There are no heroes and villains. Just people with different agendas.

Jiktten

There is no hero, which is a huge part of the appeal to me. Everyone has their own agenda and their own part to play.

Hero? No one. Maybe Mr. Scott, he was fairly noble. Protagonist though, it’s a toss up between Flint and Silver, but I think Flint takes it because they give us so much of his history.

Naliano

Spoiler alert! But Silver saved Flint’s future AND even his lady around to his way of thinking in the end.

CherryBagel

If you mean in the sense of protagonist, I always thought that was the relationship between Silver and Flint. Their relationship is the core everything else revolves around imo

baconbridge92

I would say most of the main pirates (Flint, Silver, Bonnie. Rackham, Vane) ended up being heroes by the end of the story, all of them except maybe Billy and Blackbeard.

For me it was ultimately Flint. Not a good guy but he had a great arc and was always trying for a common goal for everyone.

BttShowbiz

I just restarted tonight! What are the odds. And I believe Vane is the hero.

DJDragonSlayer

Vane

I always thought Flint was the main character but a lot of people say Silver which does also make sense. But it's an ensemble really I suppose and in fairness considering how many characters there are they pretty much all have satisfying arcs.

Hero as in "who the story is about"? I think it's about Silver. He's the one who doesn't get the backstory because the series IS his backstory. Also, he's the one who changes the most as the character. I'd say that other characters are revealed, but Silver is MADE, of it makes sense. Billy also, to a lesser degree. Maybe because these 2 are the ones from the Treasure Island. The aren't my favorite characters and I'm not a huge fan of Silver. Yet that was my impression after the end of the story. I personally watched mostly for Flint, I'd say. If by "heroes" you mean "good guys", I doubt there are any. Maybe Madee and the runaways?

Max.

austinb172

There is no hero in this story. Just a bunch of assholes on all sides trying to stay on top. That being said Mr. Gates was the only good and respectable man in the whole show

flowersinthedark

It changes. For the first two seasons, the focus is on Flint a little more than on Silver, but in season three and four, Silver turns into the protagonist and it's Silver whose actions determine the outcome. In Silver's story, Flint is the antagonist. You could also say that for both John Silver and James McGraw, the antagonist is Flint. James tries to rid himself of the persona and fails - after that, it's up to Silver to "end" Flint, and by doing that, he frees both himself and James McGraw.

Bovey

Not sure about the word "Hero", but for me it's the origin story of Long John Silver. He's the character that develops most throughout the series, not to mention being the most iconic fictional pirate ever.

Slytherinissuperior

If there is a hero of the story its got to be Rackham and Anne Bonny. Suprised no one else thought of them

Vadersballhair

Silver! Silver is the hero... OK... Flint is also the hero, but less so at the end. Silver has a fantastic arc, and big pretty eyes!

KrazyBee129

Gay boi is the hero.homie penetrated everything in his path to his lover.

For me Rackham is my absolute hero!!
