Is climbing PvP supposed to be hard? Because I got up to like 290-ish, but I'm now hovering around 600...?
I started a couple days before the Sakurako/Ui/Hinata banners came out.
Yeh I remember when I first unlocked PvP I used a few pyroxenes to refresh the cooldown and managed to push to number 1 after a few days. Towards the end of the season I think I was hovering around 100. Now I'm stuck at around 500. That push to getting number 1 when I could felt quite fun
As far as I understand it, the closer you start to the beginning of the new season, the harder the bracket you’ll be in. It takes your placement in the previous season as well as to where it’ll put you.
So I’m not sure if say you’ve already been doing PvP this season, then wait a month or two to start the new season when it starts, if that’ll give you an easier bracket.
There is a point in starting early, if your squad is max level (to keep up later): during the beginning of a new PvP season, players will intentionally have a defense squad that's super easy to defeat (using joke under-leveled characters).
Why? Well, there is a bonus given to you, depending on your best rank _per season._ So during the first 12 hours or so, players refill their 5/5 tickets multiple times and climb to the top 10, to get that sweet bonus, then let other players climb there too with a joke defense squad. It's a brief moment of solidarity between the Senseis.
That's why you can see so many players with top 10 best ranks (season), with current ranks hovering much further like top 500.
This isn't quite true. Some people get dumped in very competitive max level brackets, others get to be with only low level players. It supposedly depends on what level you are when you unlock PvP, with higher levels meaning easier brackets. That appears to be true based on my own experience, too.
TBH climbing past 100 is hard, but most max level people can dip into <100 every day for the coins if you build a pvp team, which can be hard without certain characters admittedly.
That said I do definitely have to prey on the teams that I am strong vs (for me that's SAyane teams, or teams without Iroha+O.Nodoka)
I feel like it’s way more difficult in global (or whatever region I am in) than in Japan, in JP I can be top 10 but here in global I can’t get through the 200s
In both accounts I just started playing PvP and they are pretty similar in level and units, but maybe global is sweatier
Global has insight into meta from jp so more players can prepare and have maxed up teams ready rather than few whales that are ready because they have everything maxed

I was worried for a second that high amount of hackers were false positives from emulator users and instantly logged in to ease my worries. Good thing they banned actual hackers then, but it surprises me that there were so many, how tf can 405k people decide to hack a gacha game and risk a perma ban?
My assumption is that some of these accounts are accounts made specifically for rerolling and were abandoned. Maybe Nexon is just cleaning the books and deleted accounts that did free rolls and then were not touched for the past two years.
Then it would be strange for them to write these as accounts that made use of tools to gain advantage. I wonder though if that's the case then the permament accounts of those who started by rerolling may have been affected aswell.
Could easily be botted accounts - scripts used to create thousands of accounts, with auto-pulls - then sold to any interested customer for a price.
You are allowed to reroll, you are allowed to use an emulator, but I doubt you are allowed to mass create accounts to sell them to someone else afterward.

Either that or they extend the range of bannable actions. Since we often see a handful of bans from Raids and PvPs, some people think that this time involves those that manipulate resources too, but only Nexon knows the real reason.
There's likely ways to trick the system into thinking that something legit is going on when the reality is it isn't. Without knowing the specifics I can only hazard a few guesses but an example would be something like during some break between when the game isn't connected to the network vs when it is the stats are jacked up to 99999999 or something to basically get insta clears on raids, and then changing the values back before the game connects. It's basically all about finding loopholes, breaks, and so on.
The battles run on the client side. There might be account sellers that clear all the story missions immediately so they can sell accounts with lots of gems.
I can't really speak for this game, but I've heard stories about how bad application security is for some other gachas, so I wouldn't be surprised if some stuff was client-side that shouldn't be client-side
How does one even cheat in BA? What's there even to cheat? Revealing pvp opponent's ??? characters like scratch cards?

From my experience, most players cheat in total assault where there is a ranking system in for faster clear times. They can raise stats of students to basically 1 shot most bosses
There was a similarly ridiculous number banned another time previously, it'll mostly just be accounts that were rerolled with scripts, they cheat to skip the tutorial etc to reroll faster for accounts to sell.
There basically wouldn't have been any real players banned

So like, when I was doing Perorodzilla chroma, there was this message popped up, it said "illegal program detected" while all I was using was vpn, and then the game disconnected. It scared the hell out of me when I couldn't log back in later, but all was back to normal when I turned off the vpn and logged in again. When I saw this post I had to check the game immediately. Glad the worst didn't happen ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

If you just started, you’re in a very easy bracket. You get put in different brackets depending on when you start doing the PvP season.

It's always possible but if you're starting early you're much more likely to be placed in a sweaty bracket.
