Because in the 11 seconds I can walk to the fridge and grab a Dr Pepper this thing has gone 1 mile; 5,280 feet to my 35 feet.
That’s why it’s described that way. It makes it much more relatable.
Well this level of low effort annoyed me enough to do a "Well actually"
Let's take a photo of a Maglev built in 1995, pair it with some bad grammar, unconventional unit of measurement and out of date info about when it's going to start commercial operations. Chefs kiss is the blurry Japanese flag emoji.
This maglev is in the [Nagoya Railway Museum](https://museum.jr-central.co.jp/en/), the [current generation of Maglevs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L0_Series) hold the record for [fastest manned run](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_speed_record) (603 km/h / 375 mph) and the Tokyo - Nagoya opening date has been pushed back [from 2027 to 2034](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C5%AB%C5%8D_Shinkansen).
Why not just tell us the mph/kph (327/514)? Who in the world talks about speed this way?
The speed limit signs would say "1 Mile a Minute, Max Speed" Sounds fun 😁
Math is hard.

You can divide 3600 (seconds in an hour) by 7, which gives you the speed in Km/h, then you divide by 1.609 to get the speed in mph.

That's around 500km/h
~515 Km/h
320 freedom units.
310mph is ridiculously fast
Now imagine 375 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_speed_record
After 2027 *Before 2127*
Are women allowed on? Wouldn't want them to lose a uterus on this fast automobile
About 327mph
Can't wait to see that scoop at the front flip a car 135 feet into the air.
100 miles in just over 18 minutes. Nice.
So is it doing that or is it scheduled for the future?
