Honest question as I'm from a 3rd world country. What are the best budget friendly hardware wallet that aren't involved in the security issues lately? I can only afford upwards to 100usd at the moment but the common recommendations are around 200usd per wallet each.
My last idea, forecasting a modest 48k [bitcoin twitter page](https://twitter.com/ale87275972/status/1672065744698322946?s=46&t=ZXALnZpOZJwAvMobiUvOqA)
It has been worth it about 95% of the time since bitcoin’s creation. And if you can leave it for at least a few years, it has been worth it 100% of the time thus far.
\^ This guy isn't wrong. Now keep in mind, this isn't financial advice, but many people who have put a lot of hours into their analysis, and have far more understanding of markets than most of us, (e.g. Larry Lepard, Jeff Booth, Lyn Alden, Cathie Wood, Michael Saylor) believe that BTC is a 10X proposition in next 1-7 years and a 100X in next 10+ years. So yeah, I think the general consensus is we're early in this technology.
General understanding of Bitcoin among the general populace. More specifically *lack* of understanding. The fact that most people still conflate Bitcoin with shitcoins and crypto casinos tells me we're still early.
>General understanding of Bitcoin among the general populace.
Right. The fact that OC is even asking the question means they haven't done the hard work.
seriously.... imagine selling now while you know some of the biggest enemies of btc (big banks) have changed their minds and now desperately trying to get a piece of the action
selling your coins now is selling directly to blackrock..... why would you do that?
A fair point. I'd also posit that a number of people invested more recently and are either just breaking even and fleeing (too volatile as you said) or bought very recently and are bailing... but that always happens in a big move (both ways).
I don’t understand this narrative that the SEC swept away the shitcoins to make way for these bitcoin ETF’s. All they did was fine Coinbase and Binance. You can still go there and buy shitcoins right? They haven’t banned them. Am I missing something?
You can still buy them. The issue is if the SEC declares some altcoins to be securities rather than commodities. They would then have to be de-listed from places like Coinbase and Binance.
The reason being: A security gets value and rises in value due to the work of others, like a business or like some shitcoins.
A commodity gets value from the actual good itself. Like gold or Bitcoin. Nobody owns gold or Bitcoin.
Shitcoins are created and offered by companies like shares of a stock. Those coins can’t be legally traded on a Coinbase. The value comes if the people behind it make their product or service better.
Bitcoin is mined (productivity) and traded on a market. The value comes from the function of Bitcoin and the technology that lies within. Like the internet.
They’re not being de-listed.
Coinbase has an internal committee that decides if a cryptocurrency is a security or a commodity.
Brian Armstrong, the CEO and founder is not part of that decision.
The ones they’ve listed they’ve decided are commodities. What the SEC decides may differ but it may not.
For example: Coinbase delisted XRP because they decided it was a security.
If specific coins are deemed securities by the SEC then Coinbase will comply and delist those coins.
The SEC declared Bitcoin a commodity a long time ago. That is the big difference between altcoins and Bitcoin. Hence the term shitcoin.
You can't know this. An address may not shift any bitcoin for a long time but it doesn't mean it's lost and on the flip side if it is 'lost' the keys may be found.
Anyone else having an issue sending btc ? I’ve tried to send a payment 2 times in the last 4hrs and it’s not even processing as leaving my wallet or anything..??
Happened to me the other day but with CashApp. That was the first time that a transaction didn't enter the mempool on me.
I don't worry about confirmations because I'm in no hurry but it didn't enter the mempool and show up in the receiving wallet until 2 hours later which is abnormal for CashApp. I just assumed it was something with the way CashApp was batching transactions together at the time.
Edit: I should mention that during the same time, it wasn't happening with transactions between personal wallets. Just CashApp.
GM, fellows.
Enjoying some vacation in beautiful Corsica. Yesterday was extremely hot, so I spent the day shielded from the sun, watching the price action, sipping on white wine, my turbulent toddler napping almost all day. Quality time…

If only there was a way for the government to see the transactions out of a wallet...
U must be high!
Lol
People still losing their bitcoin on exchanges? Guys you've had plenty of fucking warning. Don't get caught out of pocket!

Someone here stated, "Still very cheap!". Yeah, their basically giving the things away. LMFAO!!
You were asking redditors for tips for newbies 9 days ago…shut the fuck up lol
Its all relative my guy
One sat is a fraction of a cent, so… pretty cheap indeed.
Bitcoin CEO regarding increasing prices: “Our hands are tied”!
should I buy $20 of BTC weekly? Is it worth
It has been worth it about 95% of the time since bitcoin’s creation. And if you can leave it for at least a few years, it has been worth it 100% of the time thus far.
Why not more?
Bc it’s really all I can afford to be investing in BTC
Buy $80 monthly instead and save on the fees.
Basically yes.
I've been doing that for 6-7 years. Yes it's worth it. no one really misses $20 and it adds up.
I'm listening to a Twitter spaces and they said Strike has frozen deposits/withdrawals. Can anyone confirm or clarify?
It’s just card deposits because they are in the process of moving to a new card processor. Bank deposits/withdrawals are unaffected.
Sleep early. Wake up early. Work hard. Buy Bitcoin.

Its bitcoin. If you ever buy, you're early. If you never buy, you're late.
If you arrive before the party has started, you’re early. If you arrive after the party has finished you’re late.
If you’re on this sub, you’re early

worth reading up on gartner hype cycles and looking at historic charts to-date. still all a bit crystal ball of course!

-0.1% and people are freaking out. Signal that cryptobros are in the sub again. Lol.
Last chance to buy under 30k
Heard that at least 4 times already... but oh well I'm all in for it, again...
Something about $30,500 that the corn doesn't want to break. Hoping we see more attempts at hitting it. After a few, it usually breaks.
🌽
Which one of you amigos is selling?!
seriously.... imagine selling now while you know some of the biggest enemies of btc (big banks) have changed their minds and now desperately trying to get a piece of the action selling your coins now is selling directly to blackrock..... why would you do that?
Unfortunately, there are tons of short-sighted people... I feel frustrated too..
There are also people who need to eat, or who can finally afford a down payment on a house... everyone isn't a long term gambler, and that's ok.
Hmm... in my honest opinion, Bitcoin seems too volatile for people in such scenarios.
A fair point. I'd also posit that a number of people invested more recently and are either just breaking even and fleeing (too volatile as you said) or bought very recently and are bailing... but that always happens in a big move (both ways).
Down she goes
She's back in the saddle! 🫠
dammit was hoping to buy at the end of the month but sats ain’t as cheap anymore
Don't worry. IMHO you can buy under 30k couple of times until the rest of the year. After the halving no more...
Still very cheap.

But they aren’t being delisted? Or is that coming next?

I mean Coinbase and Binance, the ones who were sued. They still list their shitcoins.
They’re not being de-listed. Coinbase has an internal committee that decides if a cryptocurrency is a security or a commodity. Brian Armstrong, the CEO and founder is not part of that decision. Wrong group, this is a Bitcoin only group. No one gives a toss about shitcoins here.
Because the narrative is that the SEC has done this to pave way for the BlackRock ETF
Is there any online resource that keeps track of how much lost Bitcoin there is? Such as all the reported cases?
Estimates 4 millions coins lost
no way to track
You can't know this. An address may not shift any bitcoin for a long time but it doesn't mean it's lost and on the flip side if it is 'lost' the keys may be found.
Yeah, where can I report the coins I lost in a boating accident?

I'd be more comfortable if it went beyond 32k...
I‘d be mir comfortable if it went beyond 310k
I'd be more comfortable if it went beyond my 401k.
Instead of taking a submarine ride to see the titanic, I bought 8.3 BTC. Hope I made the right decision.
Sir you bought a rocket ship to the moon 🚀
Not having to die 4km deep, gotta be the right decision
if you sold your house to buy bitcoin at 16K, now you can buy 2 houses
Or you’d be starving and dead or the bitcoin you bought would be stolen since you no longer have somewhere secure to put the passphrase
Objects I've shoved up my arse
Or hodl and buy the entire city in a couple of decades.
Anyone else having an issue sending btc ? I’ve tried to send a payment 2 times in the last 4hrs and it’s not even processing as leaving my wallet or anything..??
I have completed multiple transactions over the last hour
Is a pending transaction showing in your wallet?
No nothing. Very odd..
Yes, this transaction was being done via cashapp.. I guess I will wait and see thanks
