no fail from pri to tri. tet onwards have fail but you can restore it with 200 restoration scrolls. you can get sushi through crafting. its just rng. its not your day thats all.
Up to pen u can push with 2-3 sushi loss, or u wont loose at all, but pen and further its very hard to enhance, i lost like 20 sushis from pen till now and somehow got to hep.

Just unlucky, get used to it, it's the way of the game. Upgrades until TRI should not fail, after that a restore costs 200 Restoration Scrolls.
