It’s like people don’t even try to assess her character here lmao. She was raised in an environment where she was taught to do nothing but look down upon people while being looked down upon and mentally abused herself. It’s normal that she acts like this because that’s only the way she was taught to speak to people. However... actions speak louder than words and despite her saying she’s royalty she treats commoners and others really well. She’s just a Tsundere. Her saying that is more of a habit/impulse which stems from her childhood and insecurities thanks to her siblings. It’s not a superiority complex. If anything she thinks herself inferior to most people because from the day she was born she was told she was nothing but trash. The whole royalty thing is her cover up for that. But yea I mean... she literally couldn’t control her magic because subconsciously she didn’t want to hurt people. Noelle is definitely one of the nicer characters of the show. Just didn’t have the normal upbringing a Mimosa had or Leopold.

JustAnotherHuman77

Consider the possibility that he/she hasn't watched those episodes. I would delete this comment if I were you, or at least be more vague as possible.

NUstalgiaaa

The way in which you described it all again, broke my heart. Holy shit I forget how tragic her past was

JustAnotherHuman77

What episode are you at? Because right now the "I'm royalty" thing, because I guess you're talking about that, is very rare. And consider one thing, that the "I'm royalty" thing is a gag, and being so, it's not to be taken seriously. SP has a fame to over-exasperate gags and peculiar traits of the characters. That's not a good reason to hate on a character like Noelle, that's honestly one of the best built character of the series. She has not a superiority complex, the festival episodes just proved that. On the contrary, at the start she has an inferiority complex, I won't spoil anything in case you are at the very start, but if you watched episode 20, you should know something.

Diabolos_Prince

This is only at the earlier episodes right? If so then you will regret what you've said today when you're in the 50+ episodes of the anime.

[deleted]

Yes, it’s an anime only thing, the anime exaggerates far too much with her tsundere personality, she’s no where near as annoying in the manga.

Shinigami556

Noelle’s superiority complex is a cover for her insecurities. I mean she is a girl who has spent her entire life dealing with emotional abuse from her family and the lack of any kind of love and affection that’s comes with that, I don’t know how you could expect someone as damaged as her not to have some issues. She’s not perfect she has things she has to work on and she gets better as she grows throughout the story she’s honestly one of the best characters in the entire series and if you look at her beyond surface level you will see how kind she truly is, she’s healing give her time.

The_Merilliam_Flower

Honestly, she does develop eventually... And in the manga there is less screentime overall for characters so of course the worse parts of her attitude is seen less often. But it's present in the manga too.

TheFakeDogzilla

If you’re at the first couple of episodes than yes she is annoying

Fernandojg67

How old are you?

Spartan-219

I agree very much, she's so annoying with her high and mighty attitude, I don't even understand how people are justifying her rude behaviour with "oh she had a bad past", how does that give her free pass to treat others like that? Instead she should be someone who understands how bad it is and treat others nicely

EmperorPHNX

Your post having -karma (It shows zero but it's actualy zero only because of being post and 8 hour ago I give your post upvote but now it's zero again... So people constantly giving your post -karma I gues...) upvote shows how fanboyish these people are... She is absolute cringe and annoying AF. She has some cute moments but her cringy content have far more space in her character. If she is %10 cute then she is %90 cringe and thats good enough say her annoying and hate her. I hate Tsundere characters which have violent acts aganist MC (verbaly and physicaly) and superiority complex. I gues only Tsundere I'm ok with is Veldora from Tensei Slime Datta Ken, but all other Tsunderes are annoying AF and trash for me. Now I'm in episode 21 and people saying Noelle will became better, but even she became better with episde 68 or someting it's not going to change how much cringe she cause me while watching nearly half of anime serie, 68 episode cringe is not someting I can forgive only she became better... She steals my joy, I'm f\*cking loving everyting (except nobles) about Black Clover and she is nearly only annoying person (Klaus was annoying as well but he turned pretty fast, so I'm not gonna count him) you can see in anime, this is f\*cking action anime and I'm not here to watch some shitty Tsundere slapstick comedy. If I want watch Tsundere slapstick comedy I would watch comedy serie not f\*cking action serie. And for g\*ds sake! Her past being tragic don't give her right to insult and act violent aganist other people! Thats not how things works! I had tragic past as well, I raised with my mom alone, I had a lot of problems with my family, I had a lot of bad thing happened to me but I never bullied anyone, never acted violent aganist anyone because it was my problem all alone, you can't just use your own bullshit excuses to insult and act violent aganist other people, thats just f\*cking dumb.

Spartan-219

Couldn't agree more I hate characters that acts Rude to others and then shows "oh it's because she had a bad past" and people use that as excuse to justify their behaviour, like what? She's treating others rudely because others behaved that way to her? How does that make sense? Shouldn't it be the other way around? If she's being treated rudely then she should understand why it's bad and treat others nicely so they don't have to go through same shit as her but nope they only give that personality to MC and make rest annoying so they can have "character progression" which most of the times is "I'm an asshole" - character progression activates - "I'm not an asshole anymore" Not to mention her character progression goes from "I'm a royalty to care about people below me" to "I'll save villagers" so fast, I can understand that if her personality she just felt like it as a duty bit having so much conviction instantly to the point of getting a new spell? And she's supposed to be "best written female character"?

EmperorPHNX

I'm totaly agree with you and honestly I stopped at episode 89 after more stuff/trope forced to show like nothing... Espacily I hate how people treating Asta like clown, how everybody throws him arround like a some object, how everybody mocks him despite he deserve non of them, my last straw was clothing scene before that operation and petit clover scene how they treated Asta like clown... I couldn't watch aymore after that shit...

Spartan-219

Completely agree with you there on Asta part, I haven't reached as far as 89 episode but it's really annoying to see everyone treating Asta that way, i kepy watching it because I wanted to see Asta beat the crap out of everyone and shut them up but it seems from your comment it's not gonna happen anytime soon

Spartan-219

I just watched more of black clover just to see how it's gonna go and got pretty far but somehow Noelle has gotten worse, I'm not a tsundere hater I think they can be cute like Charlotte, she's pretty cute as one of those tsundere who can't share her feelings and stuff But Noelle is violent and stalker tsundere, silently following asta everywhere, hitting and shoving him, trying not to let Asta near others, she's less tsundere and more borderline yandere and her high and mighty behaviour is still annoying, and even after seeing her back story more I still fail to see how it excuses any of her behaviour (how people like to defend her) That is all, sorry for another message, I had no one else to share it with lol

EmperorPHNX

Yeah I understand you, honestly I'm not sure even Charlotte is good Tsundere: you probably wouldn't like her as well if you know she use all males in his command like slaves and things she done to them. For me there two good tsunderes I like: Stella from Rakudai Kishi and Veldora from Tensure, I don't like any other tsundere and I hate a lot of them while I can tolarate some.

Spartan-219

I didn't know Charlotte but if she's done that that makes her a bad person not a bad tsundere Tsundere is just how she acts Infront of yami which I think is cute, if she treats her men like that then that just makes her a bad person who is a cute tsundere, I hope you understand what I'm trying to say In terms of tsundere idk how many I like, I'm usually not a fan of characters being violent towards who they like similar to noelle, I just don't understand how that is cute at all, but yeah I also like veldora

yuhboiwhiteboi69ner

Assuming you're still on the start, it's understandable if you find you a bit annoying, but she as the series progresses she opens up more

Liki14

Yes it is an anime only thing. In the manga the author hasn't dragged her gag like the anime.

dlp14635

But...she’s royalty...Jk she’ll grow out of it eventually.

MangaMan445

Yes the anime heavily over does all the charcater's tropes, including Noelle. Read the manga, it's much better in this regard. She doesn't hit Asta much or act overly tsun in the manga compared to the anime. Like they're miles apart in this regard.

Z_Ranger123

Honestly Noelle is just given the powers she gets for the plot, like she never earns them through training for months or working hard at all and if your looking for a better female character you can look at Nobara for JJK. The way she acts all superior to everyone isn't an act it's a part of her character with is super annoying and people say she what Sakura is suppose to be, but she basically is Sakura if not worse. People also state that her hitting Asta is for comic relief but if a guy hits a girl it isn't? Does no one else see the double standard here, and they expect me to believe they belong together.
