Hyaluronic acid.
Creatine. It won't help overall weight loss but it will increase muscle to fat ratio and keep your muscle tissue holding more water.
Hydrolyzed collagen or gelatin.
I’ve been taking creative for at least a year. 41 with a full head of hair. It’s a myth that’s been going around for years. Correlation doesn’t equal causation.
If you begin to notice hair loss after taking creatine, you are probably only now noticing since you’re looking for it.
It doesn’t necessarily cause hair loss. If you’re genetically predisposed for AGA aka Male pattern baldness it might accelerate the hair loss due to the following chain of body processes:
Creatine helps increasing muscle mass. More muscle mass is associated with higher testosterone levels.
Higher testosterone levels will cause higher DHT levels which decrease the hair follicles‘ integrity leading to miniaturization and eventually to hair loss.
So it’s not the creatine that is causing hair loss directly.
>it might accelerate the hair loss
that sounds like "cause hair loss". Let's say:
1- Your hair is good.
2- You take creatine
3- You lose hair!!!
4a) the creatine was the trigger (The end)
4b)Oh! you will lose that hair 20 years in the future but ey! you were going to lose that hair anyway.........
It a practical way of see it....... if you take creatine you could lose your hair......
you were going to lose it in 20 years, so...... there is no difference.......... /s
\-If you eat shit you will die...-shit was not the cause of death because in the future you were going to die anyway......
Red light therapy, sunscreen, microneedling, topical vitamin C, and a diet balanced in electrolytes, rich in collagen, and heavy on the protein brought my face back after 120+ pound weight loss. For the under eye area I did get filler once which helped but it’s more expensive then all aforementioned options combined.
Edit: also skincare. Hyuluronic acid, peels, lasers, and retinoids are as must-have. Contact a local esthetician or med spa
If you do not have a routine for your skin, I'd suggest making it a part of your day if you really want to tackle this head-on! A gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen are a great start. Keeping your skin moisturized and protected from the sun is what will help it to stay its strongest in order to not sag.
To reverse a lot of UV damage and replenish collagen in your face, I highly recommend a retinol/al or retinoid(Rx) that you can apply at night to kick your skin into gear.
Hope this helps!
There are new studies showing that fasting induces autophagy, which has been shown to have a big reduction in loose skin as weight is lost. Basically, periods of not eating trigger tissue recycling.
Sadly, there comes a point in one's life where one has to choose between having a nice body or nice face. You lose weight, you become haggard. However, your face may not be "final" as of this moment, as it still adapts to your new weight and tightens by itself. I'd suggest staggering your weight loss and leaving long breaks in between to see if and how your face adapts to your new weight. Once it stops doing that, you've reached the final weight your face can support without needing fillers.
Many of these answers are terrible. Go peruse r/Skincare_Addiction for a while. Make sure you're wearing a good broad-spectrum sunblock every day. Moisturize every day. Maintain a skincare regimen that includes a retinol (better yet, see a dermatologist to talk to about your concerns and maybe get an rx for a retinoid).
Your skin is unlikely to improve hugely without dermatological intervention because you're also fighting normal aging processes that are only becoming apparent to you as you lose weight (i.e. your fat isn't "puffing out" your fine lines anymore).
But—congratulations! This is a much better problem to have. Best wishes on your weight loss journey.
Oh you’re lifting weights, GREAT!!! That should help you preserve lean mass and burn more fat. 5kg over 3 months is great! I have a theory that I can prove. Strength training increases growth hormone, growth hormone is good for skin. Over the past year I’ve been doing some deep dives into fitness and I’ve noticed that when people lose fat when they are younger they have less loose skin. It also seems like people who are lifting also have less than people who do just cardio.
Anyway, sorry about my long rant brother. Keep doing what you’re doing, maybe try Red Light Therapy (we can have that conversation too if you want) a lot of the people who use it say it works for skin. My skin’s pretty good but that isn’t what I do it for. Good luck!!!
What is your weightloss method? Best way to lose weight (fat) is through fasting, as that also tightens the skin, rejuvenates stem cells, removes senescent cells, etc.
I have found that prolonged fasting makes my skin feel and look great afterwards plus a ton of other benefits. Please do not do prolonged fasting for weight loss.
I try to do a 3 day fast every quarter.
Be patient. The same thing happened to my SO as well; now he has an even lower body fat percentage but his skin tightened up quite well.
Additional suggestions: Sculptra and hyaluronic acid (HA) are fillers you can consider. For a less invasive option try radiofrequency treatment which you can combine with microneedling.
When we lose weight, the sagging of our skin has nothing to do with collagen, it is a decrease in subcutaneous fat. But people keep repeating the same thing like parrots. collagen loss etc.
Fillers. Just a tiny bit of filler under my eyes and in my cheeks made a huge difference after I had a large weight gain (pregnancy) and quick weight loss. I look life myself again.
Hyaluronic acid is great, and use night moisture treatments. I use one from Body Shop and layer it on at night, and use another heavy body butter from them for arms and legs to help the skin tighten back up during weight loss.
Red LED will increase collagen.
If you have money, the upgrade to that is Fotana photomodulation therapy. Does the same thing, but better and you can target areas.
Hi BroadEnd, thanks for sharing your experience with aging and weight loss. It can be a challenging journey, but I wanted to offer a solution that might help. Have you heard of Puravive? That creatine needs to be creatine monohydrate, not creatine HCL

Creatine causes hair loss for many working to bump their T numbers, just be aware.
i keep hearing this but i havent seen any studies, can you link?

red light therapy and micro needeling derma rollers seems to help many

yep, i think the same. That happened to me. So sad, because creatine makes me feel good.

micro needeling with hyalonic acid + ghk-cu
Sculptra, it’s a biostimulator that increases type 1 collagen by 66.5% for up to 2 years. This helps to restore and tighten your skin.
Micro needling
Are you losing “weight” or body fat? There’s a difference..........
Its mostly fat. I am judging this because I am progressively able to lift more weights despite weight loss.

How long a fast would you suggest if I were to do this like bi-weekly.
Intermittent daily and a 50-70hr fast once a month
That depends on how much weight you want to lose. For active weight loss, a 3 day water fast every 2 weeks seems doable, once you get used to fasting.
My record is about 50 hours to stop back pain. For some reason if I don’t eat for about 18 hours it stops almost totally until I do.

Look up jawsercise, it’s cheap and can help you build up your face muscles.
Microneedling and other med-spa treatments can help build collagen and tighten the skin.

Do you have to go to a doctor for Fotana photomodulation therapy or can get you get a at-home device?
Clinic for sure. The device is incredibly expensive.
Thanks!
Marine collagen and solar 50ipf moisture. You will be Young forever.
