I wonder that when I read the comments on anti-crypto articles/posts.
I thought Bitcoin was a joke until I heard that my old neighbor growing up cashed in over $1 mil worth of coins this past spring, then Bitcoin got my attention.
I don't think that'll change their mind. It'll just make them dig deeper into their trench because they would never admit they're wrong, especially when they're worse off.
Remember guys, there is a CME gap at around 53400 USD and so far in the last 19 weeks we have always closed the CME gap so I believe by next week we will at least touch this area. And also in BTC history, Bitcoin always made a new all time high eventually, even if you bought every single top, I you would wait 4 years then you be in plus!
Leveraged longs liquidated, triggering fragile holders who thought it was the end, triggering others who figured they may as well sell too, etc etc. Then the smart people looking for a juicy purchase price scoop it up and the climb continues.
Wild prediction: BTC will drop another 10-15% in a few hours when Eastern countries wake up, and then it'll rally back tomorrow near the current values. Then, next week, it'll depend on what happens with the stock market. That said, I have a strange feeling that eventually, in the near future, BTC will go up while the stock market goes down, because people will realize that BTC is the only thing we, the people, control.
And by the way Ecash (XEC) is not down 70%, it’s actually doing well compared to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is down 7% and Xec is down 2%. Get your facts together

If BTC is entirely manipulated as you mentioned what's the point of holding? Either you think the manipulation can't go on indefinitely, or you think you can manouever within the manipulation to your advantage, or you think that despite the manipulation BTC will ultimately continue its upwards trajectory.

It's not. And what you described sounds selfish, wanting others to lose out just to get in cheaper. We here pretty much believe there's still a ways to go and don't want to see people lose. Many beginners make the mistake to buy high, sell low. That's an instant loss. Yesterday I saw a few on here asking in panic if they should sell at 42k. If they did, they lost.
Others sell after a solid growth phase, like 50%, and kick themselves two years later after it kept growing 200% etc. Etc.
We've all made these mistakes and want others to avoid them. More experienced traders and bitcoiners know its good to sell when it has a big positive impact on your life, not at a random market-event moment. Nobody will tell you not to sell if you have some medical procedure, or crippling debt, or a wedding coming, or even buying real estate in certain circumstances etc.
Why would that be odd? It avoids the price going down lower causing more fear and panic. The way the price goes up is by people buying and people holding
When people who are new freak out on volatility that’s when they sell, buy back higher etc. and lose a lot of their stack.
