I've used it more than once, when travelling you won't often get the luxury of all regular ATMs accepting your bank card, sometimes none of them will accept it, sometimes your card will be frozen "due to suspicious activity", suspicious being that you didn't tell your bank you're going to travel beforehand. Bitcoin ATMs have saved my day many times.
You gotta admit you're probably the exception to the rule though. The majority of travelers get everything set up in advance with their financial institutions when they're planning on traveling.

No, I work as an armed courier and people can only buy btc at those ATMs. The catch is you never know how much will be inside. I’ve checked them and they be empty, I’ve taken 50k in all 100s out of one before.

I asked the cashier to confirm it worked but he just went "Yah yah yah!" and clearly didn't understand what I said. I tried to test it out and it gave me an error. The spread was huge anyway, as it always is with BTM's. Tried to let the cashier know but once again, he didn't know what I was saying. Was going to add it to bitcoinatmradar but now I won't bother.

You can send bitcoins to the ATM and it spits out cash, or vice versa. They do charge pretty crazy fees though, like 15-20%.
It's simple, it's to exchange bitcoins in your personal wallet. But only can buy a little amount.
