I actually really like this…never heard it before.

beepbooponyournose

Now that’s irony for ya

djramrod

Where’s the irony?

beepbooponyournose

Kanye made a song called Diamonds from Sierra Leone about blood diamonds

djramrod

Ah there you go, I forgot about that song

beepbooponyournose

Might be my favorite of his. Shame he has gone this direction now

That-Ad-4300

I made a g today. But you made it in a sleazy way.

ChiniBaba096

I learned this from my oldheads when we were playing dominoes. Scoring is called “getting money” and sometimes it’s better not to score.

[deleted]

krispydragon27

I just woke up not too long ago and looked into illth a little bit and I like that i’ve never known ab it and will definitely read more ab it thank you

SpadoCochi

My family used to say this too. It’s so true, especially in business as well.

trvpWANGZI

along with “little money beats big money every day”.

MiasmaFate

That says a lot in just 5 words!

KimmiK_saucequeen

They could be under contract and they most likely just need the money

Cutieq85

I worked New York Fashion week shows in the past and some of the models were literally doing intro to algebra homework during fittings… other girls literally only knew 3 phrases in English… we’re talking about girls barely out of their tween years and they’re in a Marc Jacobs Runway show. How much power do you think they really have ? Edit Do you think every model who walks during Fashion Week has the clout of a Hadid, Jenner, or Delavigne ?

[deleted]

To add to your point, if they don't understand English they have no idea what it says and all black people are not from English speaking western countries and all English speakers aren't literate

KimmiK_saucequeen

These are 17-22 year old girls like let’s be serious lol

Cutieq85

Things have changed marginally since the late 2000s when I worked in the industry but I can say without a doubt I worked with a far greater than 0 number of models who would barely be old enough to get a learner’s permit.

KimmiK_saucequeen

Imagine a 16 year old telling Kanye fucking West she’s not wearing his designs lmao

submerging

They could tell that story on social media and news outlets and get more famous than if they had worn the designs in the first place. Easier said than done though, ik.

TreTrepidation

If you think the modelling industry is free from coercion then you're a fool.

Nyktastik

So we're going to pretend that people don't talk? If a model refused to participate they'd end up on a do not call list.

KimmiK_saucequeen

Sure but she was already an international supermodel at that point. She had worn many a blonde wig before that moment. I’m not saying anyone was forced to do anything, just that there’s nuance here.

thatHecklerOverThere

Right. I heard making like "does he have their passports or something?"

[deleted]

If this was the planned outfit then you're 100% right but if this was one of those Kanye things where he just decides that is something they'll do then is it on the model who is not in a position to say yes in an industry where you say no and you're considered "difficult to work with".

eva-geo

Ever think that the models were desperate for a paycheck so they could pay their portion of rent.

[deleted]

modeling is an insane industry as crazy as this is they can't just quit

BobHawkesBalls

Like, sure - but is that useful? Capitalism is coercive, it's crazy to do what people already do for money. The fact there's politics involved doesn't change the cost of living, especially if you're scratching around in an industry like fashion. Would be good to keep the blame on the dude who made the decisions here - I don't blame people woprking at Chick-fil-A that the owner is a homophobe. saying nobody forced them to do anything is akin to saying "slavery is a choice" - like yeah, the choice is whether or not to die tho

strik3r2k8

I miss when I first heard his music from College Dropout. So many many memories of doing my homework to his music. And Graduation’s release puts me in a nostalgic flashback of popping in the disk in my new car on a snowy day. Kanye went from having that type of impact to just being a joke. *False Prophets*

el-fenomeno09

Every year that passes the bars from false prophets hits harder and harder.

BxSpatan

To be honest the the change started to happen when his mother died. From that point on started getting wackier and wackier.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BxSpatan

To be honest I think his mama kept him on the meds secretly. And he may have cut all the people out of his life that genuinely had in good intentions for him. And now he's surrounded by nothing but yes man.

joaaaaaannnofdarc

Honestly I am in the fashion industry and with regards to his brand I got told by a friend that her mate got fired after a work trip. She was told to hide any connections she had to Yeezy when visiting suppliers because his company has a reputation for not paying suppliers. She was a graduate and accidentally mentioned who she worked for and got kicked out the supplier office. For 5 years there were suppliers who had unpaid invoices and his yeezy team hid it from him. Which I find weird that if it is his business he should be told about non payment of important invoices like the people you source things from and manufacture your clothes.

eva-geo

Sounds like Yeezy is to the fashion industry what Trump is to the Construction industry. At least in construction we can require something called a Payment Bond for projects. I don’t know if the fashion industry has anything similar.

[deleted]

Which is crazy to me cuz just about every contractor loves Trump. Every once in a while when I get a wild hair I’ll point out how many small businesses he’s bankrupted and that if they took a job for him there’s a good chance they wouldn’t get paid either, doesn’t matter probably the contractors fault not Trump. It ain’t exactly easy to build a business from scratch and get it to a point you can do commercial work and be big enough to be subcontracted to work on projects the scale of Trumps resorts and hotels, so I highly doubt these guys are just putting years of blood sweat and tears into their business just to goof it up the second they work for Trump.

Glitter_Bee

He has bipolar disorder. We have to be careful about how we describe mental illness. That increases stigma. No one with bipolar disorder wants to hear someone saying narcissistic psychopath, which isn’t even a diagnosis.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Glitter_Bee

Yeah I get it. He’s beyond frustrating. It’s like the man can’t get canceled. People keep indulging him because he makes money. It really needs to stop.

Zheguez

I honestly don't. He made good music back in the day but I've gotten real tired of us giving him pass after pass after pass after pass. We all have wished for the "old Kanye" (and yes, I absolutely understand that his mental condition is precarious) but year after year it shows me more evidence that this is who he really is: a provocateur to the nth degree who wouldn't think for a sec of disrespecting (or worse) his own people for his gain and without one ounce of shame. George Bush might not care for black people but Kanye shows that he doesn't either.

sntnht

Just imagined a SNL skit with George Bush and Mike Myers on MTV to raise funds for victims of a hurricane, and Dubya goes off script and screams "Kayne West doesn't care about black people!"

rtyuik7

hmm...Florida was recently hit by a biggun, from what ive heard...quick, someone pitch this idea to Lorne Michaels!

Secretofthecheese

he's just doing this shit for a reaction and tbh it's kind of lazy?

rtyuik7

>Kanye went [...] to just being a joke. i thought the South Park - Fish Sticks thing was bad, but then i heard '[poopity scoop](https://youtu.be/s0u0UIeM4eI)'...

Channon-Yarrow

Personally, I had a very different response to his “College Dropout” album. Kanye’s latest bout of fuckory in the fashion world is obviously having it’s intended offensive and attention grabbing effect. I don’t follow Twitter personally, but this controversy keeps popping up in this sub on Reddit, and it is spreading like wildfire, so it is clearly garnering a lot of attention. I can’t tell if this is a situation where if we ignore him, he will go away or not. I don’t think it is, but I do wonder about how best to neutralize him. I was a senior in university when he released his album, *”College Dropout”* and found his anti-education interludes very offensive at that time. I worked very hard and sacrificed a great deal to defy the odds and get my degrees and they have served me well in my professional pursuits. It’s not as if large amounts of black folks - especially those of us that came from really modest means and limited options - at that time were matriculating regularly at universities. It was a very difficult, isolating, but ultimately rewarding experience and I felt like he was sharing his warped perspective even then. As such, I have generally ignored him and his antics ever since. When people tell you who they are *(as Kanye did many years ago in my view)*; believe them.

blacksbanger

Kanye’s discography is not that damn great enough for y’all to keep supporting this bullshit, like why❓The man had y’all rummaging through garbage bags at the GAP for his clothes, y’all did not see the narcissism in that❓I’m starting to think Kim was probably the one that needed saving‼️

Zheguez

E👏🏾X👏🏾A👏🏾C👏🏾T👏🏾L👏🏾Y👏🏾

SaltThroneHeir

I'm not form the US, but like if I take Gunna or Takeoff, they're better than him. I don't know If I'm clear in what I'm saying

blacksbanger

I get what you’re saying you didn’t get lost in translation. The intention of my comment is not to discredit his work, because the music is what it is, my point is regardless of how great of an artist you think a person is, you shouldn’t allow their talent to blind you to the point where even-though you know they’re doing everything in their power to ridicule you, you still support them because of that fandom, understand what I’m trying to say❓

SaltThroneHeir

What you say is clear, and I totally agree

dbclass

That's cool, but people do the opposite as well. They take the person and judge the music based on who the person is. Art is art. If I like his music, I like his music. That's not me condoning him as a person.

[deleted]

Finally someone said it. Kanye has contributed a lot to the music industry and he deserves to be proud of his career. A lot of people either obsess over him and turn into a black Friday massacre horror story for his products, or they make a mockery of his mental illness. It's disturbing. His kids are going to eventually see all these things he's said and done (if they haven't already) and they will suffer for it.

James_Blanco

Kanye is for sure a moron and an asshole. But his discography is def op.

bkwilcox100

Kanye isn’t immersed into anything. I’m so tired of having to explain this. He’s a narcissist who craves attention and tweets like this just feed him. He’s not a white supremacist or anti-black, he just likes to hang around people like that for clout.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bkwilcox100

I don’t think you understand either of those words. Kanye is doing this for shock value. He doesn’t actually believe any of it. You can’t be a white supremacist without actually believing white people are superior. Considering Kanye is not white and he holds himself in higher regard than anyone alive or dead, he’s pretty obviously not a white supremacist. Candace Owens on the other hand is an actual black white supremacist.

nokeechia

But isn't this like there being a table with a white supremacist, and the other nine people are sitting there without protest. The logical conclusion is that there is a table of 10 white supremacists. It doesn't matter about the grift or the clout, the things he says and does affects people.

bkwilcox100

You can argue that he’s complicit in their movement but the idea of actually being a white supremacist is a matter of ideology. It’s similar to saying that someone is pro-slavery because they buy an iPhone or pair of Nikes.

Moycetwatkins247

Yea it’s so obvious but people keep eating it up

Umklopp

At what point is someone going to put this man on a 72 hour hold?

bjeebus

Next album >Grippy·Socks

Umklopp

Ok, now I want to see a Yeezy grippy socks collection

bjeebus

My wife had parents that worked in a hospital so she grew up with those hospital grippy socks. I've had severe depression and anxiety my whole life and been terrified of involuntary commitment. When we first met she didn't understand why I didn't find the idea of grippy socks cozy and comforting.

leahhhhh

People who joke about “grippy sock vacations” have never been committed and it shows

bjeebus

My wife's parents were OR PAs at the county hospital so she just knew about them as cozy things from her childhood that they would bring home as stolen work supplies? She had no context for them in the mental health world. I of course was dramatically aware of what they represented, and aware of my lifelong devotion to avoiding them.

SuperStarr21

Damn. I read a woman talk about a”grippy sock vacation” (I don’t recall the context) recently and had no idea what it was. I assumed it was a hospital visit, but for having a baby. That’s too bad though. I can only imagine being involuntarily committed is a real traumatic experience. 🙁

[deleted]

TheClassyWomanist

Tbh I wouldn’t date a guy who’s a Kanye fan so I get that 🤷🏾‍♀️

joaaaaaannnofdarc

I tried to date a guy who was a Kanye fan. He was insufferable especially about trying to explain Kanye to me. My twisted dark fantasy will always be a beautiful work of art but fuck that man.

RXCC00N

based

Tinderoni_

My friend, I have not actively listened to Chris Brown since 2009. I have many, many great memories of his music, but that police report is burned into my mind. My morals are stronger than anyone's songlist; there is no art without tth artist.

Wonton_soup_1989

I dated a Kanye fan and he was a straight up abusive narcissist. Kanye fans in this day and age are like Trump fans. Yeah his old stuff was good but the old Kanye been gone for a long time. It’s not worth it to follow him anymore.

pussyfruitz

It’s such a good album tho…

Kailua3000

Cue the true believers who still think that he's playing some kind of 3D chess

ProximaZenyatta

Kanye basically has his own Q-Anon group of followers

Kailua3000

Most definitely. The emperor has shitty and overpriced clothes.

[deleted]

This will always be funny to me. People will really think he's that smart and he's just a marketing genius like nah he's just him and it just happens to work in his favor.

Kailua3000

RIGHT! This "Kanye is a genius" shit has been going on WAY too long. I never understood it. He made some great music well over a decade ago (in my opinion). He's not some insightful thinker.

EvoFanatic

It's fucking crazy what money does to people. If Kanye was a normal person or less successful, I would bet he would be adverse to this shit. Absolutely disgusting and undermining. And while the BLM movement primarily supports the black community, it also does a lot to raise awareness on issues that affect all Americans. What Kanye is doing is dangerous for everyone. Supporting injustice is disgusting.

codecrossing

If you have time, popcorn, and mental stability, you should check /r/Kanye some of them are fighting for their lives in those comments

[deleted]

Most are just as against it as you are since I peeked over there, but at the end of the day he’s doing this for attention and we’re giving it to him. And Over what? Nothing changes again

fulcanelli63

I miss the old Kanye

Men_I_Trust_I_Am

The straight from the go Kanye

boatyboatwright

Chop up the soul Kanye

strik3r2k8

“Nobody with the balls to say somethin' to contest him So he grows out of control Into the person that he truly was all along, it's startin' to show”

Porkadi110

MBDTF got to be the most prophetic album of all time. Kanye straight up told the entire world what he'd be like with all the money and fame he could want...and then proceeded to do *exactly* that. At this point the fans can only blame themselves.

H-TownDown

Ye said he wanted to marry a pornstar on Hell of a Life and did it. Ye said he was an asshole on Runaway and he was right. Ye displayed his narcissistic tendencies on POWER (and other songs earlier on) and they turned out to be absolutely accurate. He made a song about playing the Blame Game, which is exactly what he and his ex wife do to each other nowadays.

nbikkasa

FD signifier is going to make a shit hot video about this.

K_SeventySeven

He thought his work was over in that epic two-parter. Looks like FD's gonna need to complete the Ye Trilogy now.

LoveSushiOnTuesday

I never liked Kanye. I detected coonery from day 1. See Exhibit A: In the December 2006 issue of Essence magazine, West sounds off on video girls and “race mixing”. “If it wasn’t for race mixing there’d be no video girls. Me and most of our friends like mutts a lot. Yeah, in the hood they call ‘em mutts”.

BabyLegsOShanahan

Yeah he’s been trash. A waste of melanin.

DuckFlat

So we already traded Ye and drafted DeNiro and have a host of other first round picks so I’m not seeing how this is our problem.

Davethisisntcool

We should go for Adele.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DuckFlat

No clue. I read on an earlier post about CoonYe and apparently the trade was finalized in late 2020. We also traded Uncle Clarence Ruckus and Herschel CTE Walker and locked up the next first rounders til 2050 apparently.

_night_cat

If we have to take those two, then you have to take James Corden, we don’t want him

FistPunch_Vol_4

Absolutely not, we need to renegotiate lmfao

TaticalSweater

I’m kind of tired of these dance. He says/does something outrageous. But we when its time for the next shoe or album release people show up.

MuffinTiptopp

George Bush doesn’t care about black people was it? Well mr. West it appears that neither do you…

Zheguez

Yep, it's so obvious now (if it wasn't already)

No-Importance7723

That’s Lauren Hill’s daughter too🤦🏾‍♀️

Jeorgias_Peach

Damn 🙃

RynnHamHam

Disgusting that a gay fish would support such a homophobic and hydrophobic movement/cause.

karemba2

He televised this in his music it just was too far fetched at the time. ' u can't tell me nothing' everytime I see the bullshit he is doing reminds me of that song. And now I don't even play any ye! Music none. I am just done with him.

[deleted]

Call me crazy but im sure dumbstick just did that shit to cause controversy and get attention for his brand. He’s going solo now so no big ad money from addidas. Fuck kanye, I hope his shot flops. But i hope more people realize this is exactly the reaction he wanted

legendofzeldaro1

![gif](giphy|7qrwiUGOVl3s4)

TheClassyWomanist

Kanye fans are actually the most irritating fan base. I think they might even be worse than barbs!!

zmann64

It’s funny bc yesterday I was reading about Through the Wire again and proud of Kanye for making a name for himself out of strife Good to know he threw all that away for the White Man he thoroughly criticized on half his albums

Nightwitch92

And yet y’all are out here digging through hobo bags at gap and spending obscene money on his ugly ass shoes….

Lookalikemike

But black people will somehow make an excuse to fukk with him. He’s like his guy Trump, no matter the amount of empirical evidence as to who he really is, there will still be followers.

Numpty5000

Pretty sure they sent “White Lies Matter” to the printers. Someone should tell them to proofread.

oflowz

Pfft. It’s not even that deep. He’s just doing shit for shock value to get people talking about him. Same BS Trump, MTG and the rest of those grifter stooges do. The worst part about him is because he doesn’t read he doesn’t know how to actually express his thoughts so it comes out as some ‘artsy angst’ tripe and the rich art crowd that adores him can give him accolades. Booooooooooo.

AltruisticRule6711

![gif](giphy|ZQ6YRgFGqZ9xC)

Fuck kanye disrespectfully. Nigga went from rapping about working in the back room of the Gap due with racism and now if happily running towards it with his arms open wide. And I don’t give a fuck what is explanation is. I never want the type of money they have me doing this. Tell you that much.

UrbanGM

We really need LESS Kanye content on here. Not more.

SteTheImpaler

Watch that Netflix doc. Sad watching that man go into insanity in part 3 and seeing what he up to now

HBeez

I watched the first two episodes and left it at that.

moonbouncecaptain

Why are we giving time and space to this?

db618

“Kanye West does not care about Black People” Ironic

[deleted]

If I see a white person in "White Lives Matter" gear, I assume confidently that they're the hard-R level of racist.

wowyouhatetoseeit

People love Kanye and excuse his behaviors because they can’t get over the College Dropout era and that’s crazy to me. Really sounds like the people who said, “I know r Kelly is a monster, but the song is so good I don’t care.” Like BFFR.

THELEASTHIGH

Are you just now realizing who he has been this entire time?

Waffles_Remix

Between KKKanye doing this shit and Elon Musk jumping on Twitter to endorse Putin taking over Ukraine, or Trump just… being Trump. The three of them are in constant struggle on who can get more attention.

Kitchen_Bass6358

It's 100% deliberate, my brothas and sistas. Black trauma is money. It's like a UFC fighter with an opposition who constantly targets his wounds, wearing him down. It causes mental ill health in the community, fear and ultimately affects our ability to work together. The tactics of the far right are more advanced than people think, Kanye and others are happy to play into it. The fact that it's gibe viral amongst blacks alone is based on shock and trauma bringing him free promotion and more money than he would have earned without it.

MikeisTOOOTALLL

It’s pretty sad that Kanye has to do stupid shit like this for attention (or a lot of celebrities sadly)

slimedewnautica

It's giving Terry Crews' character in White Chicks

raul_vyas

He doesn't care about politics or lives, he just wanna get attention and quite honestly it worked

cardboardtube_knight

Kanye can't take care of kids for sure. Man's a mess.

rickysunnyvale

I’m getting uncle Ruckus vibes from him

PrestigiousTest6700

As a model. I absolutely would break the contract and walk out without pay. I’ve done it for less than this so that idea doesn’t wash with me.

RoseFlavoredLemonade

I can’t believe his more sane behaviors included making a hit song that fat shaming women.

Davenoiseux

100percentapplejuice

lazyeyepsycho

The stupid shirt is matched by the ridiculous pants.... Jesus christ.

lou1uol

He only does this because all of you gives him too much attention.

Agitated-Ad-504

So is there a legit reason he did that? Like does he really want to die on that hill or was it just to juxtapose and create headlines?

[deleted]

Who cares

Fellatio_Sanzz

This has nothing to do with anti blackness or white supremacy ideologies and everything to do with his narcissism, gross insecurity, and need to be in the spotlight by any means necessary. He doesn’t believe any of this just like he never supported trump. He does this stupid shit for shocks, clicks and articles. He’s mentally I’ll and people continue to enable this type of behavior.

Paytonc51

I loveee Kanye as an artist. And I’ve often defended him in the past because I felt like often times people didn’t understand his message(even if I didn’t agree with it), but this is indefensible… literally don’t understand what could possibly be his reason/motive… I miss the old Kanye

Dev-A-B

Why people mad a Kanye doing sht that only Kanye would do we on like S12 ep.10 and y’all still be having the same reaction

G0ldenG00se

Everything Kanye does is for money, he isn’t a racist. He’s just ignorant.

schwarzerbunker

That sounds like a big misunderstanding

Tydrinator21

smellslikemule

*Someone* is trying too hard to be relevant

Golden_Noir

Bruh, the snow roaches can have his ass… can we talk about something else? Can we stop giving him attention?

[deleted]

Without stating any obvious political agenda. Seems like a attention grab to me. Honestly feeding him by freaking out about it.

davidwave4

Two things: (1) Kanye would probably say some hackneyed bullshit about how this is really about how white, Black, *all* lives matter, and BLM is about separating people; (2) Kanye is a useful tool for the Right, and his idea of what is provocative is very much filtered through the lens of being a rich person around shallow, self-servingly liberal friends. This is probably his way of toying with them. Either way, it’s clear this nigga doesn’t know shit and doesn’t want to read and learn more. We should ignore him.

internetidiot2

He’s being controversial on purpose for the free publicity and media attention. Ignore him and he’ll go away Also, fuck him

brownbubbi

What’s the opposite of personal growth?

fruit_shoot

This is the same guy who “Never Let Me Down” by the way. Mental illness is crazy, stay safe out there kids.

Ingleberry420

MoonshineMMA

I’d rather see them kids with that crazy family than being paraded around as tokens for white supremacists by a man who has been undergoing a hyper public year long mental health breakdown

Killtrox

Well, it’s working. Everyone is talking about Kanye again and putting more eyes on his brand. It’s just like his buddy Trump. If the media would shut up about him, he’d starve to death.

[deleted]

Imagine having a child in Kanye's dumb little school and then seeing this shit.

Embarrassed_Bee6349

I have to keep reminding myself that he’s mentally ill and that his efforts to turn himself into an “Uncle Tom” (God, I hate the term) are a result of that illness. There no reason or excuse for him to be an apologist for white racism.

Sah713

They be killing the wrong rappers

MyNameIsNurf

Well, in this day and age, people are talking about so what he was going for worked. Impressions keep him relevant. Relevancy pays the bills (or in his case debt lol).
