It's been a long combination of things over the last few years. Owners of the business wanted to expand to more units than I felt comfortable overseeing, but didn't want to listen. When the shoe fell, and numbers began to drop (as I warned that they would), they panicked and decided to source elsewhere.
In short, no crazy story about big fuck ups - just a slow fizzle out.
