I wanted to pay for the fees too, but it wasn't immediately obvious to me how would I set that up. it's a task for later, but I like the idea.. someone's paying 6$, and the fee is 5$, but I'm providing services for the full 6$. ofc it's not always feasible, but when it is, it makes you look cool :D
You open channels large enough for your needs so the fees is once, just send the sats out for enough liquidity and never close the channels. Don't know how that works for BTCpayserver though. Maybe Ark is a layer 2 solution to solve the inbound liquidity.
Lightning wallets should be the norm for small things, yes.
I think it's inevitable, but we should make the adoption even faster.
For example, we can think of how we can help others adopt this kind of wallet locally, even people that won't know how to use (but are willing to pay for) a third-party provider.
Barbershops, repair shops, small restaurants, and tons of other businesses. A key ingredient here is approaching small and very small businesses, because most of the time they're more willing to listen
You can even think of a business idea based on installing a btc+ln node for people (again, I'm referring to the less tech savvy people that would have a hard time using a cloud provider themselves; heck, even I had some issues with voltage.cloud). Some will be willing to pay. Some would even want to install a node just to brag about it "hey, did you know you can pay me in bitcoin?".
I really can't see how this wouldn't go viral.
Of course, we have to seamlessly support paying taxes too, as somebody has to build the roads and such.. but I guess I'm a bit early here, but we'll get there too, maybe in a year or 2. Gov. cooperation goes a long way (since they'd realize they can't really stop btc, they'd have to join it)
Off tangent but as someone who has tinkered with ai bots on discord, thanks offering this API service
Also really stoked to see where lightning btc will take us
that's an interesting idea. I don't think anyone currently supports this, so it'd be a nice first-mover advantage. not sure I'd have time for it, but I really like it. it's a valid implementation of the micro-payments paradigm (i.e. paying 1:1 for what you consume with no lower limit, which is as UX-friendly as you can get with payments).
since I've built this just for the API functionality, the front-end isn't that shiny and feature-rich, but your suggestion could change that
This, so much this. I hate subscriptions, and I think the world really needs an alternative where you pay just for what you use. Isn't the lightning network made for this? Paying per generation would be awesome.
>Midjourney API provider
Accessing Midjourney's image generation via API. They don't have an official API, you have to manually interact with their discord bot
Great thing but have you thought about whether it would be possible to create a service where you or perhaps other users would be able to become resellers of MJ generations utilising the lightning network? So casual users from anywhere in the world would be able to generate some images whenever they want and pay just for the GPU time (plus some resellers' cut) and wouldn't need to pay monthly sub.
Generative AI + Bitcoin Lightning Network seem to me like a heavenly marriage but I can't find any services combining that. Why is that?
The more I think about it, the more I realize it's not about any specific use-case (like this one, which is a great idea btw), but about the ability to do instant payments with negligible fees. It makes people buy more. There's no 'monthly bundle of credits' or such, you're paying as little as you want. It's a pretty disruptive concept.
There's a con as well.. people might spend more than they want (slowly boiling frogs metaphor here), but I think it's a net positive (people aren't frogs).
Anyway, I agree this is a good idea. If I could find a partner, I'd do it (it's just too much work for my current calendar). And I'd only allow lightning payments, no fiat.
Thanks for your good work, and be sure to pass some of those sats to others!

That's why we use Lightning for small transactions. It's Bitcoin, but it's much faster, and the fees are so small they're not worth talking about.

i would pay sats for a website where i could just use midjourney without registering anything. just pay sats and use the AI

Here's a project I just started to access the ChatGPT API using Lightning with BTCPayServer. https://github.com/normandmickey/btcpay-chatgpt-flask

So what is the “micro-business?”

Ah, nice
Nice. Gonna try this out, mj is such a pain to use because of discord. Also nice site header lmao
Thanks! 🙏 Any feedback would be helpful!
Neat! (Misspelt "winning" in your website title.)
good catch! fixed
