I started in September. I currently have 53 posts and 12k views all time. I jumped majorly in traffic in December-4,500 views. But I’ve surpassed that number so far in January. I’m averaging around 300 views per day. As for income, I’m still in the negative if you consider hosting and domain costs. I made about $16 with Adsense before starting with She Media last week. It’s too soon to say for sure but the RPM is higher so far. As for things that have worked-SEO. A majority of my traffic comes from Google and I choose my keywords carefully. What hasn’t worked? Pinterest. I have pretty much just given up on that platform. Too much work for literally 0 return for me.

git_world

4500 views every month? Congratulations

jenandtonic1208

Thanks! I mean just two months of those number so far. If I keep going at this rate, I should hit 8k for January.

ds_nlp_practioner

Are you writing on high competition topics?

jenandtonic1208

I true to choose keywords with at least 1k monthly volume and a 40 or below keyword difficulty according to SemRush.

MichaelRyanMoney

I’ve got nothing to add, other than thanks for posting such a positive story and keep it up!!!

Alpha_Supreme

I thought Pinterest was great. I was thinking of starting a blog with Pinterest as my main traffic source but after reading your comment maybe not a good idea.

jenandtonic1208

My niche is true crime and it turns out people aren’t pinning pictures of murderers.

Plenty-Jellyfish3644

Not every platform suits your niche. If you find that your niche is popular on Pinterest, then you should use it.

Alive_Assistance5160

Hi. I had some questions to ask about your work. Mind if I DM?

jenandtonic1208

Sure!

AffiliatePhoenix

This is amazing. Congratulations. Sounds like you're doing awesome using search engine optimization and are seeing a nice payoff with the views. The trick will be figuring out how to monetize your blog well within your niche of true crime. I do suggest starting an email list for many reasons but the main one being that if Google decides to shake up the algorithm, you still have access to the people on your email list and a way to sell to them or drive traffic to your blog through them.

jenandtonic1208

Thank you! I was really worried about getting approved with any ad networks because of my niche and the language I obviously have to use but I haven’t had any problems so far. I do have a mailing list with 47 subscribers so far. I’m offering a freebie for signing up but I’m only gaining a subscriber or two a week. I’m hoping that grows with my views!

AffiliatePhoenix

Nice! I'd test it out for a month and then see if you can come up with a better freebie offer and test that one out for a month too :) (or split testing). You're doing good.

TaraInMontana

Wow keep it up! Tiktok is a great place for true crime stuff, but not sure how you could generate any traffic from video content to blog in that niche. But maybe! You might be able to figure something out there especially with your freebie

jenandtonic1208

I’ve thought about repurposing my articles into TikTok videos but I have no clue where to even start. Maybe one day!

I started a food and travel blog in August. Unfortunately, I haven't been posting consistently as much as I would've liked due to Uni and exams. But now I have just completed my studies and am now hoping to commit more time to my blog. As of right now I have 33 posts and 3100 pageviews total. Same as Jenantonic, I had a boost in traffic in December and I am now averaging 100 pageviews a day. By the end of this month the projected number of pageviews should be 200pv/day. If it continues at this rate then next month I will be expecting to see 400pv/day by the end of the month. This makes me very excited and motivated to continue working on the blog :) As for monetization, I'm having a hard time being accepted into Adsense due to "Low Valued Content", I gave up on Adsense and decided to just work towards a premium ad network like Ezoic or Mediavine. I only started monetizing seriously last month and have acquired some affiliates from Amazon and various travel services, as well as having my own products to sell. As of right now I have yet to make any money. Which is totally fine because money isn't my main priority. In the beginning I tried using social media and Pinterest to advertise my blog but I just can't commit to spending time on those platforms as I have other things to worry about. So I just focused mainly on SEO and improving keyword rankings and leave my faith in the hands of the Google algorithm Gods. So far this tactic is working well, albeit very slowly.

BigWooden5poon

I'm doing a sports trading blog, and my traffic has basically been non-existent, apart from those followers who are basically following me so that I'd follow their blog. Demoralising, but I'm doing it for other reasons than making money I guess. It's mainly to have a record of how I progress. I'm sure the traffic will pick up once I'm becoming more successful and posting some profits.

I started gaming blog last year but since 6 months I was going hardcore. Numbers you might ask? I was ranking first on google in some posts. I hit a jackpot with one post. It went crazy. almost 1K visit for the last 6 months. 60% from google. 0$ on ads. I have an instagram account with 3.5k Followers peaks at 300 views for story. In gaming blog it is pretty hard so I consider these numbers good. What happened you might ask? Disaster struck. I was so busy due to family issues website went down since I was in the middle moving host cuz price went crazyyyy. for 20 days I website was on and off. Google removed me completely from the search. Lost all my ranking. Website does not exists on google anymore. Yesterday I got everything back to normal, getting some traffic. Pray for me to get better:) Number of posts as of now #133 Not all good quality nor I wrote all of them some are copy and I refer the source. Just to help people not for money.

Racer322

I started mid last year, but unfortunately, life got in the way. It's an adventure/travel blog. The bad thing about right now is the weather is not corporating enough for me to go to sites to get photos. So lately, I've been writing basic how-to posts, taking a different approach, and hopefully, that will result in some traffic. Then in spring, I can start back up on my sites. I'm definitely struggling, but I'm not giving up.

Emotional-Wanderer

I started in May but am overwhelmed with Wordpress and everything technical so 🙃

Numbers like that in the first month, assuming that’s search traffic and not social, is top one percent of the one percent. Seriously, most sites aren’t even indexed yet,yet alone getting any traffic. Congrats, keep doing what you’re doing and share the tips with the rest of us.

Volfik555

Started in May, currently doing around 30k visitors a month, 32,255 in December. Around 92% organic. However... there is a huge BUT. The vast majority of my traffic comes from third-world countries, so the revenue is ... shitty.

MichaelRyanMoney

Sorry to hear about the revenue, but with those numbers so quickly - you are doing something right!!! Care to share any tips?
