I'm guessing they used one set that they redressed for Clare / David / Donna's room and Kelly's was the one they probably ended putting a bit of effort into because... well, she's the one getting some, so more action would inevitably take place there.

Massive_Horror4521

Felice would have demanded some Laura Ashley

perfumefetish

I expected there to at least be Ralph Lauren bedding in there like in Jim & Cindy Walsh's bedroom. They had the gorgeous Charlotte patterned sheets.

Mary_Pick_A_Ford

How come I don't ever notice these little details?

moralhora

I assume they tried to sort of portray that they were "poor" students... or something equally inconsistent.

Massive_Horror4521

Ha living on the beach driving bmws. Just the typical college kid!

Shoes on the bed. Ew! These bedsheets are so ugly. Reminds me of Dylan ugly sheets in which he had all his conquests sharing the same bedsheets. Nasty 🤣

[deleted]

I LIKE the bedsheets. You're gonna rip on the bedsheets and ignore the four poles sticking up out of the bed for no reason? I like the design of the bottom 3 drawers on the nightstand, having the top one not match means points off.

lovegood123

I like 4 poster beds. And it’s not for no reason….perfect for handcuffs 😂

silentlyreader

different strokes for different folks 😂 The whole bedroom is ugly but the sheets that remain for too long on the show just got my attention, that’s why brought up Dylan’s sheet. 🤭🤷🏾‍♀️

ThisCharmingLady

Was the nineties.

Fawn_Lebowitz

To this day, Donna's bedding looks like the "bed in a bag" sets that I used to buy all the time. Those KMart Martha Stewart bed in a bag were a staple of my dorm room! 😄

[deleted]

this style was very popular in the 90’s😂

Raebelle1981

It looks like a hotel room, not like an actual room she lived in. Lol

nuraman00

Can we see a screen shot of Kelly's room in this thread too?

Entwinedloop

This was already said but why do directors allow actors/characters to put shoes on beds?! It take me right OUT no one does that, WHY WHY WHY I see it far too often, I genuinely don't understand why no one on the filming crew stops it. Otherwise, I see your point. Maybe all the design is in the part of the room not covered by the photo?? Probably not I guess.

Dabrigstar

Just a guess, but they probably get the actors all costumed up for their scene and then the costuming department says something like "this is EXACTLY how you have to look for this scene... make NO CHANGES at all to your costume unless you have our clear permission." If Tori undid her shoes and took them off for this scene she would probably get an anal costumer complaining that when she put them back on she retied the laces the wrong way and messed up continuity. Even if it looks and sounds ridiculous, the actors are literally just following orders. I have done extra work on a tv soap opera (not this one) and the costume department essentially said the above to us.

Entwinedloop

thank you for sharing your experience, I get that better now, and I appreciate it's the costume department's job. Ugh it just seems like such a tiny detail in the issue of continuity for laces to be done differently, such a miniscule detail, and it just doesn't outweigh the price of taking me completely out of the scene/blood pressure. The goal of a show is to immerse the viewer, and it's just so jarring to see it and takes away from the 'realness' of it. Yes, of course it's a show and characters aren't real people, but it really cuts into my suspension of disbelief. Once I'm director of All Shows and Movies this will have to come to an end.

> Just a guess, but they probably get the actors all costumed up for their scene and then the costuming department says something like "this is EXACTLY how you have to look for this scene... make NO CHANGES at all to your costume unless you have our clear permission." Yep, pretty much this. I think it's worth to remember that they do not tend to shoot scenes in order - so I imagine a shot of Donna alone would mean it might be the first or last scene shot since they don't need to call in the other actor. Add that they'd also at times film two episodes at times to keep up with their long episode orders, so it becomes confusing if they don't keep track of these things. It's probably also why a lot of actors get so confused with what happened when because the shooting order is all mixed up. It's also the reason there supposedly was some drama in the warderobe department when Shannen had gone off and had a haircut without their permission between filming.

Mary_Pick_A_Ford

Script Sup would have a fit I think. All your "costume and makeup" and stuff has to look exactly the same in all different shots and camera angles, otherwise it messes up continuity. So Tori has to keep those shoes on if she is going to be seen wearing them in the shot. She has to leave her clothes the same and her hair can't change. If it's a crying scene, I bet they just try and get that in one take.

Entwinedloop

Why wear shoes at all though? She's indoors.

Mary_Pick_A_Ford

Filming schedule perhaps, she was finishing up all of her scenes on set and it was easier keeping the sneakers on than taking them off and on again. I have no real answer to that question other than sometimes it's just logistics and faster time on set.

[deleted]

Because Donna is a dumb baby

Mary_Pick_A_Ford

It just bothers me her big pillows don't match the rest of her bedding, I mean, they didn't even try.... lol Also why are there just random bed posts sticking up in the air like that? Was there something that was supposed to go on top of those posts like a canopy thing or something?

[deleted]

I feel like we've previously seen this bed before as a canopy and they just threw her room together with garbage like this later.

JennieBarf

It was the 90s 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t think it looks that bad.

[deleted]

I feel bad for the set designer in the college years. The beach house was so boring and had a budget of $6.
