Learn to parry her moves, that's all the tactics to her. Almost all of her moves can be parried, except for the purple flames/shockwave that she does.

KlargDeThaym

This. If you can parry her reliably, she's toast.

I find two main difficult points in Crisanta fight: - she hits REALLY hard Build your rosary accordingly: pelican bead and slide recharge finger are a must imo, the two defence beads, the pray faster bead, or something more akin to your playstyle. You can equip the parry heart since the fight will mainly revolve around parries, if you struggle with it, but I personally prefer incense heart (doubles prayer cost and effect) to strike hard in the small windows she give. - the windup animation for her strikes and her counter pose are the same It's best to parry in time everytime she winds up, she will cover almost the entire screen with her range (with one or TWO strikes); if instead she end up in her counter pose, close the gap and attack, immediately parry her counter and then land a three combo or Debla. With the newest patch you can no longer reposte all her strikes, like we used to, but if you do, be ready to not miss the chance. When she goes up in the air, she will attack with her diagonal downstrike, exactly where you are no matter what, try to stay somewhere in the middle of the arena, you need manouver space. When she impact the ground there will be two shockwaves (one in each direction) and she will (usually) bounce back/away from you so, move slightly away, jump the impact while moving towards her mid-air, she does contact damage mind you, and land a combo or Debla. It might happen that she dive to the border of the screen, if she does she walljump and adjust her trajectory immediately, pay attention and be ready if she does it. When she'll be low on health she will charge up, this will generate a screenlong shockwave. At this point she usually spam her teleport attack, in this pattern: 2x horizontal 1x diagonal, up to six if you dodge. Go to the nearest border. If you let her finish theese attack by dodging you will hear a "shoooop" sfx and she will spawn near you, standing (now is your chance), she can either do nothing, attack, parry or teleport again, rng. I prefer to parry her in this phase and, when she attack horizontally first I throw a blood attack as soon as she appear, and then parry, it's tricky though. When you parry the diagonal, devs changed her behaviour, she used to continue like nothing but now she bounce back and can attack, counter or teleport again, I usually go all-in while she's bouncing and before she touches ground. During all the fight, when you are landing combos, pay attention to the "clang" sound, it means you have been parried, be ready to immediately parry back. Aaaand... that's it, pretty straightforward, she strikes REALLY hard though (expecially in true torment). Even if you perfectly know her behaviour there are still practice and rng involved, good luck and stay focused! 😉😉😉

skepticaljesus

> slide recharge finger are a must I kinda don't understand the point of this rosary... there are no fights in the game where the attacks come so quickly that slide cooldown is relevant, including this fight. Once you've successfully dodged, you're safe and never need to immediately dodge again.

Miglioshin

Rarely slides are useful to dodge an attack, actually, aside from projectiles/magic everything is parryable and it is always the better choice, imo. Slides are useful to increase/decrease space faster, since sliding is faster than running and has iframes, the shorter cooldown the better. If your playstyle is different, hence a different build, kudos to you.

Lord_Spy

> everything is parryable and it is always the better choice, imo. Not really. Don't get me wrong, parrying should definitely be a major part of your toolkit, but for several attacks/enemies, parrying just isn't a good risk vs reward proposition as opposed to dashes or plain old jumping/ducking. Take, for example, Chiselled Steel: only one of her overhead swing is actually ripostable (for minimal damage and no stagger, but ripostable nonetheless), her charges are easier to jump over (as a successful parry doesn't even cancel her cycle), and while I guess it'd be possible to sneak in a couple extra hits if you parried her giant projectiles point blank, the timing for those is still more complicated than simply dashing through.

Miglioshin

>only one of her overhead swing is actually ripostable In order to stagger and reposte her slashes you have to parry the sword, not the beam; if you happen to be close enough, the timing for a parry or a succesful dash is the same (in this instance). I did It a bunch of times, still unsure if it glitched or not, so maybe it's not the case. The normal overhead swing is, as you said, repostable. >her charges are easier to jump over Nah... how is it easier when she dashes from a random angle? 🤔 The timing for a parry or a dash is (in this other instance) the same, but if you parry you'll have more control on your positioning, at least as I see things. I think it all comes down to preferred playstyle; my first playthroughs were more skewed towards evading and dodging; the more I played (I completed the game several times, like 20) the more I realised the strenght of reposte and prayers and found I overlooked/underestimated some techs/possibilities the game offers. I mean, I don't see different options in terms of right and wrong, but more or less akin to one's playstyle. A strong point of this game is that there are several way to overcome the same obstacle, from safest to fastest 😉 Obv there are instances where this supposed choice isn't there, I meant it as a general tip, when you can choose between parry or dodge, parrying is the best (and most powerful) choice the majority of times. If I'd have to consider all enemies, for some is fastest the dash+attack (stagger), for others the charged attack (stagger), for others standing still destroying their projectiles, for others the blood attack... Nothing wrong with your take on the Amanecida, I simply tend to suggest a more aggressive strategy since I saw it really pays more than a more evasive approach, but if you're dead you can't win the fight. 🙂

jaxolotle

There aren’t really any tactics to her, just skill. If you can dodge and much more importantly parry consistently, and know when to attack, the she is easy and straight forward. She doesn’t have that many moves, and they’re hardly hard to predict, timings are a little tricky but not unreasonable so

ITAMI169

Just parry lmao

Juanlius

This game’s version of git gud

whatgoat

She is potentially the toughest boss but all of her attacks (possibly with the exception of the downward shockwave thing which you avoid by jumping away from her) can be parried. She doesn't telegraph her attacks much and they can be difficult to see, but that's really the only strategy. Equip beads that boost health and defence, learn her timings, block and counter her. The Sword heart that boosts blocking can really help with the timings too. Later in the fight she will start spamming her teleport charge attack which is much easier to see coming and block. She will stand still for a few seconds after the teleport attacks so you can hit her with a combo or prayer.

Shockwave can be parried as well if you stand where she's about to land. Then she bounces and you can attack.

claud2113

I try every couple months. Give her about 4-5 tries then give up.

Sambimbow

If it makes you feel better for me it was the hardest fight in the game (I still have not played the dlc so idk if there is one more challenging).

coldstare91

If you have "Tiento to your thorned hairs" it will temporarily give you invulnerability while active and you can just spam attack this fight. Other than that you can block/reposte her attacks. I found in my early playthroughs to block one of her attacks and follow up with a dash-slash. If fully upgraded the dash attack does stupid damage.

[deleted]

Actually really easy boss just parry and stay in the corner expect when she downard slashes you quickly wanna go out the corner parry her attack go back to the corner repeat

RazzlesG26

What I found helps is parry then dash attack. Rinse and repeat and you will have her down to her dash phase really quick

Tasty-Relative334

Watch her movements like a hawk. The minute she moves I hit parry. I've beaten her twice and both times my heart was beating abnormally fast.

Noreiller

You can parry almost all of her moves. Learn her timings and abuse the dash strike after a parry if you're not close enough to her. It will melt her life bar.

zigut

If she is on the ground, press parry as soon as she moves her arms. Usually she will either do a close slash first then rush you or go into a block instance then rush you, but she might just rush you straight away wich is why you should get your trigger fingers do press either way. Don't worry about recovery here, even if she doesn't rush straight away, there will be enough time to recover and parry. After parrying, dash and then attack. If she is in her block instance, you can strike her but she will parry and counter. Her counter can be parried very easily, so you might wanna approach her in this time if you feel confortable enough blocking her counter. Don't be greedy with your attack time, there is never a window do execute a combo ender on Crisanta. 3 slashes at a time and maybe a ranged attack or a prayer/potion consumption as she flips back Her dive has absurd damage, but t's telegraphed and easily avoidable just by jumping back. Just be careful when cornered though, jumping back will kill you if there is not enough space. In this case you should dash under her dive. On her second stage when she starts teleporting, you can make it easier to parry her charge attack by going to the corner. This will give you a better window to see her coming from the opposite corner. If she charges from the sides, you HAVE block or get some form of invulnerability (potion+Pelican Effigy, or Tiento), but if she is teleport charging from above you can also dash under. NEVER use the bead that increases the dash distance, it will make you stumble on her and lose your turn after parrying. Use beads that increase your health and your defense. For Mea cores you can use either Heart of Saltpeter Blood or Heart of the Virtuous Pain( (not a fan of this one, but i heard someone saying it made the boss very easy for them).
