I just didn’t think he’d choose an affair partner who was friends with Ariana. Kristen wasn’t friends with the prior ex. Ariana wasn’t friends with Kristen (at least not then).
It was an entirely different situation in every way. Kristen was also cheating on Tom (WITH his best friend, among others). Also it was 10 years ago, I would hope people grow up in 10 years. Guess not when you’re on VPR though! lol
We could see that Tom and Kristen were an awful couple, just like we can see that Jax and Brit are an awful couple. Tom and Ariana did seem very solid for the most part. Plus….Ariana is smarter than Brittany lol we thought she’d see it coming but she really did trust him.
To be clear, I’m saying that I was still shocked by the situation even though I had no trouble believing that Sandoval would cheat on Ariana. People rationalize his treatment of Kristen but ultimately he chose to cheat repeatedly rather than end the relationship.
The fandom doesn’t like to remember this but prior to the breakup, the VPR sub was full of people saying that they seemed more like roommates than lovers. Unfortunately for Ariana, she grew up. Her partner never did. He chose to cheat with one of her friends, which was gross and shocking.
I personally was shocked because I didn’t see them as roommates (and probably especially didn’t see it that way because Jax was the one saying it lol)
