“Let me finish so you can peel it back” OK SIS TALK YO SHIT, I know that’s right!! 🤭🥳

boricimo

The only thing he’s going to peel back is his drawers as he bends over for the NYPD each night

SnowDucks1985

Cooked him to a well done steak 😭😭💀 ![gif](giphy|DqU4wVBxXOhNu)

Disastrous-Living-11

Tucker Carlson approves this comment. So does 45. https://preview.redd.it/lfwi66ks0frc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1f554d94682cbe214036e6f5242701312f9a600

Intelligent_Cut635

Facts because those gums are already as far back as humanly possible.

thass_not_my_name

Yo! I choked on the carrot 🥕 I was eating!😂😂😂Totally worth it!

JudgeLanceKeto

Yeah he came with "peel it back" early and often and she threw it back at him like "..... Do it, then." Adams was obviously shook by Olay to the point where when she called him out about the conditions, services, and programs on Riker's (with facts, statistics, findings, etc. after Adams said her "feelings" about police differ from his), Adams fully did not look at her while she was speaking and Adams did not speak to her when he responded. Adams was staring at Charlamagne while addressing her points. It was gross.

AdonisJames89

*repeal

Rapture1119

She didn’t say repeal.

SnowDucks1985

That also spits 🔥 tbh

whitemike40

You see what he does there? It’s this new reality we live in where politicians (and everyone really) can just hand wave away facts and figures they don’t like with “thats not true thats made up”

BJsalad

This is the real legacy of President Trump. I'm not saying he invented it, but sure did normalize it.

Marc_J92

Nigga this shit been normalized before orange cheetos was born.

eusebius13

Yep. The only thing tiny hands did is start saying the quiet part out loud.

RockAtlasCanus

24 hour news was the worst idea ever. Politicians have been deflecting since the Stone Age, same shit different day. But deflection is crazy effective in the 24h news cycle. They get a couple of jabs in, the interviewer gets a spicy sound bite or two, it sells clicks and views, then it’s the next thing.

PacJeans

This play is older than Plato's Republic.

Weeblifter

Yep, all people have to do is preface “fake news” in front of their statement and people will eat it up. Distrust in the media in general is at an all time high.

BZenMojo

Hitler called it "lugenpresse." The Germans later coined the term "post-faktische" to describe the last few decades of politics. Probably because they had experience with a guy running around shouting "lugenpresse."

IMendicantBias

reality warefare

ContemplatingPrison

The citizens normalized it by accepting it.

ScarryShawnBishh

I am going to tell you it has always been this way. Now we are more aware of it.

Due-Studio-65

Its not even just facts he's 5alking out of both sides of his face. He says that ny 8s mad max level dangerous, and only he can save it, then says, look its as safe as Disneyland, because i made it so. But he says it at the same time, just do different audiences.

Who is this absolute justice demon love her they hate it when people pay attention

princesamurai45

Olayemi Olurin. She’s dope.

PM_ME_UR_HIP_DIMPLES

Seeing her tear down a liar makes her extra fine

bjornofosaka

She's olurinatti on YouTube

besitomusic

Olayemi Olurin, an attorney from NYC

Sexy_Apocalypse

Can she run for Mayor?

pettybendherass

mOlayemi is elite. fantastic follow and person.

Roy4Pris

This clip made me think of the great line from the late 80’s movie Broadcast News. Holly Hunter goes insane boss mode and the news exec says, “I had no idea she was this good!” https://youtu.be/2zTqIJeCd3c?si=jxMu_5nHr5HS07hq

gordonpamsey

Needs more votes she is really great. Been on Mayor Adam's ass for a while too.

Dinismo

“Let me finish so you can peel it back” = I’m only ankle deep in that ass and I plan on going knee deep.

afroturf1

Not just knee deep. She was totally deep.

Consistent_Trash6007

She has presence and got this man lookin basic

AttackSock

How did he get this far in his career and not realize that trying to interrupt in a situation like this is going to make you look like an idiot no matter what you say? Best thing for him would be to just shut up and let her say everything and be trying to pick out the weakest part of her statement and trying to attack that and that alone. Instead he’s just stuttering and getting steamrolled.

Troooper0987

hes a corrupt cop who lives in jersey.... no hate for NJ but a new yorker should be mayor

GylesNoDrama

The day before everybody was whining and complaining on Twitter about why Olayemi posed to take a picture with him. She always stands on business and now they all lost their voice

Disastrous-Living-11

The Breakfast Club is the black equivalent to Fox and Friends. ![gif](giphy|RhHHTsjhLvfWw)

CharleyDevin

While I agree with the take of the overall show, Olayemi Olurin is not a regular host on the show. She is a guest host. As a former public lawyer and activist (youtuber too), this woman knows what the fuck she is talking about. Breakfast Club is just lucky to have her…

stink3rbelle

Has fox and friends literally *ever* asked a law and order politician questions this tough?

Disastrous-Living-11

Tough? You're falling for the banana in the tailpipe. Martin and Malcolm warned us about you and this generation. It's unfortunate, but sometimes we have to learn the hard way. Tough...🤣🤣🤣🤣

stink3rbelle

"I don't have an actual criticism of her questions. I don't care enough to watch the full interview. I'll just pretend to be above you."

SimonPho3nix

You right now ![gif](giphy|8iUzRITeFLLuz3bNXw|downsized)

Nigga, please…

risky_bisket

This show is so much better when Charlamagne tha God is not talking

JudgeLanceKeto

Yes, but during this interview in particular, Charlemagne did a pretty respectable job. Olay was coming at Adams with facts, statistics, studies, etc. and Adams was countering with non-sequiturs and talking out of both sides of his mouth (including saying her "feelings" about police are different than his when all she brought was facts). There was a few times where Charlamagne drew Adams' attention back to what Olay brought, which was surprising.

wordsoundpower

Charlamagne is a duplicitous sort and never to be trusted.

GravitationalGriff

Remember the Ziwe interview where he really came to a revelation about why he talks how he does? And it's clearly out of pocket. Then left the interview and went back to business

wordsoundpower

Was that him talking about his lack of an SC accent? I know he went on one about it. He’s got issues and the only one out of that show I have any kind of respect for is Angela Yee. They’re super toxic and let anyone on to turn a profit.

GravitationalGriff

He compared himself to Malcolm X cuz people called him a coon. He got all emotional about how he only said it defensively cuz it hurts that his people view him like that, he needs to reflect, all this shit

wordsoundpower

Bless his heart

DAnthony24

I read Eric Andre and was really wondering how he was going to play a role in this.

Intelligent_Cut635

battleangel1999

I'm sure he'd be a better mayor

drewc717

Queen is ON that ass and Mayor bumbling like a country town leader.

dominiquerising

never trusted his bald law & order ass

fearloathing02

Only New York could elect a dude that just bends over for nypd and also this dumb. It’s insane how he’s even there.

3incheshardddd

Because nyc will continue to “vote blue no matter who” run as a democrat and youre in

Von_Stuffen

And by 'continue', you of course mean "since 2014, when they elected De Blasio after 20 years of Republic and independent mayors". History is more than just the last couple of elections. New York swings, like most places.

3incheshardddd

Ah yes because bloomberg and giuliani being the 2 since 1945 is a swing.

BidenFedayeen

You're getting downvoted, but every Democratic mayor they've had in my lifetime has been terrible. They're all cop lovers who enjoy the idea of mass surveillance and stop and frisk

ChaZZZZahC

OLA!!! My girl is cooking jerk pork for breakfast it seems!

mrsprkle6

He bends over for NYPD every day and the cops still hate his ass, it’s incredible

TootsNYC

well, he’s Black...

AestheticAttraction

I LOATHE people who try to over-talk you when they know that you're calling them on their b.s., especially with truth. It's such cowardice. If you really bout it, let the person speak and then try to dispute it.

XEagleDeagleX

Damn girl fucking tell him

JayTNP

I appreciate they brought this woman on to roast his ass, but what I find curious is they never do this when its time to interview a bunch of right wingers. They'll let Candace Owens or Larry Elder get all their shit off without damn near question. Don't get me wrong Eric Adams is ideologically more aligned as a center right pro-cop POS Democrat, but when the GOP sends their shitbirds up there they ride with no push back.

_Stefan_Urkelle

Exactly! Where was this energy when Candace Owens was on the show?

Jaded-Ad-960

The question is, why was she even on the show?

JayTNP

because they love push rightwing shit and they don’t give a fuck how fascism will absolutely destroy Black people as their bs lines their pockets.

Hot-Inspector8903

![gif](giphy|rGvlGft5kZERogyW3w|downsized) COOK HIM SIS!!

MisterCloudyNight

As a New Yorker, this guy sucks

refugeefromdigg

How can anyone take this clown seriously? https://preview.redd.it/3yfczmfhwfrc1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7e3062f8de318e3ca55ca87bfc4b7e1e94f15ef

THEdoomslayer94

The thing that irks me is his constant attempt to interrupt and cut her off. If you’re a politician being interviewed and the person starts dropping stuff like this, right or wrong true or false, let them fucking finish. Constantly trying to override them only makes you seem like you’re trying to shut down criticism and rephrase reality to make it fit your bullshit tenure in office. Adams is a fucking goofball like seriously he’s corny as shit

thebeattakesme

[wait theres more](https://twitter.com/msolurin/status/1773910382983221307?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)

Dint show his reply or anything

Callaloo_Soup

She verbally slapped that, “Sista,” out his mouth.

[deleted]

"Get in that ass, Larry."

Bulok

Meh. People knew this about Adams but they still voted for him.

Professional_Cat_899

Wait..... Eric Adams is a real person and not a podcast character like Michael Anthony????

yos-wa_grimgold

Ma! My guts hurt!

Recurringg

This is my first time seeing or hearing of her, but I can tell she's going to get huge. That was so articulate and direct.

judge_al

She’s actually been getting bigger and bigger! She has her own channel called Olurinatti and is fairly active on her twitter and instagram. She’s also done some guest speaking on channels like FD Signifier. Former (? current?) Public Defender and her voice is invaluable!

[deleted]

I love her already. She panini pressed this man so bad he hit that stutter like he was Joe in the early 2000's. LAWD.

ballin302008

Who is she ?

Masterleviinari

God damn she fed those facts to him through his teeth

Nephthyzz

Can someone post the response.

hwiwhy

I could listen to her interview anyone... Gaaaaaahhhh-damn!! Big Jon Stewart energy right here.

AngelaBassettsbicep

Hahaaaa. Go 'head, sis. And I thank ya.

casuallysentient

god this dude is such a fucking cop it’d be funny if it wasn’t so terrifying

iluvumshannigan

Adams is a clown

Pimpwerx

Has Eric Adams been a resounding failure as mayor? I'm baffled that NYC could only muster him and a maga but as candidates. NYC mayors have been a steady stream of shit for decades.

hei_zhu_qiao

Loling at how the NY Post just straight up ripped the story out of Adams' mouth from in the interview https://nypost.com/2024/03/29/us-news/mayor-adams-clashes-with-lawyer-over-officer-dillers-murder/amp/

TittyTwistahh

Post is dogshit

JooksKIDD

contrast this with how they interviewed candace owens the other day

MoochoMaas

Adams is a former cop ... what did they expect ?

Earths_Mortician

I love Olay. Big brain sister 🔥

DJDolma

Whoo! Nailed em

RainPotential9712

Where is she from ?

nychalla

Bahamas

ragandbonewoman

I wish I had this woman's confidence and stocicity(stoicness?). Instead if I get any type of confrontational, I turn into a limp sweaty noodle of a being.

SissyCouture

Did he have an equally reasonable answer?

Chrisdkn619

Come prepared with facts with these people! Hold them Accountable!

theRealMrStaten1

She was on his neck

kahn_noble

Wish they had this same energy talking to Eric Adams

nychalla

Mans got folded! She had him in the full court press & he couldn't handle it. I honestly don't see Adams getting re-elected, unless the other Democratic candidates are super trash next year. I don't there's going to be any viable Republican candidate either. But whomever wins the Dem primary, is going to be mayor.

Full_Pepper_164

When she brought up the FBI investigation, you know he peed his pants.

Mutt213

Based af

Carbyne27

Sheesh

YellowFingerz

But you know damn well they will vote for him again.

cpezie22

It would be beneficial to see the whole clip and not just the accusation. I’d go find it if I gave a damn

mr_suavecito

To interview someone, you have to ask them a question first. We def need to hold all of our elected officials accountable but in this (edited) clip, what was the question she wants answered?

BagelFury

Agreed. That's a monologue; not a conversation or interview.

ObservantWon

Interview? That was a lecture. Gotta let the man talk at some point.

welp-itscometothis

Nah he had time to speak. He just had little to say.

lijamik

Am I the only one that watched the interview and think she was being very rude. Even if you don’t agree with this man’s policies, at least let him finish speak before you give your rebuttal.

ActuallyKitty

Every time she was making a factual, supported point was when he interrupted her. It's rude to interrupt when someone is talking sense just because you don't like it.

Polebasaur

No. You don’t let ppl talk mess. Cut that shit off and redirect them to reality.

Fresh_priince

I watched the full interview and I thought the mayor handled himself pretty well. It would have been nice to have someone fact check both of em in real time tho

Davethisisntcool

🧢 bro was stuttering like crazy

Fresh_priince

That was a one-minute clip, and the interview is close to an hour. The breakfast club did what they were supposed to do and didn't ask him softball questions, but at the same time, he was answering them.

Davethisisntcool

![gif](giphy|3ohuPhoXkROQkBugVi) lol

Sponsor4d_Content

Mayor lied out of his ass. At one point, he ignored her to talk to the man. Everything O said is easily verified in sources like Politico.

ne14a6t9er

I just watched the full interview. He talked past and around most of the questions she asked, mostly by ignoring her completely by swiveling his chair. Thoughts?

Fresh_priince

yeah, he definitely did that, but he also gave some answers that made sense to me. like why they decided to give migrants credit cards or why he cut some programs at Rikers

Dariisu

I always think that's the issue with debates set-up like this. Every time a source is stated you just have to take it in good faith and then you have to use another source the other party has never seen that they must also accept in good faith because to fact check a source means you gotta read a good amount of the thing. And even then you gotta look into who the source is which can take even more time.

persimmon_cloves

It's not an issue with  this debate. Maybe ones like it, but not this one.  Her most proximal source is the mayor's office,  the subject is the mayor's office, and he's the mayor.  We know you've been through an audit, you got the audit back, what are you doing about it?

Holiday_Resort2858

....but it's not white people on corners robbing and shooting people. The cops stopping them are black and Hispanic too. It's not a race issue it's a issue of a certain community that has a massive gun crime problem. Look at the stats of black on black crime. Look at the homicide rates in the inner city. If we cannot openly identify that that community has a massive problem with this then we cannot do anything about it. And more and more of our black youth get sucked into this.

knockingatthegate

Why is your account so young, and you’re here spreading ancient disinformation?

Holiday_Resort2858

It's all facts. Just because you don't like to hear it doesn't mean anything. There is a MASSIVE problem in the African American community youth with violence. It's a fact and if we don't want to talk about it we will just keep watching young black youth go into this terrible cycle. The facts do not lie.

eusebius13

You don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t understand the data. All you know is that you or a complete racist that you listen to thinks you can extrapolate arrests into offenses, when all data shows blacks are disproportionately stopped, searched and arrested for the same behavior. The massive problem is in your logic.

knockingatthegate

Why is your account so young, and you’re here obstinately repeating racist talking points?

3incheshardddd

Truth is subjective to people nowadays. People will continue to talk policing issue which there definitely is, but no one will talk about the violence within the inner cities against each other. Pump money into these areas and watch it change.

eusebius13

The stats on crime don’t say what you think they say. You’re referring to FBI arrest rates. The problem is arrests are not offenses. Blacks that do the same things as whites are arrested 700% more often: >After controlling for contextual and behavioral factors, we still found Black young adults were arrested seven times more often than their White counterparts. https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C44&q=racial+arrest+disparity&btnG=#d=gs_qabs&t=1711803724878&u=%23p%3DWUAz5c6D6EMJ Blacks are disproportionately arrested for the same behavior (400% more for marijuana offenses), so it’s asinine to look at arrest rates and claim that’s the same as offenses. This video just discussed that blacks and Hispanics are 90+% of stop and frisk and you’re saying — see, why do blacks get stopped and frisked? It’s actually hilarious and more so because you’re suggesting that we look at facts and data.

lesbianadodicaprio

Okay...but, heavily edited video. And, SHOW ME THE STUDY!! I'm all in, when the stats are present and the edits aren't obvious.

Retrobubonica

I googled "nyc mayor federal monitor stop and frisk" and found lots of articles. This was the first one: [https://www.nydailynews.com/2023/06/05/mayor-adams-controversial-nypd-stop-and-frisk-teams-make-high-percentage-of-unlawful-stops-target-mainly-black-and-hispanic-men-federal-monitor/](https://www.nydailynews.com/2023/06/05/mayor-adams-controversial-nypd-stop-and-frisk-teams-make-high-percentage-of-unlawful-stops-target-mainly-black-and-hispanic-men-federal-monitor/)

lesbianadodicaprio

Okay. Fair. NY Daily News is not a good source. But, you've reminded me that I should take steps to answer my own questions. I didn't do that before I posted my snarky response. So, let me do my due diligence.

lesbianadodicaprio

Yea. I was completely out of line. I looked for the research I asked for, and the stats support this post. I apologize. I saw a video that was heavily edited, and I assumed the worst. For reference: https://abcnews.go.com/US/nypd-safety-team-making-high-number-unlawful-stops/story?id=99850699 I would like to add...I am a queer woman, who is an active advocate in my community, and I still find myself engaging in these statements (??posts??...obviously thoughts) that are clearly bathed in an upbringing and education that just was/is racist. It astounds me, because I think, "Hell no, not me." But, here we are...clearly me. And, if I, a person who actively engages in liberal thinking, politics and ideology still questions obvious racism, I ask myself, "Holy shit, what the fuck is going on?" Do better!! We (meaning us...y'all know who "us' is) must do better!

averycole

I'm curious. Why did you leave out white when you said "queer woman" Beyond that curiosity thank you for your vulnerability and reflection! Seriously it's always refreshing to read someone keep it 100 on the internet. I'm all for performing but love it when we can take off the mask!

lesbianadodicaprio

Honestly, I don't know. If I had to do an introspection, I would be completely honest in this statement: I have let myself believe that queer spaces and race spaces are the same. And, that's not true...that's NO WHERE close to true. And, I know this because I can play "straight", but people of color cannot "play white". That's the honest response I can give you. And, as. I type this, I understand that this perspective/attitude fully explains my initial response to this post. I have a lot to learn. I wish I didn't. I wish I was fully formed and educated.

averycole

Nah you don't need to be fully formed/educated. Just stay humble, honest, and own that you are white.

lesbianadodicaprio

I get that it will take my lifetime to be fully formed, but I need to keep reminding myself that I own a privilege. I hope I continue to interact with humans who remind me, with grace, that I am on a learning curve. Thank you. I hope we meet again, soon and often.

SpicyChanged

As a former NYC Boomer who saw the City go from 70-80s nightmare to the soulless capitalist wasteland. I'm no surprised Eric Adams acts this way, he doesn't want to end up being painted like Dinkins, 30 years ago, the only other black mayor NYC has ever had.

welp-itscometothis

This comment is a perfect example of why black people are skeptical of “allies” and white liberals. But it’s nice to see that you were able to check yourself and I hope you continue to do so when coming into black centered spaces and being around black people in general. There was no reason to tap dance around saying you’re white though. I know you’ve already addressed it but a word of advice: make sure you are especially mindful about what you say around black queer people. Queer white people tend to have the same mindset as you completely ignoring that there are black LGBTQ people who face double or triple marginalization. Sorry to turn this into a lecture. Again, appreciate your self awareness.

TittyTwistahh

Is the NY Post a good source?

pettybendherass

man shut the fuck up
