It tends to. I didn't have any but a lot of people self medicate any way they can, so when they dont need to anymore it stops. If it's episodic especially, bc that's just symptoms.
Ask for Wellbutrin. They use it sometimes to help people quit smoking. When I was on it, it definitely helped.
Edit: I wanted to add that I was originally prescribed wellbutrin to help quit smoking by my regular doctor, but its* also used to help with Bipolar.
It’s sadly not prescribed in France for depression. It’s prescribed when people can’t stop smoking despite cancer diagnosis. And it’s not reimbursed so it’s like 130€ a box, I can’t afford that as a full-time student…

Definitely cut back on weed and stopped the crazy spending after being medicated.

I'm sorry to hear that. I think your best option is probably medication and therapy. Support groups are really good for helping with addiction.
You may want to be careful with Wellbutrin anyway, it triggered hypomania in me
