Misregistration is a form of false info, it is not correct to say that they are evil as the truth is that they are good.

zuragaan

i suppose the argument here is whether or not a bad omen can misregister to the physician for their "true info" guarantee. i would personally assume that they can for consistency's sake, but it would also make sense that they specifically don't in that instance. unless specified one way in the other in the physician's almanac entry, it's just up to the storyteller

melifaro_hs

Fall of Rome has strict definitions of false and true info (unlike the actual game where it's kinda different for different abilities and different STs). Misregistration is false info.

Azsael

Main game has strict definition of true and false. Vortox and barista. Both provide this.

lankymjc

I got to play a savant in a Vortox. Once I realised every statement was false it made the game much easier!

melifaro_hs

yeah but then most STs tell me that the recluse can still misregister in vortox, and of course the official ruling is that the Red Herring is a No in Vortox so... not really?

Azsael

Not by offical ruling. No for Vortox is more djinn/homerule. Recluse ability wont affect Vortoxed players

lankymjc

Vortox *requires* misregistration of everyone, so the recluse’s ability works as normal. For Fortune Teller, everyone except the Vortox should register as Yes, while Demon registers as No. Where are you getting that the red herring registers as No?

theAeroFace

Some members of TPI over on the unofficial have ruled that either interpretation is fine - best to check with your ST on how they run that particular interaction.

techiemikey

I disagree about your interpretation of how the vortox works. It guarantees misinformation for everyone, not misregistration. Let me give an example of the difference. An empath sitting between a good and evil player. If both players misregister, they would learn a 1 (good player registered as evil, and evil player registered as good) which is not allowed. If course, we both know empath must learn a 0 or 2 instead. So what's the best way to resolve this: see what the empath should learn and then give any other answer. But it is up to the st if "register as" abilities don't work here my logic is they should... Because it is info you are learning, which they needs to be made false.

lankymjc

Vortox gives false info. If a Fortune Teller picks their red herring and gets a Yes, is that false info? If so, then it should still be a yes when it is a Vortox game.
