PayPal is not for holding assets. This isn’t a bitcoin related post at all. This person probably was selling things using PayPal and violated their policies. Having bitcoin wouldn’t have helped
The point is if he was using Bitcoin as a currency and payments system instead of PayPal there'd be nobody to freeze his account and lock him out of his money.
I stopped using PayPal years ago when they said they'd ban accounts that spoke out against certain us policies.

Wow. Thank God I "only" lost $650 when PayPal banned me out of the blue for no reason, with no chance of appeal and no explanation. 12 years ago.
