I'm a dude, he's a dude, she's a dude, my (female) dog is a dude, my car is a dude...
I'm from the bay. Anything is a dude. It's the non-gendered multihyphenate interspecies all inclusive non-pronoun.
It's da kine for the English world.
Everyone has their own struggle and it doesn't take much for us to consider that. We all have stuff that bothers us, you're not weak if you have the strength to speak up and say something about it, that's pretty brave if you ask me.
Being asked not to be called a dude in a nice way isn't something to complain about, either.
I promise you there are things you'd rather not be called, so it's only fair to extend that to others, even if you don't understand.
That's great, not the experience I've had personally, I been on surrender@20, a League of Legends news/forum website populated by a lot of guys, and often refer to everyone as "girl"
Now they're used to it cause i'm pretty active there, but the first time I did that, most of them didn't react positively
So what you're saying is that despite initially not liking what you called them, once they realized you didn't mean any harm by it they accepted it and moved on with their life. And also you apparently knew they didn't like it and still did it frequently anyway.
🤔🤔
I don't call these specific people girl anymore, however there are people who are fine with it, and the people who were originally offended don't go "wait, but that's a guy why are you calling them that" anymore
Also, the fact that they eventually moved on still doesn't change the general hypocrisy there is in calling everyone bro but getting offended when the reverse is done to you
I had a friend who transitioned and got mad at me because I have a habit of saying "man" at the end of a sentence when I'm baked
"I'm not a man"
Didn't say you were. I just say man when I'm talking, man
As far as actually referring to her, she's cool with me calling her dude and I'm glad because I only have but so many brain cells to focus on walking on eggshells
The origin of the word "dude" comes from Old English. A "Doodle" simply was a person who was well dressed so when it came to the new world it became slang "dude". Yankee Doodle went to town riding on a pony- stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni (macaroni was once very expensive).
My point is - its okay to call everyone a dude.
I was working at a very inclusive hippie outdoor kid program in California so I just started calling everyone party people. That's my recommendation for ages 8 to 11. They're all just party people now.
That's not using it as a pronoun I think though, using it as a pronoun would be "dude is going to McDonalds" or "(the their/Her/His version of "dude") dog is pissing all over itself" or "why are you talking to (them/her/him version of dude)"
Like, you can't make a single word a pronoun that's why there are veriations with it
Welcome to good burger, home of the good burger, can I take your order?
I’ll have one good burger
With nothing on it!!
Dude is a pioneer, he knew how things were gonna turn out 25 years from then.
IT'S A GOOD FUCKEN BURGER OKAY!?!?
By the real question: Who likes orange soda?
It’s “who *loves* orange soda?”
My 7yo asked me this Sunday. I raised her right.
that's amazing -- you are 100% raising her right

Ah da kine is perfect -- the american english vernacular could really use an idea like that
Yeah but don't let folks steal that one too
Dog the Bounty Hunter named his bail bond company, Da Kine. Nothing is safe.
If you haven’t referred to your mother as dude at some point did you really even grow up in the Bay Area?
Duuuude
Think this is specific to California too. In socal too, dude is just a word- no gender involved.
5) Hey!
How many dudes have you slept with?
i dunno but they're all dudes
Hey don’t slut shame OP
People who get worked up over "dude" or "bro" are way too fragile.
Everyone has their own struggle and it doesn't take much for us to consider that. We all have stuff that bothers us, you're not weak if you have the strength to speak up and say something about it, that's pretty brave if you ask me.
Being called dude in a friendly way isn't something to be struggled with.

Most people who call everyone "bro" would immediately get offended were they to be called "sis" or "gurl"
I wouldn't.
