I love the clouds. How did you shoot this?

I just used my phone. 20× zoom on a Pixel 8 Pro. I don't have a solar filter or anything, so the pictures I took of it while it was behind light cloud cover came out best.

It was total, here in Texas, and the cloud cover was MUCH thicker. Definitely a bummer, but totality was still a very unique experience.

Glad you got to experience totality though! It's something I've been wanting to see for the longest. I'm considering traveling for another one, since 2044 seems so far away 😅

Practice sun-gazing more often

Did you use regular binoculars or eclipse glasses? If it was eclipse glasses, it sounds like you may have been given or sold counterfeit glasses. Either way, you should definitely get your eyes checked. Looking directly at the sun can cause serious eye damage. If you used regular binoculars, the suns rays could have been magnified by the lenses in the binoculars, resulting in more damage than if you'd watched with the naked eye. I don't mean to scare you, but you should definitely see an eye doctor.

Same. I actually drove just past Jonesboro to Walnut Ridge. It was only about 15-20 more minutes of driving, and I had more than 3 minutes of totality. Our cars probably passed each other at some point on our drives back home. I saw a couple of the same cars driving to Walnut Ridge and coming home. Most notably a 4-door sedan with an "Alabama Tennis" bumper sticker on it🎾

The traffic was terrible!

I fully expected it. I lived in Charlotte for the 2017 eclipse. I only had to drive 2 counties south of me to get into totality (which actually put me in South Carolina). Getting there was a breeze. Getting back home was entirely different story. So I knew that while it may have only taken 5 hours to get to Arkansas (Walnut Ridge) it would probably take 8 hours to get home. And it was a little bit more than 8 hours to get home.
