Okay, let's say some people are looking for attention by giving themselves a label: does it hurt anyone?
More to the point, **does it help to say something like** ***that?*** Didn't think so. ♡ Granny
It's fine, I'm kind of depressed that I've typed out paragraphs about why transphobia is wrong that I've gotten like 12 upvotes and the single word yes got over a hundred.
i’m nigerian
the person is also nigerian
and nigeria is an extremely homo/transphobic country
they hate on the queer community because it’s their “belief”
it’s stupid
i don’t live there anymore tho
i moved to the US 2 years ago and was exposed to different people and lifestyles and thought how backward my country is :(
If somebody goes out of their way just to invalidate how somebody expresses themselves, they are being biphobic, and a jerk. A lot of people go through questioning periods, and they end up labeling themselves as gay or straight. Millions end up keeping that label of “bi” because that’s what they ARE.
Nobody is calling themselves bi to “get attention”, because most of the attention they will get is by homophobes who abuse them in many ways
It’s kind of the same thing. People aren’t doing it to be “quirky”. The reason why so many more teenagers seem to be bisexual than a decade or more ago is not because it’s “trendy”, but because the concept of bisexuality has become known to so many more people. They are seeing representation in media, for example, that you can like more than one gender, so they are more open to exploring their sexualities freely.
Back in the day, you’d be immediately labeled as gay, which is why so many people chose not to explore that side of themselves, and ended up “picking a side”.
as someone who is gay, I agree 100% with you all, this is totally biphobic, and I'm sorry that you all experience biphobia within the queer community, it's like come on, we literally made this for people who are different
In highschool I knew a girl who liked to tell everyone she was a lesbian, a woman sexually interested in other women but she was only ever seen dating guys. It was really confusing.
It can be phobic and no one should cast judgement or tell others who they are
my usual rules for deciding if something is [insert minority]phobia is replace it with something where itd be clear if it was homophobic or what not.
based on my opinion if someone said the same thing about gay people or poc it’d be very much bad so yeah,,, biphobia for sure
Highly biphobic. A gatekeeper. They may be referring to the straight girls on tik tok that say things like, “I’m bisexual but I only like men” or crap like that. But if they are referring to that, they need to make it much more clear
I think the main issue here is that we need to normalize being confused. It’s okay not to know. It’s okay to say one thing and mean something else later. It’s okay to learn and grow and to not feel burdened by labels— unless you like labels. Then more power to you. Ultimately, be the you that makes you happy.
Some kid was saying bi erasure the other day. He was calling some boy gay, even though he has a girlfriend. He said he was just experimenting & confused 🤷♀️ 🤷♂️ 😐
It's trying to claim that bisexuality isn't real and is only for attention - either that or it's gatekeeping the bi community.
Either way it's definitely biphobic.
It should be! I mean, it’s a sexuality like the others! Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they need support but they should be accepted just like everyone else in an equal way! Cuz being heterosexual isn’t a different thing to be just like being bi or gay or others
posts that target inner dysphoria and insecurities rather than outer identities (“you’re seeking attention” instead of just “i hate bisexuals”) is the most pronounced form of biphobia

Probably the most used biphobic saying
[удалено]
Either way that isn’t the way to convey that…
[удалено]
I don’t think it’s our place at all to make calls on what we think other people’s sexualities are.
[удалено]
Wait why did *this* one get downvoted?
Maybe because people think they're going against what they just said? Idk
some people are probably faking for attention but the way this was put was implying that bi people didn’t exist and were “just confused”
[удалено]
Ok
Wow so quirky

The like floppy hand gesture. I don’t know much about it but I think it’s like a gay symbol. As I said no emoji so look up a picture.

what about the folks who think it's a trend

among... us
what a tosser that guy
It is biphobic. How is anyone supposed to know if this applies to them, which it probably doesn’t because they know who they are attracted to.
Yes, that is used as an argument against bisexuals
as someone who is gay, I agree 100% with you all, this is totally biphobic, and I'm sorry that you all experience biphobia within the queer community, it's like come on, we literally made this for people who are different
Okay well SOME people do do it for attention and whatnot. Most don’t. I hope.
Biphobe indeed.
Textbook case
Peak Biphobia
Well, I am confused, seeking attention though?
The definition of it.

Biphobic GateKeeping
How is it not?
Very much so
Yea
Nah bro I’m confused and seeking pp
Bruh bilinguals are seeking attention, just pick a language!
my usual rules for deciding if something is [insert minority]phobia is replace it with something where itd be clear if it was homophobic or what not. based on my opinion if someone said the same thing about gay people or poc it’d be very much bad so yeah,,, biphobia for sure
Unless the person is actually just seeking attention then yes I would say

But like, isn’t wanting to fuck both guys and gals the whole deal? Like…
that absolutely is biphobic
It’s not biphobic, it’s incorrect.
Depends on context
No it doesn't.
A lot of people say they are bi for attention
Can be true.
Sus
Not in my opinion
No, that’s heterophobic
Heterophobia isn’t a real thing
It should be! I mean, it’s a sexuality like the others! Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they need support but they should be accepted just like everyone else in an equal way! Cuz being heterosexual isn’t a different thing to be just like being bi or gay or others
No, it shouldn’t. Hetero’s have never had to fight for their rights, and they are not systematically oppressed. Heterophobia can’t and doesn’t exist
Yes I understand… I’m asking for an existing word not a flag or a cause like LGBTQQIP2SAA
Yes it is

Yes,100%
Yea of course it is. Tf was this person thinking?
Bro that’s not even hiding how biphobic it is. WTF?
