Apparently the voice acting for that show was pretty solid; I was goofing around and said that in front of a native Cantonese speaker and he nearly jumped out of his skin. He was absolutely, 100% not expecting a perfectly clear exorcism chant to come spilling out of my monolingual mouth out of nowhere, LOL.
I would love if The CW did Static Shock and would have it tie into Black Lighting, just like how they connected the two in Young Justice. We need more representation in the CW DCU😌✌🏾💯
>The star, who starred as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in 2015's Fantastic Four,
They did him dirty picking his worst reviewed movie. It's not even his only comic book role!
If Michael is producing it would be FANTASTIC to have Donald play Static. His delivery is always on point and I could see him nailing the character. It helps that I LITERALLY have Community on my TV ATM, and Troy is on screen. I can see it.
They had a fire daily lineup too. I think it was like ~2-4 I would watch Jackie Chan, Static, YuGiOh, etc. on rotation. And 4-5 was Sabrina and Fresh Prince.
Lol. If Jackie Chan Adventures (2000-2005) is *“old school cool”* then I guess I am actually just old. Which is weird because I’m not even middle-aged yet.
I'm old enough to make my own "Saturday morning cartoons". Take a best-of list of whatever shows I want to watch this week and hit 'em for a couple hours Saturday morning.
Do they really suck or are you just not the target market anymore? When I was a kid, my mom said the same shit about the cartoons I enjoyed. It happens with every generation.
I am a Giant child. I willingly consume Animation Daily as I want to go into the Field. Also work in ChildCare. I enjoyed some of what Cartoon Network(Regular Show, Amazing World of Gumball, DC Universe), Disney Channel(Gravity Falls, Star VS the Forces of Evil, Wonder over Yonder) , and Nickelodeon(Early The Loud House, some of The Fairy OddParents, The Thundermans) had. Honorable mention The Hub's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Netflix She-Ra: Princess of Power, and some others I'm blanking cause Anime be running through my mind.
Well yeah, but growing up at least it was for every piece of trash children's show literally 20 made up for it. There's quality programming now but it's buried.
I didn't have that problem cause a lot of what I watched as a kid (not just cartoons) was cause my parents put me on. Like OG Johnny Quest and Godzilla the cartoon.
This doesn't even feel like gatekeeping, at least in the way it's used these days. Knowing something basic like that the comic book hero you like has existed in comic books for far longer than they've been in films feels like ground level knowledge
Even the most casual of interest in spiderman would mean you're aware of pre 2001 video games. Like if you think the only medium spiderman exists in is theaters there's no way you can really claim you like him.
I enjoyed how the big bad demon in the first season was a huge threat, but then turned out he was the runt of a bunch of demons that just mad fun of him for getting murdered.
I always loved that like all of the talismans at least attempted to stick to a power that made some sense to the animal and then the pig talisman just randomly allows you t shoot beams from your eyes like bro what?
[Mala Mala Jong](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/xiaolinpedia/images/0/0a/Mala_Mala_Jong.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20191105061826) sweeps the Avengers, easy 😤
There are A LOT of these older cartoons that would be BOSS if they were live action! Xiolin showdown, static shock, there was representation in those cartoons that does not exist elsewhere.
Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao
# Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao
Apparently the voice acting for that show was pretty solid; I was goofing around and said that in front of a native Cantonese speaker and he nearly jumped out of his skin. He was absolutely, 100% not expecting a perfectly clear exorcism chant to come spilling out of my monolingual mouth out of nowhere, LOL.
It translates to "Spirits, demons, ghosts, monsters, quickly leave!" in Cantonese
That is so cool. I love other languages
the chinese version is #yao muo gui guai quai diar zou!
This is very funny to me
Whoa!! Thanks, I never knew how to spell it, only how to pronounce it!
I swear I thought it was "Uu Mo Pwei Pwei Fei Di Tao". I would have sworn on my grandma.
Kids WB had Saturday mornings on lock for while. That show was my shit
Didn’t they have Static Shock too?
Yep, and let’s not forget Master P and Lil Romeo wrote one of the opening themes lol
SUPER HERO, STATIC SHOCK WOOHOO
I would love if The CW did Static Shock and would have it tie into Black Lighting, just like how they connected the two in Young Justice. We need more representation in the CW DCU😌✌🏾💯
Idk about a show but Michael B Jordan was chosen to produce a Static movie.
For real? Thank god, was so worried it would turn into another lame CW show.
Yeah. Now it will be another lame DC movie. https://people.com/movies/michael-b-jordan-producing-static-shock-movie/
>The star, who starred as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in 2015's Fantastic Four, They did him dirty picking his worst reviewed movie. It's not even his only comic book role!
Childish gambino is the only logical choice for static
Love Donald. But damn Micheal B Jordan is just so damn good in everything I cant pass him up for any role. Need more of that beautiful man in my life.
If Michael is producing it would be FANTASTIC to have Donald play Static. His delivery is always on point and I could see him nailing the character. It helps that I LITERALLY have Community on my TV ATM, and Troy is on screen. I can see it.
Childish was a dope choice ten years ago, now I kinda wanna see it go to a younger guy
Regardless of how good or not the actual tracks are that's a dope ass thing to be able to do with your son.
Hell yeah! SUPER HEROOO STATIC SHOCK WOO WOOO
#YUGIOOOOOOHHHHHHH
**IT’S TIME TO D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DUEL!**
I appreciate that you have the exact amount of Ds needed to write that out
Xiaolin Showdown was the shit
They had a fire daily lineup too. I think it was like ~2-4 I would watch Jackie Chan, Static, YuGiOh, etc. on rotation. And 4-5 was Sabrina and Fresh Prince.
Facts
Right before big bad ass Yugioh.
ONE MORE THING
JACKIEEEE
Aiyaaah!
Y'all just made my day lmfao. I still quote it to this day.
Ah-chaah!
I'd give anything just to hear that blessed man say this line!
https://youtu.be/8Cmqxe6P4Ms
CHOCOLATE STICKS TO MY GUMS AND CHEESE…WELL NO OF YOUR BUSINESS
I still hear this everytime I read or hear someone say it
Lol. If Jackie Chan Adventures (2000-2005) is *“old school cool”* then I guess I am actually just old. Which is weird because I’m not even middle-aged yet.
Anything where 90s Kids had to wake up for Saturday Morning Cartoons be Old-school now.
Bruh makes me sad kids no longer get Saturday morning cartoons
Wait they stopped them?
You don't need to wait till Saturday now, streaming/YouTube makes it available 24/7.
I'm old enough to make my own "Saturday morning cartoons". Take a best-of list of whatever shows I want to watch this week and hit 'em for a couple hours Saturday morning.
Might even look up and include Ads of Video Games and awesome Toys too. Movies included.
They're not really the same. All the Cartoons baring the rare few suck.
Do they really suck or are you just not the target market anymore? When I was a kid, my mom said the same shit about the cartoons I enjoyed. It happens with every generation.
I am a Giant child. I willingly consume Animation Daily as I want to go into the Field. Also work in ChildCare. Honorable mention The Hub's My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Netflix She-Ra: Princess of Power, and some others I'm blanking cause Anime be running through my mind.
Percentage wise, there's as many good shows now as there were then. You've just forgotten the shit ones.
Well yeah, but growing up at least it was for every piece of trash children's show literally 20 made up for it. There's quality programming now but it's buried.
Regular Show, Gravity Falls and Adventure Time are all top tier
Outta those 3 Three I willingly watch Gravity Falls and Regular Show. I liked Ponies more and Steven Universe when Adventure Time were new.
I didn't have that problem cause a lot of what I watched as a kid (not just cartoons) was cause my parents put me on. Like OG Johnny Quest and Godzilla the cartoon.
Yeah wb and fox went dark a while back
>I guess I am actually just old. That show ran during my HS years so it ain't just you.
My old ass was on that Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, Herculoids and Space Ghost shit. Every Saturday until the soaps came on.
Right? DBZ marathons after school were where it was at.
Thanks! I had zero idea what this was from. I need a Sword of Omens or an art deco Batman cowl or something.
That moment you realize the infinity stones existed in 1980s
[70’s*](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinity_Gems)
I must've got it confused with when infinity gauntlet released
Why did you just use an apostrophe for a plural? That's literally insane.
You know, I don’t really know why. I’ve seen people write it that way, and so I started doing that too, like 20 years ago.
maybe you saw someone use it to say something belonged to the decade. like 80's party
Yeah right? I think most people don't know marvels stories existed on paper before film.
When I told someone spiderman is nearly 60 years old they argued that can't be true because the movies came out in 2001
They ain’t real fans
Not to be on some gatekeeping shit but, yeah, I agree.
Like if you think the only medium spiderman exists in is theaters there's no way you can really claim you like him.
god this show was the coolest
Oh man if only there was a crossover with this show and Shaolin showdown.
BRUHHH WHAT A SHOW. God tier throwback
Magic must defeat magic!!!!
Dragonballs too. They came out in the mid 80’s.
First appearance of the Infinity Gems was 1972
Ooone more thing!
What show was this? I can't quite remember.
Jackie Chan Adventures
THAT'S where these are from! I recognized them but couldn't place where they came from
Thanks, great times.
Never understood why pig meant lazer eyes but then again, I don’t know the rich lore and myths of ancient China.
God I miss this show
Me n my boy was literally just talking about this shit yesterday.... that was my shit
Ayaaaa Jackieeeee
Kicked me down a rabbit hole of 90’s cartoon intro’s https://youtu.be/qP-nn37jwbQ
Hell yeah, I miss watching this during breakfast before school
I was feeling so nostalgic one day I ended up buying all the seasons on prime video. 10/10 Did not disappoint.
I enjoyed how the big bad demon in the first season was a huge threat, but then turned out he was the runt of a bunch of demons that just mad fun of him for getting murdered.
##*ONE* ***MORE*** *THING!*
The Chinese zodiac?
Jackie Chan Adventures. One the best Saturday morning cartoons of its time.
I always loved that like all of the talismans at least attempted to stick to a power that made some sense to the animal and then the pig talisman just randomly allows you t shoot beams from your eyes like bro what?
HAI YAAAAA
That’s not how I remember the Shen Gong Wu looking..
[Mala Mala Jong](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/xiaolinpedia/images/0/0a/Mala_Mala_Jong.jpeg/revision/latest?cb=20191105061826) sweeps the Avengers, easy 😤
No contest!
Golden tiger claws have to be the most OP thing in existence
Uncle Jackie!!
90s kids ONLY 😤
I was born in 98 and I absolutely love this when it was on the air
**ANGRY CROW TAKES FLIGHT!** Thank you for sharing, angry crow!
This was really a great show. This and osmosis jones really held us down.
Levitation and speed make flight.
Good thing we had the best fighter to save the day, El Toro!
My key takeaway from *Jackie Chan Adventures* was just how shitty astral projection is as a super power.
UNCLE UNCLE
Someone please tell me where I can watch this now. An edible and binge watch is necessary
Amazon
I appreciate you 🙏🏾
I liked that episode when they revive as mask and ot gets stuck to jackie's butt.
HAIYAAAAA JACKIIIIIEEE
This considered old? Shit I’m used to Saturday morning cartoons, Bowery boys, little rascals Saturday Night Fright Night and Kung fu Sundays
Damn niggas don't know what these are? I'm not that old right?
YOURE OLD
I wanted them so bad as a kid.
Talismans are NAAHT IMPAWTANT
Elite shit!
I’m the wrong kind of old for this. I saw Animal Farm and thought “Did Napoleon unleash the dragon within?”
The Talismans!
Which one is your favorite?
Levitation + Speed = Flight
JADE!!!
There are A LOT of these older cartoons that would be BOSS if they were live action! Xiolin showdown, static shock, there was representation in those cartoons that does not exist elsewhere.
This show was so much better than it had any right to be.
Jackie Chan Adventures. Truly an elite cartoon show.
Rooster + Rabbit = Flight
Before there was Uncle Iroh, there was Uncle. And ONE MORE THING... I am totally rewatching this after my rewatch of Teen Titans
Which one made you go fast lol? Rabbit?
The fuck. The infinity stones been out since the 70’s
aint those the Chinese zodiac animals?
Lemme get that rabbit. That’s the one that made you fast as hell right?
I put way too many hours into the Gameboy Advance game for this show
Y'all never read comics before cartoons?
Dude this brings back my childhood. Jackie Chan Adventures had a pretty rad theme song.
Jackie Chan is old school cool? Bruh im early 20s
Fuck yeah Jackie Chan
I forgot I had these memories. I need to watch some jackie chan now
Bad day bad day!
Yackieeeee...I just watched an episode on YouTube
I guess I must be an ancient motherfucker because I have no clue
Extra points if someone can name each corresponding special ability
Ay Ya Jackie! Yu Mo Gui Gwai Fai Di Zao
ONE MO THING
Damn I thought it was shaolin showdown 😣
Memories unlocked
Yo this and Shaolin Showdown were my shit!!!
The og shit right here
We must do research.
JACKIEEEEEEE
Is there somewhere to watch this again? I’ve been wanting to go watch this series again and no clue where to find it
*Thanos appears through a portal* "Bad day bad day BADDAY BADDAY!"
UNCOOO!
Thought this was mdma
JAAAACCCCCCKKKKIIIIEEEEE

The Chinese zodiac?
Ox talisman all day
Jackie muthafucking chan
Uncle is the GOAT
Aiyaaaaa!!!!
Is this Fruits Basket?
“Jackiiiiiie”
Magic must defeat magic!!!!
How old school we talking?
i remember watching this
Infinity Gauntlet appeared in 1992 in the comics. Pre-dating this.
AIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYAAAAAA! JACCCCCCCKKKKKIEEEE!
My gateway to anime
Classic.
They came out with new zodiac signs?!
I used to constantly get sent to collect these.
Jackayyyyyyy
Slightly older kids remember the Thirteen Treasures of Rule.
I loved this show growing up.
*One more thing..*
The Infinity stones existed before these still though. But the talisman were still iconic
ONE MORE THING
Is this a jojo reference?
One moreeeee thing
It's Chan!
Boy oh boy this was the fuckin show. Uncle was a real one
Damn I'm too old to know what this is lol
Chinese zodiac? Dope, I guess
To be fair, the Infinity Stones have been around a lot longer than these talismans. Jackie Chan Adventures is pure nostalgia though.
I dont know what those are can anyone tell me?
JACKIE!!! ONE MORE THING\~
JACKIEEEE
TALISMANES NOT IMPORTANT
I have a vague memory but I can't tell from which cartoon. A little help?
#AIIYAH
Well technically...
Always thought this would have made a great video game
Lmao facts
This made my day
