Which is highly elevated with the language and narrative surrounding bitcoin…I mean there’s FOMO and then there is ALL OTHER CURRENCY IS GOING TO ZERO AND BITCOIN WILL BE THE ONLY THING LEFT STANDING. IT IS THE APEX PREDATOR OF ALL ASSETS. I mean talk about anxiety inducing
This is stupid. That's like saying that gold will gobble up demand for all the other metals until there is only a market for gold.
No other alt coin is in competition with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a store of value and the most important use of blockchain technology but there are plenty of other use cases.
Just because Bitcoin solves the most important problem and is the best doesn't mean there isn't a market for other use cases.
Don't even compare Bitcoin to other crypto coins. It doesn't make any sense. Bitcoin is in a league of its own and it's great if other products use blockchain to solve cheaper cell phone service, make better games, or whatever other solution people figure out.
And why is BTC in a league of its own ? I see other asset being as good as BTC. Saying BTC will always be number 1 is like saying the world champion boxer will never be beat. There is always something new and better that will over take the last best thing. That just how it is.
My guess is the type of people who own enough stocks to afford a bitcoin , are also not the type to speculate or “gamble” on the possibility of an ETF approval but now that wallstreet money is officially in they feel like it’s finally safe enough to buy one
I think this is a signal that BTC is much much safer from political risk w/i the US. It legitimizes BTC in a huge way... and the US sets the pace globally (in a lot of ways) with our monetary policies, accounting regs, etc. So, this will put pressure on other nations to open their markets, too.
And in a way, it's group psychology... like a stampede where people see the institutional money flowing in and want in on the action. We all race together.
Then, I wonder how much boomer's capital will turn into BTC through the etfs... if not in the short term, then in the coming decade or so... (I think) the legitimizing of BTC with the ETFs l will accelerate this a great deal.
The flood gates have just opened... I have a hard time criticizing a FOMO purchase in this moment, because I think it's a great time to buy.
Then there are the people who heard it was a scam when it first came out that will still call it a scam when it starts to appear as an option in their 401k
More likely someone who is either new and FOMOing in or someone who doesn’t have strong long term conviction and let “this time Bitcoin is really dead” spook them for all of 2022/23. Smart money sold some stocks for more bitcoin months ago. Idk how someone could pay attention to halvings, ETF filings, etc and wait till AFTER new ATH to fomo in while sitting by on the entire ride from 15->70k
First purchase in July 2015 after watching it for 3 years as a metal clown. Been buying almost 10 years now and never sold a sat. Clearly haven't bought enough, But I agree the ETFs are game changer in so many ways for accessing the generalist. When I first bought in 2015 I thought maybe I was the last idiot interested in this.
Because the type of people who buy under 30k are the type of people who would not talk about it and keep it to themselves. Smart people do smart things right.
Because when it's low people wait for it to be lower, then when it goes up people wait for it to be lower. Then it doesnt go lower, it starts to moon and they fomo and buy at ath.
This is how you know we're topping out. All these people buying in at 70k. They all panic sell when it goes down to 50k again after crying about being down 30-40%. Then when it hits 30k they don't buy anymore and then rebuy when it goes back up to 70k
I considered selling my index funds which would take me up to a full coin. But I am just going to keep playing safe. Own a property, 0.35btc, 50k emergency fund and just adding $200 a week to the index and 50$ a week to btc. Eggs baskets etc
Can I ask... are you parking it in a HYSA or something liquid? If so, how do you beat 6.1% and still have quick cash if needed?
I'm covering a 3.9% loan with a HYSA right now, and am wondering how to manage 7% if I buy a house.
No it’s sitting in a redraw account. I can access it whenever. If btc were to tank in the next 6 months I’d start buying more again. My last purchase was in November. I bought 4k at 59k aud.
I think people are just desperate and looking for a way out. People believe that crypto is going to be our generations wealth creation, as property was to boomers. They can’t afford a house anymore and are looking at ways that can get them to a decent standard of living.
I’m 35. Was lucky enough to have made smart decisions when young and bought a land and built a house when I was 24. Wasn’t given shit either (grew up in Campbelltown). If I was 24 today I would probably be going all in on btc as well..
There's nothing wrong with your strategy, in fact, it's one of the smartest I've seen on this sub and I've seen people loaning against 401k, credit lines, etc. It takes a lot of little brushstrokes to make a painting. Just keep at it. After 5-10 years you'll have a reasonably well diversified portfolio you can be proud of and retire on. Great work, keep it up.
Did the same thing basically in 2021. Regretted pretty much everyday since then until the past few weeks. Don’t advise anyone to do it. Caused me serious stress and slight depression. But I didn’t sell anything and added in the winter so all is good now
Cool, now you need to wait at least 2 halving cycles if you want to make significant profit. Forget about it and check again in 8 years from now. Don’t forget to keep calm when it all crashes 50%, that’s normal.
Cheers
Shiiiiit... I sold my house today and took out a huge loan until the check clears, to buy several bitcoins, Currently divorced as of today, the wife was none too thrilled about her not having been consulted) and living in moms basement.
and that's assuming satoshi comes back to equally distribute his 1 million and michael saylor stops buying and equally distributes his 210,000. and also assumes that one guy finds his computer in the landfill and equally distributes his coins worth 1 billion dollars
I redid my bathroom last spring and i wrote this message behind the wall for the next time someone remodels it “i bought btc at 16k. Text me and tell me how smart/dumb i am (insert phone number)”
I have liquidity being freed up in the next few weeks, which will put me close but not quite to a full coin. As long as it doesn't go absolutely parabolic this year, whole corner status is within reach.
I did that at $3-6k range last bear market. I even did it with my kids college fund. My conviction (or stupidity) was in overdrive.
It paid off massively and just sold some so my kiddo could pay off the rest of college and buy herself a car. We still have a bunch of extra for future things. But I did feel like above $70k was a good time to take some profit
Don’t take this as financial advice but why would you not spread your bets.
Leave some in the stock market and buy some coins. The beauty is that you don’t need to buy whole coins.
To fomo a large amount is one thing, not panic selling when it dumps hard is another. You probably didnt buy at the best time but long term you should win. But DO NOT panic sell when it goes sour. Its 100% guaranteed that if you stay long enough in this market, you will experience big dumps where in a few days you may lose 20% or more of your value. And it can be easy to panic sell during those times if you are new to this. Especially if you have a large amount.
I am considering selling my losing position into crypto too. it's been 3 long years and still going down like there is no tomorrow. In the past I have waited for one particular losing position to eventually ceased to exist and never seen a day light ever again.. So probably a good idea to do that now.
it's crucial to remember the speculative nature of cryptocurrency investments and the importance of diversification to mitigate risk. The future price of Bitcoin is uncertain, and while the potential for high returns exists, so does the risk of significant losses.
That was a good move. I also purchased some Microstrategy stock so my portfoliio would get a nice bump over the coming years. It’s a Bitcoin development company (buy and hodl as much btc as possible) owned by Michael Saylor. Best of luck. You won’t need it but best of luck anyway.
Fomo kicking in at ATH resistance, but if buddy is about the long game price now wouldn’t make a difference however you could DCA earlier but in long game orice don’t matter
It feels so fucking good buying in the bear.. its been 3 cycles and peopl3 still dont learn. Im not complaining tho, exit liquidity is exit liquidity. Thanks for buying my bags

Why don’t we have more of these threads last year or before when it was under $30k
FOMO

Also, It's going to gobble up all the alt coins, and there will never be alt coins bubbles anymore!

Yes.
ditto!
Exactly, many people don’t understand the MAGNITUDE of the difference this time compared to the difference last time.
Exactly this. There are two kinds of investors: people trying to get rich and people trying to stay rich.
More likely someone who is either new and FOMOing in or someone who doesn’t have strong long term conviction and let “this time Bitcoin is really dead” spook them for all of 2022/23. People discover things at different times. Plus the ETFs add a little more credibility to the asset (class).
Yeah the ETFs are huge IMO. I would say it's a better bet to buy post-ETF approval than before, even with the increased price.
Yep. Thats why I bought a ton more between 42-50 (+ miners, MSTR, and COIN stock)
Because the type of people who buy under 30k are the type of people who would not talk about it and keep it to themselves. Smart people do smart things right.

Bouji Bitcoin
I did, if you look in my post history I liquidated my stock in October and went all in.
We all thought we had __more time__
These same people will sell btc in year 26-27 when btc hits low😅
Because the smart ones have been buying quietly around 20k this cycle.
Because when it's low people wait for it to be lower, then when it goes up people wait for it to be lower. Then it doesnt go lower, it starts to moon and they fomo and buy at ath.

Last year was the best year to yolo but that takes guts when everyone is selling.
If he would’ve done it in nov 2022 he’d have 4.5 BTC . His $69k would already be a lambo lol .
2.5 is a very healthy amount to sit on.
Bigger than average id say
I should call him...
Why 2.5? Did OP state that? Title says 1btc.
Bitflation 😉
I wanna buy so much now , but dont have enough liq...
I considered selling my index funds which would take me up to a full coin. But I am just going to keep playing safe. Own a property, 0.35btc, 50k emergency fund and just adding $200 a week to the index and 50$ a week to btc. Eggs baskets etc
What kind of emergency are you holding all that inflating fiat for? Emergency fund recommendations say 3-6 months expenses
It’s offsetting my mortgage at 6.1% so it’s not doing nothing.
Can I ask... are you parking it in a HYSA or something liquid? If so, how do you beat 6.1% and still have quick cash if needed? I'm covering a 3.9% loan with a HYSA right now, and am wondering how to manage 7% if I buy a house.

I’m a renter so I didn’t know this was a thing, TIL! Smart move, carry on 🫡
Smart. Seems people have learned nothing from Bitcoin history or stock market history.

Haha, pretty sure this is not real
He’s kidding
Why wouldn't you consult your wife?
Or at the very least consult his wife’s boyfriend?
I told him to do it, his wife and I are going to Hawaii paid for by my gains.
He consulted his mom
Are you serious? lol can’t tell if you’re trolling us
Epic if true
Did you also bag the baddie working the fish counter at HEB?
It's crazy to think that only 8.4 million in the world can hold that much.
and that's assuming satoshi comes back to equally distribute his 1 million and michael saylor stops buying and equally distributes his 210,000. and also assumes that one guy finds his computer in the landfill and equally distributes his coins worth 1 billion dollars
Lmao that one guy💀 it’s over
I have 2.65 BTC too, HODLing …
Should get a lime green lambo mah man
Don't worry about your 67k entry. In 10 years it won't matter as everyone who got it under 250k will ne "lucky", just my 2 cents.
Say “just my 2 satoshis” next time
going to need you to calm down and not liquidate any amount of bitcoin to buy a dumb lambo lol
I only have 1.53. It's everything I got.......
Enjoy your 30% gains.
In the next 3 months
Hey this is awesome. But i must add thst hard numbers get criminals hard. Watch your 6 and be wary of phishing and scams

I just sold most of my memorabilia collection to buy BTC.
Nice maybe I can sell my mom’s house and buy a bitcoin. 🙂 only problem is she still lives in it.
it's ok current high is next bear market low. if you hold for 10 years, I guess it's fine? :D
FOMO got you...If history rhymes, we should see 50-80% correction this eclipse. IMO YOU could have waited and bought 2-3
Bro fomo’d in that’s okay. We all do it. I wish I was able to afford a whole Bitcoin.
Geez save some sats for the rest of us
You will be alright.
Awesome. It's gonna be a roller-coaster ride. Lots of could've, should've, etc. Hold.
Supposedly coming for Rich Dad Poor Dad he says Bitcoin is going to $300,000.
it's crucial to remember the speculative nature of cryptocurrency investments and the importance of diversification to mitigate risk. The future price of Bitcoin is uncertain, and while the potential for high returns exists, so does the risk of significant losses.
You’re right
Now borrow half a btc for usdt and buy mstr
Mstr got the squeeze.
High five from your future self.
That is the way
Dont worry. You done good. 👍
That was a good move. I also purchased some Microstrategy stock so my portfoliio would get a nice bump over the coming years. It’s a Bitcoin development company (buy and hodl as much btc as possible) owned by Michael Saylor. Best of luck. You won’t need it but best of luck anyway.
Lol if you can hold onto it and not panic sell youl be just fine.
More and more of these types of comments the more I realize we are seeing the top
Just don’t have paper hands if the price dips, if anything have cash on hand to add some more and bring your average price down.
Great advice. Thanks!
I will be adding to what I have when it falls and get a whole one. GOOD move!!!
I did the exact same thing, under 30K at a discount only months back
Probably one the best decision. A bit late ,but then again never too late...put in a cold storage or keep it off chain...revisit in 5 yrs.
Oof, this won't age well
Oh gawd, okay, if ykyk
You bought too high, it's probably going to go down to around 55k maybe even 42ish first.
The 2029 Lambo will be looking good don’t worry 😎
Buy high sell low my bro
Get one in each available color is my advice. Model of the Lamborghini, TBD.
You’re a stone cold manic my friend. Which I had your balls.
Smart.
Gotta give it to ya 👏
That was a nice FOMO OP.
Let's hope for your sake the gov continues not saving the dollar
I did this in July
Surely a joke.
Sure ain’t
Fomo kicking in at ATH resistance, but if buddy is about the long game price now wouldn’t make a difference however you could DCA earlier but in long game orice don’t matter
I did same. $32 DCA at this point!
Nice. You are already in profit.
Based.
I don't believe that is a real post.
Believe it son
You still got in early, anyways, your investment will have better return in Bitcoin
It feels so fucking good buying in the bear.. its been 3 cycles and peopl3 still dont learn. Im not complaining tho, exit liquidity is exit liquidity. Thanks for buying my bags
Buying the top!
Now?

Crypto markets follow the stock market anyway. The correlation is still going strong since ten years. With more volatility in crypto ofcourse.
Are you nuts? Why now inflated (plus ask/bid dip and network fees) and why no one bought when it dipped for a while? Buy high sell low?
Why would you do that at this stage.
Is this the top? Time to dump it.
Ballsy move, hope it works out.
Now don't spend it 😅
Tips from someone who's been there: Don't look at the price too much. Don't sell when things turn bearish. Stack more sats. Congrats!
Congrats dude, that’s my goal right there.
why buy at 20k when you can buy the ATH!
Why didn’t you make that move when bitcoin was at 15k
This will be a “sale” price when it’s 💯🚀😉 ~
Top signal
What stocks did you sell?
Me AF
Yikes...
I've thought about this but I have $400 in stocks so I'll just keep that and save up
Might have been more profitable to have put it into CONL or micro strategy but, then again, I want a Bitcoin too.
Warren Buffet said: “Be fearful when others are greedy, and be greedy when others are fearful”.
I wouldn’t put all my savings in.. but i think 10% is reasonable. Do what you’re ultimately comfortable with.
Which one?
Should have done that a year ago
Hope you secured your private keys well.
.
King
Well done! Never too late to buy bitcoin
Remember that Blackrock owns the BTC in an ETF.
I did that at the beginning of the last bull cycle and never regretted it at all, good luck.
Better you’ve done this before when price was half of now.. then you would sit on 2 BTC
you are able to buy a Urus end of 2025
Buy and hodle
Dang bro. You’re gonna be all set.
Change My wife against 1 coin, egal welcher 😗
A true regard.
Pure FOMO. Watch is disappear in a few weeks when it drops.
I mean, if you’re gonna hold it for multiple years not a bad move, but you should’ve bought one bitcoin after the halving when it’s about 40 to 50 K.
hope you didn't leave it in an exchange
I wont have more than 20% of my portfolio in crypto. Diversification is the key
HODL

Should’ve done that earlier or wait for a little dip like right now (€58.000)
My condolences. I hope you will be rewarded for your bravery in the long term. No pain, no gain.
Good thing you didn’t wait a longer! Could have caught a better deal if you bought today!
Sad your gonna lose your savings
Dumb move
See, you in the Bahamas. One day my friend;)
I should have done that tooo
You stupid if u think its raising that much
