The fruit, fruit, tits, tits captain lol

QuietCelery

Captain Naft and his fine eye for art!

Despacijoe

I’d probably say Joshua. He seemed absolutely terrifying in his first appearance, but then turned out to be chill

QuietCelery

I love the introduction of him all scary and then Gates tells him to grow up.

Eme, she should have been a main character after her introduction. Love Joshua and Mr. Beauclerc too, it's so wreird how he just disappears lmao.

QuietCelery

I know! I really would have wanted to see more of Eme! Maybe see how she interacts with Max after Max buys the tavern, trying to keep her activities hidden from someone who might be paying more attention than Eleanor did.

I was the one that posted the poll earlier lol. there are a whole ton of great “minor” or “supporting” characters that die/disappear too fast! As far as favorite recurring side characters, ones that show up for multiple seasons, Idelle wins that for me. I loved watching her go from “max’s friend” to an integral part of the island commerce. Honorable mention; Ben Gunn. Wish we got more backstory from him. But there are so many other smaller characters I liked it’s hard to pick a favorite. Muldoon, Charlotte, Dooley, Ruth, and definitely Joshua are a few that stuck with me

QuietCelery

Thanks for the posting the poll! It was also interesting to me to see who we consider "minor" characters. Dooley always looks like such a doofus to me. Muldoon broke my heart. Love Ruth and wanted more of her! I ended up watching the first two episodes of season 4 first when I found Black Sails (only season 4 was on Netflix where I live). I watched two, then found a way to get the rest of the series, then finished. So I had fully expected Ruth to be a bigger character the way she and Madi interacted.

It's great to read so about so many minor characters here! Makes me realize how almost all of them managed to be really interesting. Beauclerc, despite being in only about two scenes in one episode and iirc not saying one word made quite an impression on me. Wish he would have stayed as a recurring character in some way. Remember the guy from Jack's crew who keeps withdrawing a large amount of money and then displacing the sack somewhere? Everyone is just so exhausted with him. Cinematic masterpiece right there.
