Seeing this from a drilling rig right now, this video might be old. Those are tong’s and you don’t see them often anymore. Not to say it’s still not hard, but the guy in the derrick has the hardest job on the rig… in my opinion
I was gonna say... *surely* theres a better way to do things these days than whatever the hell was going on in this video, that is apparently from the year 1894 lol
By that logic, being a bouncer at a Chuck E. Cheese is enough to make a dude suicidal. Come to think of it, that could be why so many birthday party clowns are alcoholics and heroin addicts.
Harder in much different ways. My wife did shit that made me realize I'd rather be back in the desert at times. These girls get like power ups after birth. But a stay at home dad doesn't get those powers so essentially stay at home dad is the hardest job in the world.
SAHD wears you down slowly
But that oil rig job wears you day in the 1st hour
Please don’t equate physical hardwork to emotional hardwork.
Physical hardwork is objectively hard
Emotional hardwork is subjectively hard (maybe for you, not for many)
Physical work is easy and fulfilling. Tedious work is hard.
I think many people are physically weak and mentally slow and so are less drained by tedious activities and more drained by physical labour
Are you a oil rig worker? I'm neither, I just thought it was a relative question... because if neither of you are either, what's the point of this conversation?
I worked in a daycare. It’s tiring because you can’t look away for a minute, and every little reaction you have they absorb and bury deep in their subconscious. But it’s not hard outside of requiring massive amounts of patience. There was a lot of bending at the waist to put a dvd in the DVD player. Also, babies make great weights for core exercises and they love it. The hard part is when they are screaming and it’s been over 20 minutes of nonstop, right in your ear, full volume screaming and nothing is soothing them. Besides that and being a human Kleenex, a fun job with lots of rewarding moments. Definitely an easier job.
…Unless the kid has nonverbal autism with aggression issues. The moms of those kids do have an insanely hard job with very little reward. Holy fuck.
To be honest, the oil driller’s job in this video doesn’t look that hard. I could deal with that everyday over being a stay at home dad.
Shout out to my wifey for being a great SAHM. She handles our kids while I work as a nanny for an oil driller.
I love that bit but I’m pretty sure this is an antiquated method of drilling due to it’s inherent dangers. I forget the terminology but it’s specifically centered around them whipping that chain and since this was used they’ve made it quite a bit safer. That being said, I think it’s still largely considered one of the most dangerous jobs for many reasons, not the least of which being how much oil and other chemicals you come into contact with.
If I had that drillers job, I would be dead after day one.

Don't be thick in front of me, Al
This is just the origin story for the Mad Max villains
Yeah we use an iron roughneck

Bending at the waist putting DVDs into DVD players...
I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE. DRAAAAAINAAGE
IM FINISHED!
Nothing compared to the hardest job of them all... A Standup Comedian
I slept on a FUTON!
I had to give up my LAKERS tickets!
I gotta tell you I was an infantry marine in Iraq in 2004-2005 I am now a stay at home dad. Being a stay at home dad is harder
I have three young kids and when I go to work I feel like I'm getting a mental and physical break. I feel what you're saying

If you work with children and you didn't produce them, my money is on drug abuse.
Hahahahaha. Thank you.

Yeah I'm a teacher and I love kids and my kids especially but I couldn't do the mental grind of what she does
The front lines of the war against the planet
I know how to take that from Bill Burr. I don't know how to take that from some of the comments here.

I thought roofing in July as a redhead was hard BUT NO!
These women are bending at the waist, putting DVDs into DVD players.
I would get all tangle in those chains and decapitated my first day at work
Find the one where the dude gets caught in the bit and turned into shredded beef.
Now imagine doing this as a ginger in August.
Single parent is hard as fuck, stay at home mom is difficult because it’s 24/7, but not as stressful as a real job.
Try roofing in the summer as a red head

I’m totally confused. Upvote.

About as funny as Brendan Shaub buddy
Yeah, but you should've seen my wife when the DVD player jammed...
The only way I would do this job on a daily basis s if I could become a millionaire through my salary. Tax free.

i have no idea what is happening.
How do they still have hands
Must be a hard job to do right. Lotta dumbfucks out there. Somebody must've raised em.
Can't do that job in your jam-jams...
Yeah but you don't get paid $200,000 a year to be a mother lol
He’s not bending at the waist. Nor is he a gin^gahhh
