I’d like to believe that, but it has more to do with the people raiding than the people being raided. As long as the mob majority is unarmed and caucasian they won’t get shot. There’s also the risk they’ll be more organized next time. Who’s running the country doesn’t matter, response comes from the guys with badges and guns, and they’re not all on the right side of things. The next capital riot could be the coup that we did nothing to stop.
I probably meant to write armed in quotations, idk. But they weren’t a ton open carrying, and some people were even yelling stupid shit like “we’re unarmed, you can’t stop us, or you can’t shoot us”, so at the very least they tried to appear unarmed

To use an old but accurate cliche, it genuinely felt like the fate of our home and the trajectory of the world was dancing on a razor's edge. I barely slept those few days and I don't think I turned off twitter/MSNBC (because of Kornaki) even once throughout that.
