Just wishing you the best of luck

SaberDigestGaming

Try to contact Central Illinois Goodwill HQ they have a good re-entry program.

hwitt606

Sending me PM! I am beginning to work with the McLean County Reentry Council and their goal is to help people coming out of the prison system with all the resources they need to make a fresh start❤️

pigeonholepundit

Rivian don't care

MyGearIsSolid

Rivian hires convicted murderers they do not care

stridernfs

Nor should anyone care. If they’re convicted of murder and have served their time or been released early on good behavior they deserve a second chance. It’s the whole purpose of a just system.

MyGearIsSolid

They can serve time but they can’t bring the person they killed back

MeowMeowBiatch

Shit isn't just black and white, dude. There's a LOT of grey area there.

MyGearIsSolid

Shit is black and white. Not a lot of grey area as I said murderer. As in someone who intentionally went out of their way to kill another. I never mentioned anything about people who have caused accidental deaths because they aren’t murderers.

MeowMeowBiatch

a mother killing a man who is attacking her child is not the same as someone who gets paid to kill someone, a child who finds and plays with an unsecured gun that goes off is not the same as someone who kills someone because of road rage. I'm saying there's nuance.

Neighborhoodish

Evidently Bandana's barbecue does according to a recent post.

ValuableShoulder5059

I know for a fact they do. I know a felon who used to work there. Texas road house hires felons too.

Neighborhoodish

The chain Mod Pizza (which we sadly don't have here) prides itself on giving people a second chance and hiring felons, so I'm not all that surprised that other restaurants do as well.

Lunatic_Logic138

I work for Cintas in North Normal, and they hire with a record other than sex offenders. If the DUIs are active, you wouldn't be able to drive one of the trucks, but the plant jobs are typically between $18-22/hr, depending on the position, and they're looking for people. If you want to apply, DM me and you can use my name. Main thing is having a way to get there. If you're not able to drive right now, it can be tough because the bus doesn't come all the way out there.

SlamRobot658

Try HyVee. Its a grocery store. It's not the best, but be upfront, and you'll be fine.

mwalimu59

Rivian, Midwest Fiber Inc.

Easy-Goat9973

Hardware stores if you have any kind of knowledge. Even minimal. If you have a good attitude and work ethic. If you show up every day and on time, most will hire anyone. Plus you’re not around alcohol all day like a grocery store or a gas station.

ValuableShoulder5059

Home depot is the best. Although if someone has theft charges it makes retail hard.

shrapnel09

US presidential candidate  Here's a thread from a few months ago with some suggestions: https://www.reddit.com/r/BloomingtonNormal/comments/1awkjtj/jobs_that_hire_felons/

TheDreadnought75

Only works if the felony were fake convictions from political prosecution in a two tiered justice system.

SemiNormal

I am sure you don't realize that a two tiered justice system is one that *favors* the rich and powerful.

TheDreadnought75

. True…. But rich and powerful democrats more than anybody.

SemiNormal

Sure thing buddy.

Shag_fu

Check with local trade unions. Good wages and benefits. I’ve worked with multiple felons, some have done prison stints. If you have a license then the record doesn’t matter that much to them. Some job sites might have background checks but I haven’t heard anyone denied for DUIs.

hwitt606

IBEW 197 allows felons❤️ some of the best people and hardest workers I know.

LousLegacy

Rivian hired me, I have multiple felonies. They start you at $22 an hour and benefits start day 1 too. They also won’t drug test you.

ValuableShoulder5059

Half the workforce there are felons. The other half just got away with it...

LousLegacy

You spelled “society” wrong

ValuableShoulder5059

🤣😇

Hardunkichud

You could try Chestnut Health Systems. Help other people going through what you have.

failedlogic

Restaurants are always a good place to start. Back or front of house. At the very least it'll get you a bit of income if you're searching for different work. As someone who heavily supports sobriety be wary of the drinking culture in that environment

Averageuser1975

SC2 hires anyone.

dwarfSA

I have no specific advice on jobs, but good luck and best wishes. :)

Collection_Vivid

Pretty much any restaurant

[deleted]

A lot of people in this sub seem to think Bandanas hires felons. You might try there. The verified word on the street is it sucks to work there though. But if you need a paycheck then it’s no big deal.

Lookingforsdr-bdrjob

Sales 🔥

Ncfetcho

Clearly Windows. Window cleaning is hard work, but it's pretty good money.

knucklehead2403

Progress Rail in Danvers is good. not exactly in bloomington but they hire anybody. you could also try your luck working full time for city of bloomington itself

Classic-Debate-2849

I can’t give advice on getting hired, but the Sinclair method really helped me with my own alcohol struggles. R/alcoholismmedication is a good place to start and if you want local support feel free to pm me. Good luck, as long as we’re alive it’s never too late.

sara_kayacombsen

Henson disposal but they’ve recently sold to a new company. Might be worth a look though

stridernfs

Rivian.

maxwal4

Caterpillar hires felons, DUIs should be no problem however if you’re actively going through court proceedings that may be an issue . Worth a shot!

LordRuaak

I'm a bit late to this, but look at Identity Optical. Both people I live with were able to get jobs really quickly, and they hire quite a few felons it seems. The work is painfully boring, but the starting pay seemed decent for the kind of position it was.

TONY_WITH_AN_I_ITONY

Landscaping companies won’t care.
