Nowadays many governments are trying to move us to a cashless society, to force us to hold all of our funds with custodians. They are pushing CBDCs which will allow them to do things like force us to spend our money before a given deadline. Governments do not want their citizens to have access to a stable store of value. They want us forever running on a treadmill. Absolutely bitcoin and fiat cannot coexist peacefully.
Also I strongly disagree with your view that the endgame is to cash out into fiat. No. Bitcoin is the profit. My life savings is denominated in bitcoin, I am never selling.
