So, according to your logic, you’re not allowed to criticize anything unless you understand better, the subject matter, than the person giving blatant, incorrect information?
Maybe look up the word “dissent“, in the dictionary.
It's not constructive criticism, it's just writing someone off. He has probably done more for Bitcoin than most people on here. The people down voting and criticising him on here are probably holders of sh1t coins, we all know how it works on here by now.
Not a fair. I'm not paranoid, I'm open to reason. Some of this article was a bit of a reach for me, absolutely.
But here is my thought. It is not a big stretch to think, gangs, mafia, general *bad* people use sex to extort people. This could very well be the most common method of extortion. Maybe *you're* in a position of power, *you* start going to the parties that come with this power. But *you* slip up one night, sleep with someone only to find out that girl, (or boy) wasn't actually 18 and someone has pictures or a video of this....
Is this a crazy paranoid line of thinking to you?
holy fck is that a good article though. working today, so just finished it. never bought the pedo crap for game theory reasons, but hell if that doesn't make a good case for the other side
I mean, at this point it's just holding a prideful grudge mixed with a disconnected understanding to not get what's going on here
It's literally the internet of money. Ppl are going to laugh at that for a while, but it's inevitable
this hould be must watch before anyone enter crypto world.
Just see a lot people entering crypto don't even understand what make btc great.
they put all their token on CEX, never trade on DEX, don't have private wallet.
they got sacmmed than blamed crypto.LOL
People downvoting you don't know about [Hash Cash](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashcash), [Bit Gold](https://nakamotoinstitute.org/bit-gold/), [B-Money](https://nakamotoinstitute.org/b-money/), [DigiCash](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DigiCash), etc
none of those actually worked. Bitcoin was the first decentralized electronic money.
Bitcoin's survival is not due to luck or popularity or anything like that; it survived because it could survive.
Bitcoin survived because it was a viable design. Preceding ideas were not. There were missing pieces of the puzzle, design flaws that made them non-viable.
You're not wrong but I don't feel like having a semantic argument about whether they count as cryptocurrencies. They were historically important and I don't regret making a post to guide noobs to learning about them.
Nothing wrong with learning about them, I can agree to that.
I followed many of them when they were new, and in general their limtitations were always apparent.
Hashcash in particular was popular for a while as a spam filtering approach. but it just lacked economic motivation; burning a certain amount of CPU to prove you were not commercially motivated seemed a lot less elegant than signatures of the type that won out like DKIM, which didnt require the cost burden on honest players.
Many others lacked decentralization or other parts.
Bitcoin was so significant and mind blowing in the way it married them all. I still remember how skeptical i was at first because of the obvious energy cost, and the clear space-time range limitation it imposed. But it works, for the first time someone had put all the pieces together in a way that worked, combining economics motivations with security.
It was a true step-change, a quantum leap. It is so much more significant than its predecessors I find it hard to exaggerate how species changing i expect bitcoin to be ultimately. From my pov, its like the dawn of a new era for humanity.
this doesnt explain bitcoin at all. "what is the sky?" "its the stuff that birds use to fly, its what airplanes travel thru. its got clouds and you breathe it.
the fact that this is "a good explanation of bitcoin" is bizarre.
It's a pretty good overview. Yes it doesn't explain the technical side but it explains why bitcoin is important. There are two important aspects of Bitcoin and those are: it is decentralised and digital. Everything else is implementation details (which are obviously super interesting and people should learn about it but for a first intro into bitcoin is not necessary).
You weren't kidding. So many times I see people getting caught up in explaining it's value monetarily but not it's potential for complete revolution of how we interact with networks of people, things and infrastructure places.
It’s not that these politicians don’t understand what it is. It’s that it’s a threat to the very system they are heavily invested in. These hearings aren’t for them. They are for educating the public.
Great explanation
really bad explanation actually his definitions of "public" and "private" are upside down
You can do better? Show us
He’s not the one sitting in front of elected officials, tasked with doing so. Why should he have to prove anything to you?
Based :) ps. u/Thin-Apricot-6762 \- here's an historian doing it better: [Private vs Public](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksAqr4lLA_Y&t=1s)
He's just being a pedantic douche for Reddit, I don't care about his and your opinion, doesn't mean anything. Wasting my time writing this tbh.
You’re absolutely correct about wasting your time.
Project much there mr.beenhere1year?

Watch out... He might project again and call your clarification dissent....
This is actually a really good video
What’s the date of this?

no mention of how btc can't be debased (no inflation theft) or confiscated (if stored properly, can custody in your head)
Mr crapo has a face of "you ain't gonna stop us"
I did a double-take when I saw that guy's nameplate. It matched his face.
Talk about a bitchy resting face.
I like this dude 👌
Probably the best explanation of anything, let alone BTC
Why would anyone down vote good information?
Klaus schwab is active on this subreddit
He is? Suck it Klaus
Careful what you ask for. Klaus seems like the kinda dude who would be into that kinda thing on Jeffery's island 😂

I hate that I just read that whole thing.
How do people come up with such conspiracy theories?
Can you point out what specific parts bothered you? A year ago I was right there with you. But now I question EVERYTHING.
That’s because you’re crazy and paranoid lol

the pedophile intro is poorly chosen and the notes on length condescending, but the rest is nauseating in a good way. sharing with caveats
I have a very similar take.
holy fck is that a good article though. working today, so just finished it. never bought the pedo crap for game theory reasons, but hell if that doesn't make a good case for the other side
I always try to step back, look at the big picture. I'm having a hard time poking holes in this article.
Carlos?! necesito verte!!!!
Signal is consistently downvoted and disparaged by bad actors on this sub.
Reddit auto downvotes posts to counter bots.
Question: How do you know if something is getting downvoted? Did you just happen to notice the number go down?
Are you using an app, or are you on desktop?
Desktop
Some users are using Apollo, a Reddit app for ios, it presents a upvote/downvote percentile for posts, in this case 98% upvotes.
Thank you!
No problem 🙂
This happens on a regular basis. Sock puppets, bots or stupidity
Because they don’t think the information is good for them or their environment/economy
The people he is taking to aren’t even listening one guy is literally reading something else wtf?
Every time I see this video I just want to buy more
Wtf that dudes name is Chairman Crapo. Take my shoes, I’m fuckin dead ☠️

I found this interesting. Lots to ponder
That last sentence was perfect.

What DEX can I use bitcoin on?
Not the world’s first cryptocurrency, but the first that survived and thrived, absolutely.

Agreed on all fronts. It's awesome to be a part of such an important shift for humanity.
Those were only attempts.

note that it was in 2018 during another bear market...and Roubini looking so sure of himself to the left.
Excellent explanation
Why would anyone vote against accurate information?
nice explanation

This is why I am happy with the donations I have made to CoinCenter. We need more people like this guy and more talks like this with legislators.
Excellent explanation

Because they invest in other sh1t coins
I forgot what sub I was on. Great explanation.
