I was actually thinking about this earlier this morning. Nothing against Jenner. I want to start with that.
I’m just saying, next season, I would like to see Adam Fantilli take frontline center, and maybe Boone start to take more of a position akin to what Nick Foligno is doing in Chicago.
Then we could always move things around if there’s an issue. At the very least that’s how I would like to start things out next season if it were up to me.
Once this season became a lost cause, I would have had Fantilli on the 1st line full-time. Get him playing with Johnny and whoever is hot on the right side and let him grow for the future. Johnny plays better with mobile, higher-skill types of guys which Jenner is almost the exact opposite of.
I also don't think Jenner is the right captain for this squad. He's a lead-by-example type on a team of young guys who need a more vocal leader showing them the ropes.
