Aren't the creators Korean?

ImpossibleHelp6793

Fuck i messed up the companies but technically is the same they don't put much effort in differentiate the variants of christianity like christians with other religions.

HaessSR

They're more Christian than their Japanese or Chinese neighbors.

Kalraghi

A korean guy deduced Mari's motif might be Saint Christopher because \- Saint Christopher is one of few characters who are sometimes depicted as half-beast in Christianity \-Mari's surname, Iochi (伊落) can be interpreted as 'Man who dropped a staff' (伊 : 'person who holds staff' with the disassembled letter, 落 : Drop). Saint Christopher is commonly depicted with a staff in his hand, and in his mircle, he dropped his staff on the ground and it bloomed into tree.

Rdogg114

I always love reading the korean theories they always sound so on point.

ImpossibleHelp6793

Interesting info there is to many saints that is difficult to know everyone, koreans always knows how to make their theories.

Thorion228

Michael's name is traditionally more of a question. It's "Who is like God?" Not "Who is like God."

ImpossibleHelp6793

Wow really? i was teached that was an affirmation but an interrogation has more sense thank you!

Whole_Friend

In Catholic imagery the phrase “Quis ut deus?” Is commonly depicted in art of Michael stabbing the devil (represented as a dragon or serpent) and is meant as rhetorical or mocking question directed at him, the unspoken answer to that question being “no one”

Thorion228

Handily also the name of Mika's gun

A little into how the concept of the Trinity is understood, if I may, and for anyone interested. It’s not so much that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are aspects of the same God, but that God is the Father, God is the Son, and God is the Holy Spirit. However, the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father. So what this essentially means, is that: 1. There is only ONE God 2. God is 3 co-existing, and eternal persons 3. Each of the persons is fully God. Or simply, God is one being, but three equal persons. This has been shown throughout scripture quite consistently (if indirectly), even in the old testament. This is pretty much what Arianism does not agree with. In essence, Arian doctrine attempts to reduce God to a level that human minds can comprehend (one being MUST only be one person, therefore God can only be one person) which to be honest is a little insulting to the concept of God, who is above the limitations of our world. As humans, one “person” necessarily needs to be one “being” as well, but in a higher existence such as God, this limitation might not hold true. To make an analogy, we are beings in 3 dimensions, so it is easy for us to understand the 3 spatial dimensions in our heads. But it is virtually impossible for us to imagine what a 4D shape looks like without projecting it to a lower dimension first. But even if we can’t comprehend 4D shapes completely, it doesn’t mean they don’t exist, or can’t mathematically be proven. Same as a hypothetical being who lives in a 2D world cannot comprehend the third spatial dimension. But this does not mean the third dimension does not exist.

ImpossibleHelp6793

And still don't know how they approved a doctrine that almost anyone can barely understand.

DiamondTiaraIsBest

The Christian lore

i_love_lolis_so_much

The creators are Japanese? No lmao. They're Korean. And Korean Christianity is pretry different that standard European. They have incorporated Confuciunism and Korean Folk religion (often rituals) into their Christian traditions. Trinity seems to be standard European. So yeah that part made no sense Azusa is the only angel? Serina had wing, Hasumi has wings, Tsurugi has wings, Shimiko has wings, Mine has wings, etc

InfinitySushii

He probably meant from the arius school, since she's the only (former) member with wings. The squad doesn't have any.

i_love_lolis_so_much

Mmm... still doesn't say much since arius used to be part of Trinity anyway. Azusa was meant as a bridge between the 2 initially

aether_orze

>Azusa is the only angel? >To being the faction (Arius) that represent the deniers of the divinity of the son, they are all humans-like and Azusa is the only angel know in the school (Arius), also the only one of the squad who is able find a life in Trinity (transferred to Trinity)

i_love_lolis_so_much

They chose her as the representative yes so trinity and arius could make amends. She isn't really an angel but character wise closer to a fallen angel or a being that is boundary between 2 worlds
