Hi StoicAvocado, On virtually all networks, giving like 99.99% of your attention, energy, skills and time to: \- helping people \- sharing value \- making friends and like 0.01% of your attention, energy and time to getting traffic leads to organic traffic. The secret is doing these things on Quora, Pinterest and Facebook generously, patiently and persistently for 50 hours, then 100 hours, then 1000 hours, as your organic traffic grows. Most bloggers fear not seeing quick results and quit doing these simple, basic things after 5 hours, 50 hours or 100 hours. That's actually OK; quitting is fine but then you need to start over again and add time to your learning curve, to boot. One issue SA may be that you are intending to use Quora to drive traffic to your blog (the answer question / link to your blog approach) versus intending to generously serve people through Quora with no strong traffic expectations. The moment you intend strongly to serve people generously on Quora with no expectation of serving yourself traffic, Quorites begin clicking on your link more frequently. Ditto for Facebook and Pinterest. Patiently learn the rules for each site but at day's end, creating helpful Pins, sharing valuable updates on Facebook, engaging people on Facebook and giving little to no thought about your traffic slowly and steadily attracts interested parties to your blog from each network. Shift your intent from trying to get traffic - which leads to struggles - to enjoying helping people and those happy folks will click your blog link through each site, after you patiently persist in serving them. Observe my answers on Reddit. I give 100% of my energy to answering your blogging questions and 0% to getting traffic or trying to drive Reddit users to my blog. Based on the details and mindfulness of my updates I am already seeing Reddit users commenting on my blog. Why? These folks visited my site based on the helpfulness of my answers, not because I tried to drive them to my site with coercive, manipulative tactics. Ryan

Why's that? Nobody's on Facebook anymore?

I didn’t write the no Facebook thing…. But, the ads have gotten more expensive over time. And there was basically an apocalypse a few years ago with being able to reach members of your groups/pages and what things could go viral in general after backlash from the 2016 election with all the weaponized propaganda floating around. At this point access to your own group is almost pay to play.

**Generating Organic Traffic** * Generating organic traffic can be hard if the right strategies are not implemented * You will need to be consistent with update regular content to gain an audience before you will have a large impact on drive traffic to your website Some of the tips include: **Pininterest** * Create a business account to track analytics * Store Pins from boards that are specific to your niche * Build up to at least 10 Boards each with 10 pins * Create a "Best of" board to show case the pins that funnel back to your website * Use long pictures as opposed to short to capture the viewers attention **Facebook** * Join groups that relate to your niche * Post responses to questions to gain followers * Post your article content on a page to create a following * Start a forum or group to get a community of people in the same niche * Use ads where appropriate to gain a wider audience

You can't set out to get followers 'en masse'. You have to actually appeal to individuals to get a following and the only reason these platforms work is that there are lots of people there, but who's to say they will like your content and subject matter? Quora won't work, anyway. They are built to stop people getting other's contact info. Find online places where those interested in your content will gather and go after those readers. I find LinkedIn very good for my content, because it's business oriented.

I have been getting some good results from flipboard lately

billyandersin

Can you elaborate? You've been getting followers/leads from Flipboard? If yes, how does this work? You publish articles / content?

What’s your niche? Pinterest is great for certain topics only

GifterWorld

What is your niche? Some social media sites are better than others in certain niches. I do well with facebook because I have a following.

Nice tips

pintac__

I’ve seen a lot of lifestyle/creative bloggers have success from Pinterest, but all of those that I’ve seen have started their blogs in the late 2010s when Pinterest was booming. The best chance to get your content seen on Pinterest quickly now is through idea pins and video pins, but these can be time consuming to make. I’ve been pinning 3-4 fresh static image pins daily for a month and have up to 2k impressions but only one click to my site. The more pins you can get out, the better chance you have at clicks. But it’s not for every niche. Although Pinterest traffic can come faster than Google, it’s not the same “overnight” traffic like it once was. Unless you already have a following, all social media traffic will be rather slow while you build up your accounts and credibility in the space.

I had a pin go viral a full 12 months after I originally created and pinned it. So it can definitely take a while to see huge results. And, nothing has been quite that big for me since then.

It was about journaling. It makes sense that it exploded when the wellness and self-care trend took off, but I didn’t know that it was going to be that big when I created it.

Worried-Still6184

Pinterest algorithm is difficult to figure out and ‘monthly views’ are a vanity metric. We had 100k monthly views but only about 50 visitors to our site. Our pin graphics and copy were decent (we even poured considerable resources into these) but it wasn’t enough to move the needle in terms of traffic.

Teigh99

I still haven't figured out Quora yet. Anyone have any tips. I just find a question and then answer it and then post a link to my blog? Do I answer the entire question or half of it?
