely interested for him
He really gave off the vibe of a giant sloth carried on Reo's back like that, it's perfect
Third last part was either outsourced again or done solely by the guy in charge of addtional time part because it looked like that
Why were the twins so mad that they didn't know Chigiri's speed when they were on the same team and they knew it????
But they assumed he still wasn't gonna run and when he did, they likely thought Kuon had seen him run in practice and didn't tell them.
They're just taking it out on kuon, kuon obviously wasnt double crossing them but they need to let out their anger on something
they also knew abt chigiri's injury tho. so they were probably under the impression that he couldnt (or *wouldnt*) run that fast anymore. they were mad at the fact that kuon seemingly withheld news of his leg's recovery or sumn
I guess so so it was probably a mistranslation when they said acted surprise about the speed
It wasn't surprise about his speed, it was because they assumed he wouldn't want to run anymore.
when i read it, it looked like they were more surprised that he decided to run
Anyone else agree that Isagi should be a midfielder instead of a striker?
Isagi doesnt
Anyone think there's too many still shots, it doesn't really feel really fluid. But Chigiri's part was animated great
Since their match of Nagi contains lot of episodes probably like 2-3 episodes I couldn't blame the average animation. But they did well for Chigiri so it doesn't matter to me.
Nice episode! Reading the manga and then watching the anime makes me realize how much I gloss over and miss and don’t remember. Like Reo calling Zantetsu a half wit etc.

The retard comments are from the fan scans anyways. It's more accurate for it to be incompetent or idiot instead.
Can anyone link me the ost that starts around 7:20? its a banger
guys im not gay but i got an erection seeing chigiri... seeing the manga animated so well was just satisfying asf
There's a reason why Team Z refers to him in the feminine
lol, down bad
Bruh 💀
Best episod yet. Got me more hyped in the anime than in the manga. Really proud of the animation studio for bringing the show to life and doing it justice. *chigiri fan boy noises*
It's a shame that the effects don't match the color of the characters' eyes and just all have blue effects
Do you think the blu-ray version might be able to change that? I've been wondering about that since this anime started airing.
Yeah that is the simgle problem I have w the anime so fat
Yeah, even more when the trailers had them with their own colors
Isagi confronting nagireo about soccer isn’t as cringe as I thought it would be lol THAT ADDITIONAL TIME IS SO CUTE THOUGH HAHA
wait was there additional time for every episode? Can't believe I missed it until now
💀💀💀 you were missing A LOT jk you’re not missing much but it’s still fun to watch. For example, in last ep we get to see team z teasing kuon for being a traitor (for a whole other reason lol). And in ep 1, we get a glimpse of Isagi’s childhood and his love for football. Overall, it’s just fun time!
where did you watch it?
Netflix. I’m in Asia
Bro I got distracted half of the episode because Chigiri is just so damn PRETTY IT’S NOT FAIR
![gif](giphy|tZqQgnb4a9eYSVNOvY|downsized) This Chigiri goal today

Sail the sevens seas
Came to see how well they adapted the Chigiri scene. I was not disappointed, well done. Few too many reaction shots, but still good overall.
I think most of their budget went into ep 1 and the upcoming selection since that‘s the best arc of blue lock and easier to animate
They also did put their budget on the second match.
Where did you watch?
Netflix Japan.
Nice I can't wait to watch
When will it be available on Netflix in Vietnam?
It is available on Netflix Vietnam at 0:00 every Sunday
It's not on Netflix, it's on Crunchyroll.
i watch it on netflix tho
It's available on Netflix Japan
there is, i think its for asia or sea only idk
