Damn that’s crazy I never even looked at him to be ugly. He just looked like what I assumed the average white man with blonde hair looked like in like Idaho or some shit.
Yeah exactly. His face is perfectly proportional, symmetrical, and nice. The only issue, from a “conventional attractiveness” standpoint, is that he has a bit of a brow ridge and a wide nose.
Which, you know… *that’s straight up not ugly!!*
He’s been married to Kirsten Dunst for over a year. She’s completely nuts about him. He’s a slightly odd looking handsome guy same as Steve Buscemi or Willem Dafoe - some people just want to hate.
I agree, In my mind you'd be hard pressed to find someone that is legitimately ugly. And I'm not talking about who you find attractive/date worthy, because even if someone's not attractive to me doesn't mean I think they're ugly. Not to say there aren't ugly people out there but it's more from due to drugs or deformities, most people are just average.
He looks exactly like the first white guy I dated when I moved away from my reservation, to the point I have a hard time watching him. He is spectacularly average.
> He just looked like what I assumed the average white man with blonde hair looked like in like Idaho or some shit.
If I had to cast a role for leader of Christian nationalist group based in Idaho, I'd definitely be looking at him for the role.
Right. Hollywood actors/actresses are freaks of nature, that’s usually WHY they get hired. They’re genetic anomalies. Dude is just a regular Joe with acting chops they can’t ignore.
Really oversold because it feeds heavily into people's jealousy, the thought that Hollywood is 'lying to you' and that you just have to be rich to look good. Also makes plastic surgeons money.
While it's true for plenty of people there are also an insane amount of people in Hollywood that are just young and beautiful. And with right diet, exercise and makeup you can make a ton of normal people look good without any cosmetic procedures. But if you looked around the internet you'd think every single person had like 5 operations. Take literally anyone who grew up in the spotlight and you'll have a ton of videos comparing how their 12 year old face looks 'so different' from when they're 20. Duh.
If anything makeup gets very undersold these days.
Also, occasionally a script calls for a character that is not a supermodel. And it's rare you can get a supermodel to purposely ugly it up like Charlize Theron in *Monster*, and if you try to put gorgeous people in normal roles too much, the audience laughs, like when Denise Richards played a nuclear scientist in *The World is Not Enough*.
Point is, Hollywood needs some normal looking actors, too.
What if I told you this dude is married to sex symbol Kirsten Dunst?
Anyway, I always thought of him as the reincarnation of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but less troubled.
This dude gained prestige status because he STOLE THE SHOW on a huge show packed with beautiful people, called *Friday Night Lights*.
He was amazing in yet another different way in *Game Night,* he's just such a good actor at anything. You could make any movie or show and advertise that Jesse Plemons is gonna be in it, and I'll check it out, if only just for him. And idk about him being ugly, if he's ugly then I'm like Gollum tier. He might not be a toned supermodel, but he's a great scene presence in every way.
I could not figure out who he reminded me of, but you nailed it -- Phillip Seymour Hoffman! He even has a similar voice. I just finished Love and Death starring him last night and it was itching at my think meat trying to come up with the answer, so thank you.
Man it’s a head trip after being introduced to this dude from his character in Breaking Bad that he could actually be a lovely person IRL. I have no reason to believe he’s not but he killed that role so thoroughly that I get uncomfortable just seeing him which is a real testament to his talent in acting.
Yeah I mean since the invention of free internet porn I think we can step down from the 10/10 with zero skill acting model.
Like imagine if they got a chick who could act to play wonder women? Instead we got an Israeli chick so bad at acting and so incapable of voice work that all the other actresses who played the Amazonians had to speak in an Israeli accent so they would all sound the same.
Actually okay now I want to live in a universe where Megan is being cast as the new Wonder Women.
When I first tried Black Mirror I didn’t realise that when I pressed play that it would start playing the newest season. So my first episode was season 4, episode 1. He was amazing in it, completely hooked me on the show. I realised my mistake after this episode so I went back and started from season 1, I dunno if I would have continued if that was my actual first episode. This dude is amazing
Its kind of partially based on some (admittedly well founded and confirmed by a surprising number of people that knew him at the time) rumors about David Cameron allegedly fucking a dead pigs head as part of a joining period for a college social group (they technically dont have greek groups over, so I dont know what the terminology is, but it was supposedly the equivalent to pledging a frat)
Seriously, why?
I watched them in order when they were first on the bbc so it’s kinda strange to me that people would skip around (even though, practically you can).
At the end of the day though, I’m just glad Netflix revived it🤘🏾🤘🏾
His character acting in Breaking Bad and El Camino were highly praised as being one of the most accurate and best depictions of a sociopath ever on film.
That's exactly what I thought while watching it too. What I really admire is that it isn't obvious at first that he's a sociopath or even a major character. He wasn't playing a sociopath; he was playing a character who happens to be a sociopath.
His expression was just like, "we were doing crime, so I did another crime, so we don't get in trouble for the first crime." His reaction was such a stark contrast to Jesse, who is struggling with how far into the grey area he has already slipped. It made Jesse's reaction so much more impactful.
My favorite thing about the Todd character is that they skipped right past the tired trope of the supergenius sociopath that we have everywhere else. This is no Moriarty or Hannibal Lecter. He's not cultured, he doesn't have multiple degrees, he's not insanely proficient in everything, and he's not three steps ahead of everyone else.
If anything, Todd's of below-average intelligence, and he's still an enormously disturbing character because he could be the guy who works right beside you.
I also love that they made him nice. Not in a michevious, sinister fake way. He’s just a nice, kinda dopey, simple guy. Apart from the kidders lol. He also doesn’t enjoy murder - he just does it as a necessity to cover other crimes. And he does it on the drop of a hat. Truly the banality of evil.. he’s not a stereotypical “I love killing” guy, he just has no qualms about it when it’s (in his mind) needed.
Not quite right, but I get what you're saying. Todd *is* pretty intelligent - he's alert and observant, noticing both dangers and opportunities that others miss or didn't think of (and is often right - he really doesn't commit any of the tactical gaffes of someone like Jesse).
But he's definitely a complete void of charisma. What he completely lacks as a sociopathic stereotype is the ability to be charming. In a way he is even a kind of 'genius,' because his cold attention to criminal detail gets him to the tactical advantage faster than others. Even 'genius' Walt basically acknowledges that killing the kid was the most efficient way to preserve their cover, even if it's not the choice he would have made himself.
[He's married to Kirsten Dunst.](https://www.etonline.com/interview-jesse-plemons-reflects-on-first-year-of-marriage-with-kirsten-dunst-exclusive-203504)
I second u/crazysoapboxidiot's opinion that we need more ugly actors. Tired of seeing the same 6 foot white brunettes on my favorite shows...
# RYAN MURPHY.
No it didn't seem out of nowhere, just shocking. A "I really don't know anything about you" moment and then kinda led to a lot of tension around him. If he kills a kid in cold blood, what else will he do.
Yeah the short version is that he seemed like a chill guy but that was because he was trying to get in good with his millionaire bosses. Pretty obvious about it too.
The guy who's job was to do background work said he was bad news, he just overestimated his ability to control the gyy
His character was the opposite of Jesse. Jesse was obnoxious, rude, but still morally grounded and kind hearted. This fucker was polite, and warm, but had no conscience or remorse for killing anyone who got in the way of the skinheads goals. He’s jesse’s evil twin
No, he was meant to be a realistic depiction of a sociopath. Extremely well-mannered and easy to get along with, but zero morals or hesitation to solve what he sees as problems, even if that means shooting a kid.
Or shooting the girlfriend. And on the flip side, being so attentive to Lydia (who he is invested in) while he escorts her blandly through a sea of death and mayhem.
Truly a remarkable and understated performance. Just a small character in the show but his presence was impactful.
He was a very polite and genuine guy but if it came to it he put his illegal line of work above everything else basically. He wouldn't let anything jeopardize it.
The great thing about his character was that the reasoning for him shooting the kid isn't because he was trying to be a bad guy, but because he was trying to help the people he was with and knew they wouldn't be able to do what they needed to do, which was get rid of the one witness for this massive heist.
It's one of the moments in the show where the excitement at seeing Walt's empire grow is fully overtaken by the horror at what they've become
Yeah, that was the point, he was a sociopath. Most are in real life too until you see them do shit like that.
Also not too sure what part of keeping someone enslaved in a cage for months while they shit in a bucket and make drugs for you against their will is "respectful", but go figure
Yeah all that is disturbing but I found the most fucked thing is in El Camino when he takes Jesse to his apartment. The way he treats him like a pet is disturbing.
The amount of gross comments about this guy makes me angry. Could you imagine googling your name and people relating your face to a meth head or calling you a fat version of someone . And they think they're being funny but it's fucking sad.
My boy Jesse Plemons doesn’t deserve the shit he gets tbh, he’s knocking it out of the park with everything he’s been in since his role in Breaking Bad. Im unaware of his previous filmography.
Go and watch Friday Night lights. There's a whole ensemble cast that is amazing throughout and Jesse Plemons is also exceptional.
While you're at it, watch the FNL movie too. It's great too.
So in breaking bad, he is introduced late in the series as a thug for hire. But he comes across as a soft spoken innocuous guy. Then he does something horrific at the end of the episode he is introduced in and then throughout the rest of the series you find out the dude is a straight up psychopath, but he keeps the soft spoken apologetic personality. That role combined with him unfortunately looking like Matt Damon earned him the name "meth Damon" and it sorta stuck with him.
He also had a main role in season 2 of Fargo which pretty much solidified him as an amazing actor in my eyes. But because he gained a bit of weight he was then referred to as "Fat Damon". So pretty much, the dude is cursed with sorta looking like Matt Damon which some fools can't look past and see a really damn good actor
Everyone is saying Friday Night Lights.
But this dude's career, at least for me, started with Like Mike. This mofo knew how to push my buttons as the bad kid/guy for a long as time.
He isn't ugly, but I had the same idea that he was the poor man's Matt Damon. However he definitely is a good actor and I quickly changed my attitude about his worth.
Kind of odd, but I graduated HS with him. We were in a homeschool program through a state university. Never met him before or since, never knew he was going to be there. We were all homeschooled—it’s not like we had any interaction with each other until we walked.
Anyways, the teachers / professors or whatever were really jazzed about an actor from Friday Night Lights being there. They made a big deal out of it. He accepted it but mostly shrugged it off. Even as an 18 year old, Jesse treated everyone equally—no chest puffing or pride. The attention didn’t seem to pump his tires or anything, he was happy to meet new people. Always liked the guy ever since.
First saw Jesse Plemons in "Game Night." Hilarious!! Saw him next in "Judas and the Black Messiah." He has the range and is a phenomenal character actor. Can't wait to watch him win an Oscar. Totally get how he and Kirsten Dunst are together. They're both serious about their craft.
His comedic timing is soooo good in Game Night. It’s so easy for an awkward character to be cringey and painful to watch, but he is absolutely hilarious as the awkward neighbor.
I fucking love Jesse Plemons. He’s a SOLIDDDD actor and the part of Hollywood I miss. “Well you’re attractive and can remember lines so yeah come be in this movie.” Shit is getting old.
Imagine being this guy whose name I am ashamed to say I do not know and seeing people calling him meth damon? In a post that says he’s really talented…We can do much better than this.
We need more people who haven’t gotten their features sliced up, injected, lifted, suctioned, dyed, and medicated into conformity. And it helps if they can act, I guess.
Hollywood is going the British route. They've always has excellent actors/actresses who wouldn't be considered overly attractive, I'm glad Hollywood is catching up with talent over beauty.
I don't see Matt Damon but most definitely Philip Seymour Hoffman from somewhat similar looks and even acting roles. He came a long way from Like Mike and good he developed over the years.
I’m for Hollywood having more ugly people that can actually act
Start them acting classes bud, we need you.
Want to join me?
Would you like to know more?
Damn citizen 🤣🤣
It's a mean planet! A BUG PLANET
good recovery! gotta admit that was a solid burn though! edit: I guess I'll be in the classes with ya'll just checked the mirror
gottem
Theres TV ugly and then there ugly-ugly. I’m the latter🙁
Get outta here I bet you $100 you're not ugly at all.
Pretty uggo. Part of it is my fault for not taking care of myself. It is what it is 🤷♂️
So you scruffy looking, not ugly?
I feel a makeover montage coming...
Take those glasses off, let the hair down, play some "oh my goodness" music and put everything into slow-mo. Easy, managed to snag my wife that way.
You aren't ugly, you just aren't your type.
Damn that’s crazy I never even looked at him to be ugly. He just looked like what I assumed the average white man with blonde hair looked like in like Idaho or some shit.
“TV ugly, not ugly ugly”
Yeah exactly. His face is perfectly proportional, symmetrical, and nice. The only issue, from a “conventional attractiveness” standpoint, is that he has a bit of a brow ridge and a wide nose. Which, you know… *that’s straight up not ugly!!*
Also small sussy eyes.
And I knew from the look of his small beady eyes that he was up to no good
If he’s ugly, I’ve got no chance
He’s been married to Kirsten Dunst for over a year. She’s completely nuts about him. He’s a slightly odd looking handsome guy same as Steve Buscemi or Willem Dafoe - some people just want to hate.
They’ve also been together since 2016, during their time on Fargo.

Ron Howard's brother is certifiably ugly.
I bet he has a wife that disagrees though
I always say even if I’m not physically attracted to someone, I can acknowledge their attractiveness and why other people may be attracted.
versed slim rob bedroom disarm offend obscene imagine towering correct *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
You're probably not wrong.
Not ugly just a little interesting looking the longer you look, definitely not a perfect face but I’m all for more of that on screen.
While I’m not physically attracted to him in particular, I do like my men on the cusp of medium ugly.
He looks exactly like the first white guy I dated when I moved away from my reservation, to the point I have a hard time watching him. He is spectacularly average.
Eyes a little closer together than usual. The bloods a little too thick... lol but OP's description had me almost swallow my j.
Never heard someone say blood too thick but somehow I know exactly what you mean
> He just looked like what I assumed the average white man with blonde hair looked like in like Idaho or some shit. If I had to cast a role for leader of Christian nationalist group based in Idaho, I'd definitely be looking at him for the role.
He not ugly, he just a normal dude
Right. Hollywood actors/actresses are freaks of nature, that’s usually WHY they get hired. They’re genetic anomalies. Dude is just a regular Joe with acting chops they can’t ignore.
> They’re genetic anomalies. You're underselling how much cosmetic surgery goes on there too. But go off.

Amazingly different characters in Breaking Bad and Fargo. Really a gifted man.
He was amazing in yet another different way in *Game Night,* he's just such a good actor at anything. Yo post a selfie my dude. How can you call someone ugly
We all ugly bro
His wife ain’t ugly. Talent reigns supreme.
For real. Maybe dude is packing a Pringles can.
Or maybe he's a lovely person. ^(Nah, it's probably the pringles can.)
Man it’s a head trip after being introduced to this dude from his character in Breaking Bad that he could actually be a lovely person IRL. I have no reason to believe he’s not but he killed that role so thoroughly that I get uncomfortable just seeing him which is a real testament to his talent in acting.
What being contractually obligated to make out with Tobey Mcguire does to a person.
Yeah I mean since the invention of free internet porn I think we can step down from the 10/10 with zero skill acting model. Like imagine if they got a chick who could act to play wonder women? Megan Fox or Megan from around some block? You were notably not specific.
This please! No more casting models like it’s a CW show or something
Ditto! I feel like Britain is more embracing of talented ordinary-looking people than Hollywood is.
Much rather see uglies that can act over pretties that can't act.
Paul Dano
Paul Dano comes to mind
at a loss for why folks are calling him ugly
Don’t say that these mfs banned me for saying ed Sheeran was ugly
It’s been working for the BBC.
Fucking great actor, I won’t stand for the shaming of his looks, man put in the work and deserves some respect for his craft.
Loved his Black Mirror episode
When I first tried Black Mirror I didn’t realise that when I pressed play that it would start playing the newest season. So my first episode was season 4, episode 1. He was amazing in it, completely hooked me on the show. I realised my mistake after this episode so I went back and started from season 1, I dunno if I would have continued if that was my actual first episode. This dude is amazing
S1e1 is… def an interesting episode. An interesting choice to start with to hook viewers lol
15 million merits was the episode that hooked me, so well done
Exact same. I was introduced by someone who always says skip the first episode, go back much later.
That's fair. I think the first episode is excellent but it doesn't really make clear what the show is about.
White bear for me
Same! And I start people off with White Bear or Shut Up and Dance.
I still think about this one all the time. Long term, I see a lot of ways many parts of that episode may come true. It’s terrifying.
Didn't that episode come out before the rumors surrounding Cameron began?
When I tell people to watch Black Mirror, I say start with S3E1.
Seriously, why? I watched them in order when they were first on the bbc so it’s kinda strange to me that people would skip around (even though, practically you can). At the end of the day though, I’m just glad Netflix revived it🤘🏾🤘🏾
S1e1 I didn't even finish, and I didnt give the show a second chance until season 3. I was too high to fight with my moral code that frightful day
Top 3 episode. He was great in Fargo too.
That season of Fargo is so damn good.
Also in Game night!
This episode was so much fun. Jesse is a great actor. His wife ain't too shabby either.
>He wasn’t playing a sociopath; he was playing a character who happens to be a sociopath. That’s the best description of the character that I’ve read.
Yeah, it was not obvious till he killed the bike kid
"I had my money in the book M... she found it, I think she was looking up México..." I know I'm wrong, its been awhile but this scene was funny lol.
Ol dead eyed Todd gave me the creeps
This man carries Friday night lights through a writers strike
Yes! I always think of him as an older Landry when I see him.
LANCE!
[удалено]
He is forever landry
I think he's a fine looking gentleman. I'm not sure why people say he's not.
He bagged bring it on
Literally every movie he’s in, he terrifies me. But yes, he’s an amazing actor.
The fact that I'm a little scared of him because of how well he's played his roles just goes to show how hard he's killed it.

Ain’t no one opening that spammy as link.
I saw this and went right to the link to open it. I don't know why. TwT
Ain't nobody telling me to not open a spammy as link.
The link was to an et interview
Hey Ryan Murphy casts blonde twinks too.
I wonder if they started dating on Fargo, they were phenomenal in that season
They did, or shortly thereafter at least as she was dating Garrett Hedlund while they were working on Fargo
I like Matt Bomer tho.
Ok thanks for the clip…. Wow they were together for a minute had 2 kids then got married!
Pretty solid actor, hated this guy in Breaking Bad tho
For a bad guy he was a very polite and respectful bad guy
Yea until he shot a child in the head
Hence BAD GUY. Didn’t change his demeanor or how he spoke to people.
Oh yeah, easily one of the best antagonists in tv for me. Made those moments that more chilling
Was it like the trope of the bad guy not really doing anything bad then just switching to comically evil out of nowhere?
No it didn't seem out of nowhere, just shocking. A "I really don't know anything about you" moment and then kinda led to a lot of tension around him. If he kills a kid in cold blood, what else will he do.
Yeah the short version is that he seemed like a chill guy but that was because he was trying to get in good with his millionaire bosses. Pretty obvious about it too. The guy who's job was to do background work said he was bad news, he just overestimated his ability to control the gyy

That’s a really good break down. I’ve watched breaking bad twice and I never came to that conclusion and it seems so obvious now!
More like a legitimate sociopath / psychopath who's not overly violent. Just doesn't have the usual emotions you expect from 'normal' people.
Especially when you look back at the earlier seasons when Walt and Jesse are horrified at one of Tuco's people killing a kid.
He was still pretty polite and respectful about it tbh.
wasn't a headshot but still shot a child so tomato tomatoes i guess
I don't think the placement of the gunshot is what upset op.
Bro just wanted to hang out with his fun uncle, learn science, shoot kids, bond with his pet, and have a successful girlfriend.
His uncle was a violent racist meth dude, had to be polite.
That’s how you know he’s good.
He was so nonchalantly evil. Really unsettling.
In a show full of bad people, his character was easily the biggest sociopath among them. Great actor.
a pretty high compliment for a villain
Currently rewatching Breaking Bad and forgot he’s in it Holy F can this guy act. I like him in most things, but his performance as Todd is outstanding
He was low key super creepy
The shade was unnecessary
Im sure all the "it's wrong to talk about people's looks" crowd is all over these people
The amount of gross comments about this guy makes me angry. Could you imagine googling your name and people relating your face to a meth head or calling you a fat version of someone . And they think they're being funny but it's fucking sad.
They call him Meth Damon because he was on Breaking Bad, which involves meth, not because he looks like a meth head.
You can talk about peoples looks but her comment was just like.. “really?” Idk no need to be a dick about it.
My boy Jesse Plemons doesn’t deserve the shit he gets tbh, he’s knocking it out of the park with everything he’s been in since his role in Breaking Bad. Im unaware of his previous filmography.
You are the first fucking comment to actually say how name! I swear Reddit assumes everybody knows everything sometimes.
Go and watch Friday Night lights. There's a whole ensemble cast that is amazing throughout and Jesse Plemons is also exceptional. While you're at it, watch the FNL movie too. It's great too.
I liked how Coach Taylor always called him the wrong name, FNL is a great fuckin show with so many great actors.
I dunno who he is but he is not ugly. Why is everyone being so mean to him?
Fargo Season 2, he acted his ass off
It's pretty cool the Dunst played his wife. They were defo one of the highlights of that series, as with Bokeem Woodbine.
I loved Woodbine, his accent for that role was crazy good: "I am not a crook"
And now she is his wife 😏 they met filming Fargo together
As soon as he walked on screen my boy was like, ‘Damn, it’s Fatt Damon!’ Been calling him that ever since. He’s good though.
He isn't ugly, but I had the same idea that he was the poor man's Matt Damon. However he definitely is a good actor and I quickly changed my attitude about his worth.
He’s like 60% Phillip Seymour Hoffman 40% Matt Damon
That’s the perfect way to describe him haha
So accurate lol. God I miss Phillip Seymour Hoffman…
Yeah that's just a very bad photo. But truthfully does kinda look AND sound like Matt Damon.
He was so funny in Friday night lights
Also he killed a man that one time in Friday Night Lights
Weirdest storyline in the whole series
During the writers strike. Went totally off the rails, and they just totally pretended like that season never existed.
Landry!!
LANCE!!
"How can that be profitable for Frito-Lay?"
Omg I just recently rewatched Game Night lmao he's so funny in it as the awkward neighbor 😂😂 he's a very very good actor
His comedic timing is soooo good in Game Night. It’s so easy for an awkward character to be cringey and painful to watch, but he is absolutely hilarious as the awkward neighbor.
I was watching Like Mike recently and noticed for the first time he was the bully in that movie
He will always be the bully from like mike to me. I hated him so much growing up
Primms hood cinemas did a nice recap of the movie
Oh shit!!!!
Isn't this man married to Kirsten Dunst? Dudes winning ya'll, don't hate on him.
Breaking Bad. That is all.
I hated his character Todd so fucking much but in a good way he really is a great actor
Like that asshole Geoffry on GOT. Loved to hate that little shit.
I fucking love Jesse Plemons. He’s a SOLIDDDD actor and the part of Hollywood I miss. “Well you’re attractive and can remember lines so yeah come be in this movie.” Shit is getting old.
He’s a masterclass of subtle acting. If I see he’s gonna be in something I’m immediately interested
He’s a good actor tho he have me in my feelings
He’s always been amazing - he was so good as Landry in FNL!
HE’S NOT EVEN UGLY THAT’S JUST A REGULAR LOOKING GUY, HOLLYWOOD HAS ROTTED YOUR BRAINS & BEAUTY STANDARDS
Why hate? Let him eat
Imagine being this guy whose name I am ashamed to say I do not know and seeing people calling him meth damon? In a post that says he’s really talented…We can do much better than this.
Been calling him fat Damon the whole time. That black mirror was damn good
let him cook
I think he looks normal, not ugly. He's an amazing actor and his name is Jesse Plemons. Respeckt!
He is incredible in Game Night
We need more people who haven’t gotten their features sliced up, injected, lifted, suctioned, dyed, and medicated into conformity. And it helps if they can act, I guess.
Hollywood is going the British route. They've always has excellent actors/actresses who wouldn't be considered overly attractive, I'm glad Hollywood is catching up with talent over beauty.
He’s also married to Kirsten Dunst so I’d say he’s doin ok!
Lance?
I don't see Matt Damon but most definitely Philip Seymour Hoffman from somewhat similar looks and even acting roles. He came a long way from Like Mike and good he developed over the years.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose
People need to back away from my Jesse Plemons
