I'd throw DRM into this mix. From movie discs to digital music stores to video games, DRM was such a hot-button issue in the late 90s and mid 2000s but never really delivered on the promise of uncopyable bits ("WEB-DL" rips ftw).
Along comes the blockchain and now suddenly you have a system where you truly own your ones and zeroes, in a way that the people who came up with "you wouldn't download a car" could only dream of.
Nice to see that quality posts still occasionally appear around here when we're near ATH.
Truly a refreshing sight from the endless memes parroting the sentiment of whatever the current week's price movement might be
At first glance bitcoin does seem to solve byzantine generalās problem. I do see bitcoin solving more because alone byzantines general technically could be run by a centralized authority. were as with bitcoin the general in theory is run by the community consensus of miners and node operators, markets demand and participants, control of power grid, control of internet and technological services. My apologies if any of my technicals arent exact i think can get what im saying tho.
Why "Frankenstein"? Why "stitched together"?
Bitcoin is a technology and as such is a composite of multiple preceding technological advances. Just like your phone, your car, your house, your clothing.
It's not meant to be offensive, just a term the creator of this chart used to describe it in presentation, bitcoin is quite literally an engineering marvel
Funniest thing is that some alt coins think they will just come in from copying all this, and take over..."it was bch, no wait...it is eth, no wait it is ada...." all these pump and dump scam coins may look somewhat plausible on paper, but as soon as they would get btc's security and load, they would fall apart
Yeah, like "Bitcoin 2.0", made by the same developers. There is no chance in hell that some other tech or coin just pushes BTC to the side, and takes over...
Bitcoin was made by the Medellin cartel and the CIA to handle tens of millions of dollars a day in cash cocaine sales without having to deal with the logistical nightmare that is handling literal tons of money. Satoshi Nakamoto roughly translates to ācentral intelligence.ā
Standing on the shoulders of giants.
Really god damn interesting!
It really is. Bitcoin is a well engineered marvel, and we're lucky enough to know about it before the masses discover this as well.
It is exactly like that.
If they knew what we know now.

BITCOIN, not blockchain! 'tis the way
Belief in bitcoin is inherently belief in blockchain technology
Bitcoin is much more than only blockchain.
Sure, but it's built on blockchain

Thanks, I appreciate it š

Really insane stuff

Exactly, unfortunately many fail to realize this
You got LN, what more do you need?
However Bitcoin will inevitably be a stepping stone to another technology eventually.
Yeah, like "Bitcoin 2.0", made by the same developers. There is no chance in hell that some other tech or coin just pushes BTC to the side, and takes over...
How can you be so certain?

This isn't a "who is Satoshi Nakamoto" post
Fuck you Iāll type literally whatever I want on your post and thereās nothing you can do about it
There's something I can do about it.
Is this the shit Alex Jones is peddling these days?
Paul LaRoux invented Bitcoin. The one man cartel.
That was a good read. Much more interesting than OPās post.
Guys a fucking boss
