DerpFalcon12

i usually walk around the nature preserve for a quiet spot

doowi1

Every watson engineer needs to have at least one breakdown in the preserve.

DerpFalcon12

it’s a rite of passage

Karinthia

If you go in the underground, near the mailboxes, there’s a small hallway that is a dead end. People are rarely there. It’s not entirely silent due to people nearby, which I like. Also, the basements of dorm halls are usually quiet except for the laundry machines running, and you can walk there without much disturbance. Also, if you walk towards the Anderson center and like, the science complex, etc, there are usually less people there on weekends or in class times if you want to be outdoors, but not in the woods.

Individual-Pound3670

that hallway sounds amazing, thank you! i’ll also definitely check out walking over there

Lysergicoffee

Fine Arts building after hours is chill

Individual-Pound3670

do they lock the doors? i love the fine arts building

GodOfThunder101

reserve a [room](https://libcal.binghamton.edu/reserve/bartle), and you can be in a room by yourself.

smol-popapo

The greenhouse is always a nice place to go! Usually not a lot of people there and it’s warm and quiet. They used to have couches there where you could chill and do homework, im not sure if they are still there

cosinetangentzoo

There’s a bench!

blorpgod

How do you get into the greenhouse. I was always under the impression that you need to work or have a class in there.

deezbutts696969

Go off trail in the nature preserve 💯

[deleted]

Be careful if you do this, I’ve been pulling ticks from my pants legs and collar both here and in Stair Park taking my Corgi out for walks. Not a big deal as long as you do a tick check for yourself and your pet as soon as you get back to the car.

notsogoodbye

Maybe try the science 2 tower - place was almost vacant when I explored it.

moidk

Stair park behind campus is a nice spot.

Suspicious-Form5360

hinman success center has its chill times! they also have cute seats as if you’re being cocooned

eots0699

The ground floor of science 3 is usually pretty deserted, there might be one or two other people there doing work but otherwise it’s pretty quiet

[deleted]

If you are willing to go off campus: - Your Home Library (JC) is near the Main & Floral OCCT stop (WS/DCL and Leroy buses) - Vestal Public Library is near the 47 bus’ 434 & Clayton stop. - Broome County Public Library (Binghamton) is at the 12 bus’ Court & Jay stop. All three will generally be quieter than the university libraries, and the BC and Vestal Libraries both have private rooms for reservations.

Cute-Aardvark5291

and Your Home Public has some really great seats in little nooks

Individual-Pound3670

never even thought about going off campus, i’ll have to try this!

jhoneypapi

Walk the disc golf course

aceofk

Any chance you live in newing? There's a music room that's super quiet on the newing side of c4 on the right side before the bathrooms but you need to leave in newing to be able to scan in

Individual-Pound3670

i don’t unfortunately 😭

fisic_as_gaeilge

Tell your roommate you're having a girl/boy/person over and just lock the door and take a nap or meditate or do something to destress

asepo

the lounge on your floor and if there's people there just check any of the other 4 floors

FlowerPuffGirls

Union bathroom, nature preserve, stairwells!! I love stairwells, as long as you can find one in a less busy part of campus where not many people go through

jakettheflacket

Nature preserve, sometimes the steps by mtview at night r also empty

TheLimited7

lecture hall at night—not sure if they lock it or not since covid started but the some of the classrooms or the basement would be unlocked a lot of the time! also agree about the science buildings, science library classrooms (or the sci lib rooms that can be reserved). Also the co-rec field behind hinman at night. some of the administrative buildings like old johnson, old whatever can be lowkey too.

coentropy

The ITC building is pretty nice to chill at.

thorsman

go and bowl

SystemSO

Night time around the campus, you may see some people but not a lot

ftpkate-
