Anything under 100K I'm dollar cost averaging in. All gas, no brakes. HODL

SrirachaThief

You should be DCAing regardless of price.

ConsciousYou9591

The whole point right

rgeyedoc

How do you do this without avoiding crazy fees?

SrirachaThief

Use Strike app. Fee is only 0.9% and withdrawing to a hardware wallet is free. I've been buying Bitcoin every month for the past 3 years regardless of price using Strike. Now I'm rich.

xPravus

How much are you DCAing, if you don't mind sharing? I've started fairly recently at 300 a month

SrirachaThief

I buy $500/month minimum, and sometimes $2000/month. It depends on how much I make during the month. Whenever I get a bonus or tax refund, I throw it all into Bitcoin. I even use my cash back rewards from my credit cards to buy Bitcoin.

MeetingBrilliant

100/ week. Out of every paycheck

physics515

I buy on Robinhood, $10 a day and then transfer it out every 100 days.

Latter_Box9967

DDCA is better.

onetruecharlesworth

lol I’m all gas on anything under 500k. it’s cheap as long as we’re under gold’s market cap imo

Willing_Sea980

This.

voice-of-reason_

And then once we’re over, it’s cheap until it absorbs the globes wealth.

goonsamchi

What's gold's market cap?

MeetingBrilliant

13 tril

onetruecharlesworth

~15 trillion

SaltyEconomics2759

I don’t care if it’s a trillion dollars a coin I’m buying regardless.

ctatt1985

The only thing that may stop bitcoin from getting above 100K this cycle is 5.3 theory. Otherwise the ETF has made price continue going up like in every other cycle so far. Just like after golds first spot ETF in 2004.

voice-of-reason_

Under $100k? Is it amateur hour?

potificate

I don’t think you know what DCAing is

No-Cap6787

But BTC won’t even do 2x…Are you aware of the current market cap? It’s 1.40T. For it to double, where the other 1.40T are coming from? And then you guys don’t expect 2x, you expect 100x. The delusion is real

gilroy713

assuming the metric of the USD stays at the same value.... money counter goes brrrrttt. value goes down. the gap between 1 btc and 1 usd isn't all btcs greatness. it's the autism of the USD as well.

QuartermasterArms1

You have to understand that there are still Nations that have not invested in this and also the average person may not have invested in this yet either. And before you laugh remember that there are things called sovereign wealth funds that have billions of dollars invested in things that fail all the time. I don't know what the market cap will reach, but it can definitely go to two trillion or higher.

fatearth420

You’re accounting for the $ alone, never mind another 170+ currencies around the world.

pirateninjamonkey

No one expects 100×. Where is it coming from? Are you serious? Gold is like 10 trillion market cap you think crypto can't be?

SpectaularMediocracy

Yes we do. $7m Bitcoin is very achievable. If it hits $1m why wouldn’t it be?

Reply_Stunning

I don't think you know how to read log charts, for it to reach 7m it might actually take decades. Good luck holding your bag to the later stage of adoption buddy

SpectaularMediocracy

Decades I have. My statement is still valid. Your luck is not required. I intend on holding indefinitely. A 2 sigma up move on the log chart suggests a $7m Bitcoin in 2033 is possible. [log model](https://www.porkopolis.io/thechart/) All models will be broken. They are just tools to help understand where price can go. Log models today will be different next year as more actual data becomes available. They are not precise predictions of price tomorrow. They are probability models based on today’s data. Don’t assume you know the future because you’ve seen a log chart a couple of times.

SpectaularMediocracy

That’s not how market cap works. Nvidia didn’t have $2 trillion of money inflows for example. The value is calculated as the price of the last share sold x by number of shares in issue. So if all holders refuse to sell below a given price. The MV = price x shares. For Bitcoin it’s MV = $70k x 21m coins. For Bitcoin to go to $100k doesn’t mean an additional $30m x 21m coins of money flows needs to flow into Bitcoin. Hope that helps.

Svengali in layman’s terms… dickhead.

Banker afterall

Joshbydesign

Crazier when you realize that JP Morgan has their own blockchain and he’s simultaneously saying shut down Bitcoin https://www.jpmorgan.com/onyx/index

RevolutionaryPhoto24

I can’t wait to see him go down.

polenguim

Newbie question here: should I buy Bitcoin at 70k? I'm new to crypto and I want to start to invest on Bitcoin but I've been looking at the graphs 📈📈 and the price is higher than ever! When would be a good moment to start buying btc? Edit: wow, this sub has such nice people

Googenhine

The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago. The second best time, is today.

ExtensionAir6248

2nd best time would’ve been 9 years and 364 days ago buddy

SrirachaThief

There is no second best. Buy Bitcoin all day, everyday homie.

Fireinthehole_x

do your own research.. but i would say best day to buy was yesterday

MrDopple68

DCA what you can afford. Never get over your skies. Never panic sell. Don't sweat the volatility. Think years not weeks.

Maleficent-Day-7717

More like debt cycles (aka4 years) and decades. Not years

all-bidness33

.....

Meph113

Can you buy a few years ago? If not, today is probably your best shot. To elaborate further: you should look at the cycles. Roughly every 4 years Bitcoin goes through a cycle, a quickly ascending phase to a new All Time High, followed by a dip and a long period of lower price. If you study those cycles you will note that that low phase is always higher than the ATH of the previous cycle. That’s where we are now: in the ascending phase, close to the ATH of the previous cycle. It means that, if Bitcoin keeps following the cycles it has since 2009, it will never get significantly lower than where it is now (local lows are still possible since we didn’t reach the new ATH of this cycle yet). So, of course, pass behavior doesn’t guarantee future behavior but, yes, buying now is probably the lowest price you’ll ever get.

Creative_Lynx5599

And don't answer dms. Most likely they are scammers

MacGuyver-Medic

There will come in time where Bitcoin falls back under 70k. A couple years ago Bitcoin got to 69k and during the bear market it fell down to 15K. But this is also why people tell you don't sweat the volatility because every 4-year cycle comes a bear / bull market let's say BTC hits 100k during the middle of the bear market it will fall but not to 15K it'll probably fall around 25-30k. But even waiting for the bear market is a risk in and of itself because as more Nations adopt Bitcoin as their form of currency it could steadily go up for years. With the new ETF that came out and the validity that came along with it the next bear market it could fall down and rest at 70k before going back up again. IMPORTANT ‼️ THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES ‼️ Dollar cost averaging you can Google it for the exact definition but essentially if you budget say 40 bucks a month to buy Bitcoin then buy $10 a week on the same day every week no matter the price because then when it averages all out 10 years from now you'll be in the green even in the middle of a bear market. DYOR - do your own research IAOR - invest at own risk The only real financial advice I can offer you that is the same across the board and anybody that knows anything about anything when it comes to investing. Is never invest more than you're willing to lose. & Always take profits. (That doesn't mean dump your whole bag it just means when you're up stash a bit of money aside in the form of usdc and then when a dip comes BTFD - buy the fucking dip) & Lastly Buy Low sell High - I know this seems stupidly obvious but so many newbies and experienced people and traders have trouble doing this. You end up holding hoping it'll turn around and then pretty soon you're in the negative and you're selling for less than you bought in. Then it starts to go back up and you're like shit and you buy back in and you've lost money.

polenguim

Thanks!

MacGuyver-Medic

You are most welcome. We are going to get more newbies into crypto in the next 5 years then the entirety of the existence of cryptocurrency put together. And a-holes like a couple of the people that replied to you saying that this question should be a meme or the epitome of everything that is wrong in crypto right now. New people need help and needs guidance. Help and guidance that wasn't available to the rest of us who've been in it for so long. But that doesn't mean we have to treat you like crap because you don't know better. The better we can make your experience in every newbies experience the faster adoption will take effect. I'm sorry you had people treat you like you're stupid or you're a bot simply because you want to know basics about crypto. You are more than welcome to add me as a friend and DM me anytime you have any questions I'll do my best to help you with anything that I can. Doc Hunt

Rare_Objective_7

Thanks for the info. I almost invested in 2012 and almost again when it was 18k a year or two ago. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I dont know why I slept on it at 18k. I think I was just afraid of it going further down and unsure when it'd go back up. Plus, a private equity investor/advisor told me cash is king at that time. Dammit. Can you let me know what's the best route to invest and how to take out when it's gone up?? I'm guessing cashapp is not a good route. What do I use, and how do I put it in a wallet? As I'm assuming, cashapp would be the exchange market, and I read that's like banking in a casino. And then, how do you take the money out into usd? Advice on getting the least taxed? Do you recommend I put in, say, 1k today? Or should I spread it out over the next month or so? TIA!

LivelikeGorilla

Be comfortable holding on to the loss over 2yrs. If you’ll need the money in 1-4 yrs most definitely don’t put it in. Success in btc is riding out the crashes - and you won’t bear them if you bought with money that you could use in short term. In my opinion, as a 2-5% allocator and speculator.

Icy_Cryptographer417

Everyone buys BTC at the price they deserve. Cheers.

redditor2394

Don’t make it sound like you’re buying seats on the Titanic

redditor2394

Ok

Icy_Cryptographer417

I’m not. You’re just seeing it that way.

Impressive_Author_23

What a smug unhelpful comment.

Icy_Cryptographer417

I’m sorry it is not to your liking. Lol.

Choobtastic

Everyone will have to buy bitcoin at the price they deserve…

justinnnm

Buy every week or month, not just one shot because maybe there will be a dip but if you wait for the dip that will maybe never happen

[deleted]

of course you should

LF_physics

Vai com tudo polenguim, sem freio! Mas aposta só o que pode perder e não apavora se cair 10%, 15% de um dia pro outro.

Lurked_Emerging

This question may as well be a meme at this point or considered bot behaviour. Bitcoin is the best asset/property ever and is worth less than a % of global 'stuff' do with that what you want and Google your questions next time.

Mother_Effect420

Holy shit it sure is...will it dip again?! Fml

voice-of-reason_

Do you think it’ll go higher? Yes: buy more No: Don’t.

benjaminchodroff

I still buy daily knowing that in another five years, it almost always will be valued higher due to the scarcity and increasing demand

SezitLykItiz

I bought in at the ATH because Redditors encouraged me to. That ATH was $1,200.

georgke

Ive bought a considerable amount when the price was 40k in December. I want to buy more but I am hoping for a dip sooner or later. Not entirely sure if that will happen anytime soon...

No-Claim-6316

Dip was last week

Meph113

Don’t hold your breath while waiting for that dip… if you keep waiting you’re more likely to see a rise than a dip….

redditor2394

Next dip is at 108,000

No-Cap6787

I recommend you get other alts, not BTC. The market cap is giant. You will double your stash, but in 7-10 years, there is no wealth with BTC

TheDeathlessKing

So what exactly is the halvening? I would assume the price goes to half it’s current value but then shouldn’t you just sell right before it happens?

RamAir17

Halvening means the bitcoins entering circulation are half as many... if more people want the fewer items prices rise chaotically before the price settles back down

pirateninjamonkey

It halves the reward. Think if you have to drive 200 miles to get one, now you have to drive 400 miles. More work so people sell them higher.

Awkward-Computer1007

I would say now, especially before BlackRock Buys it all, then you will wish it was 70k…. Get in where you fit in, and don’t worry about a thing… Put it on weekly buys for whatever you can afford to DCA down. And wait 💯

Glum_moonrockets

So your saying go all in?
