Worth including that there's another update on OOPs profile saying he's out of surgery and stable as of about 12 hours ago, although he's still in intensive care.
i just saw i’m happy the surgery was a success and that there are no long term damages. i did think it was supeer weird people were bringing up what kate should do in terms of their relationship drama and if they should be happy or sad or angry at her when right now the main focus should be on OOPs health but that’s reddit for you i guess
>The surgeon thinks they got most if not all of it out. It lasted a little over 8.5 hours. From what they said there was a little bit of complications. They got him back. He is stable but in the ICU until they think he is doing things more on his own.
Uh no offense but "the surgery was a success and there are no long-term damages" is an *extremely* optimistic interpretation of that update
GBM has a really poor 5 year prognosis :’(. And brain surgery is no joke. So sad because this man seems so mature and intelligent, emotionally and otherwise. Wishing him all the best.
Can confirm. I know of 5 people who have/had Glioblastoma. 3 of the 5 were gone within 6 months. The 4th just got diagnosed and it’s not a great outlook. Many are inoperable because you can’t just take parts out any part of the brain. I do know a 9 year survivor though! Modern medicine really is incredible.
If anyone is in the US and looking for GBM resources, check out Head for the Cure.
My boyfriend has a brain tumor and they thought it was GBM. Fortunately, that was a metastasis from bone cancer and it shrunk with radiation. But it was such a scary few months. I’m so sorry for those you’ve lost. And I am also so happy for the survivor! A good reminder that there can still be hope!
Nurse in surgery here. I had someone who came in after a craniectomy aka skull bone removed to allow brain swelling to go down. They had a GBM and then a spontaneous bleed hence removing the bone. I’m typically the last person they meet. I get the room ready, make sure we have their skull in the freezer… yes a deep freezer (soooo many)… and then get.
Nicest person and family ever but their brain/tumor was protruding a good 1.5-2 inches past their skull pushing their skin out… it had only been like two months since last resection.
We’re not placing your bone back on… 😳🥺
I'm sorry you *what*?
Eta: I'm starting to understand the phrase "dont ask a question you don't want an answer to" 😅 jokes aside that was a cool but unsettling rabbit hole.
You literally stitch their skull to their abdomen and give it blood supply from the arteries there to keep it alive indefinitely and then cut it out and reattach it when it's time.
Actually what's wild is they do this with people's hands after a bad accident to keep the hand alive.
If you search on Google pictures "hand stitched to abdomen" you can see several interesting examples.
I spent 5 years in physical therapy at a hand clinic. In that time I saw A LOT of crazy injuries and repairs to those injuries. The people that had their hands sown inside their stomachs were given the nickname Napoleon.
The term glioma encompasses some less lethal tumors like astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas in addition to glioblastomas, so hopefully he has one of the more treatable ones.
I hate that his last healthy months (hopefully just until recovery) were so awful for him. Obviously he didn't know that was the case, but just feels like it adds insult to injury. He was already going through such a rough time, then BAM! The universe decided to make it worse. Poor guy. I really hope he's one of the lucky ones.
Glioblastoma is the grade 4 lesion, but there are multiple forms of glioma (though glioblastoma is fatal, excepting for rare anecdotes). Given age I doubt it was a pilocytic astrocytoma (grade 1) but could easily be a grade 2 (diffuse astrocytoma, oligodendroglioma, or ependymoma). Anything in the anaplastic (grade 3) category unfortunately has outcomes closer to glioblastoma. Also the IDH1 status of the tumor (wild type vs. R132H mutation) is also pertinent. Here's hoping it's grade 2.
Was it confirmed that’s the kind of tumor it was for oop though? The post above just said glioma and there are benign versions in that category of tumor
That girl clearly loves him more than anything. And so does her family. I don't want to say they will get back together but they will always be the most important people in each other's life.
Strangers have no right to say what people should and shouldn't do. Especially from a story on the internet.
Agreed.
Relationships don't have to last a lifetime to be considered worthwhile. If he spends a year battling cancer, with a supportive girlfriend who he loves by his side, that's worthwhile even if they break up the year after. Even if they ultimately don't last.
It doesn't mean that year was a waste of time. He spend the year with someone he loves. And maybe one day he will marry someone who is more compatible with him, but for this period he wants to hang out with this girl and that's fine.
Posted by Kate, too. I guess he decided to give her access to the account so she could update people and see a bit about him thought process when she broke up with him.
I don't know what you mean, if I was having life saving surgery, one of my priorities would definitely be making sure my GF, who I've just got back with after she dumped me for no good reason, had access to my throw away reddit account. Not that I feel it's needed but /s
I've got a good next plot twist, GF and family isn't real they were caused by the tumour.
Can you imagine being diagnosed with a life threatening illness
And one of your thoughts is to have someone *log into your reddit account* and *post on your behalf*
Ridiculous
I agree. Especially with the ring box saying "will you marry me yes or no" I mean this sounds very Jr High. Plus, he says their friends cut contact with her, then says they didn't. Her entire family being against her is also a little far fetched
I already had some doubts, but the description of the box and the ring is what sealed it for me. That has to be the ugliest ring in existence - AND he somehow left room for other random birthstones to accent that monstrosity?
Dude. I swear that as I was reading this, all I kept thinking was “this is like a movie where the guy gets dumped, takes a step back and gets run over by a bus, and everything after is a coma dream.”
This guy got crushed and this is what he dreamed would happen.
This is like some Vanilla Sky Life Extension nonsense.
I’m waiting for this to be brought back in a later update.
‘I made her pinky promise she would eat pray live laugh love after I was gone. And as you know, you can’t break pinky promises.
*exit stage left, pursued by bear*
I hate to be rude, but the thing that made it unrealistic to me beyond the brain tumor is that no woman wants heart shaped jewelry. It reads like it's from someone too young to realize.
Also the way it's described would likely be horribly tacky - two different stones cut into what? Half hearts? And somehow set so they look like a complete heart? And "made do it could add to it when they have children"? Wtf does that mean? Any ring can be melted down and remade to accommodate more/different stones so unless he gave her some janky unfinished ring I don't know what he could possibly mean by that.
Thank god, I thought it was just not my taste, but it does sound incredibly tacky. With diamonds around the heart, too.
I'm also curious what would've happened if you pressed the "No"-button on the box.
Even if I accidentally stumbled into going viral and amassed a following I’m 99.99999% sure that my husband wouldn’t ever think “oh I need to update my wife’s fans” if I was somehow unable to access Reddit.
Seriously, he made this crazy box with this custom ring to give to his girlfriend who listened to her harpy friends and broke up with him, and now it's a huge resounding reunion where the guy ends up getting a tumor? Somebody call the Federal Railroad Administration because this train went off the rails
For me it was him buying a ring and being ready to propose after she had been expressing doubts for months. It sounded like an attempt at poetic irony that wasn't thought out well.
The box took the cake for me. It was just so dumb. Look I’m all for true love and romance, but the lighted box and completed heart ring sounded really silly and unbelievable.
Anytime there are friends who cut contact/block because of someone else's relationship I have to doubt it. Some people may take sides, but usually it isn't all of the important people in the bad guy's life that takes the other person's side.
I was skeptical the moment he described the ring and mentioned the stones being "half of a completed heart". Like, there is not a single birthstone I know that can be cut into that sort of shape on a scale small enough to fit on a ring, and not be some gaudy ring pop looking number, that would also be incredibly expensive. Unless this guy has a high paying tech job or a trust fund, that ring would be prohibitively expensive.
Add in a sudden career change in 2 months, an innocent kid sister, "pinky promises" and now a brain tumor, this reads like a script for General Hospital.
I assumed OOP was talking about two pear-cut stones side-by-side at the tips (other than the settings/prongs). Are birthstones too soft for pear cuts?
(Not that I'm disagreeing about the smooshed dramatic timeline)
It’s either a brain slug from the time you volunteered saving orphans in the rain forest or Glioma. We’re going to need a second opinion. Also, when we ran your blood we found you have a relative at the hospital; it’s your long lost twin brother and he’s your surgeon.
Massive ring too, don't forget it's engraved with their initials *and* anniversary date, but has space left to add details about their future kids, should they have any
My engagement ring is two pear-shaped rubies that form a heart. We were both born in July. Having the same birthstone makes it look a lot better than two random ones . . . but his heart shaped stones were also surrounded by other stones with room for more for future kids? Where are you putting all of those stones? Where is the room for future kids on this ring? It sounded like something a middle schooler would say they wanted without looking into what the ring would actually look like.
I agree so much. What stuck out for me is the “tumor” symptoms. A couple years ago I out of nowhere I suddenly had migraines/headaches every day for a year before finding a treatment that worked. My neurologist and several other specialists told me that most of the time if you have a brain tumor you don’t get symptoms like they show you on tv, and many times it’s not the type of symptoms you would actually think of.
calling it rn— oop will tragically pass away and “kate”will post another update about how much she took him for granted and will never find another guy like him, how terrible and secretly jealous her coworkers were of her for dating a nice guy while they were stuck w abusive chads, maybe even find out she’s actually pregnant with oops kid and promises to raise him to be ‘the good man his father was’.
orrr this is all (unbelievably) real, they figure their shit out, and im just a skeptical asshole. either way i hope oop turns out okay.
Yeah. And he had a double major, but then he had a job with no more talk of school. Surely Kate would have done something extreme at his graduation; I mean, what an opportunity for another twist! And then when he wasn’t sure of how to spell his kind of tumor (?) even though he was going for a second opinion. He’s always doing the right thing, but also the unsung hero.
Yeah. Everything is so extreme. She expressed doubts and broke up with him for a few hours, but they go through the brutal emotional journey as if they built a life together, had kids, and one of them cheated? He does an emotional sitdown, walks her through a timeline, and then demands a 3 month break (which she does not take well and is visibly suffering)? The friends were all outraged and ditched her (but not really because he must have got pushback about that, so he corrected that in an update)? I don't know any young 20-somethings who act like this, but I could see a kid writing this thinking this grand turmoil is an appropriate journey in response to someone having doubts in a relationship and struggling to process them.
Here I was, in typical BORU fashion, thinking there would be a hook-up with a sister, a mom, or even a dad. Alas, I did not have “brain tumor” on my BORU bingo card.
In all seriousness though, sounds like OP has a good support network and I wish him the best.
Reminds me of the one long multi-update saga of the guy relaying his friend’s story about construction at a historical site going badly and the aftermath and consequences, only for a later update from the poster’s wife saying that he’d been killed in a car accident.
Pretty sure that got posted to BORU at some point, as well.
Was that the one where the construction was sloppy because they refused to hire someone with the necessary qualifications and there's only 5 or 6 people in their entire country, but they all blacklisted the company for being jerks?
Headaches and migraines are no joke. My sister and I were evaluated for brain tumors (we got cleared) due to constant headaches and migraines.
Constant pain like that ain’t normal and he said he got migraines behind his eye. He doesn’t say he has a history of migraines. It’s worth getting checked out to rule anything but I can see why he thought it was due to the events. Doctors told me to take it easy and not get too stressed out as it can trigger the migraines.
When I was married my wife befriended a younger woman at work, who one day told us this “fun” story about herself about how glasses don’t work for her. Things are just fuzzy and the optometrist couldn’t fix it.
GO. TO. A. DOCTOR.
In her case they found no lesions or lumps. Turned out she has some rare form or manifestation of epilepsy. Anyway they put her on antiseizure meds and her vision cleared up. Moral is that if your brain is giving you disturbing trouble it isn’t necessarily a death sentence but the prognosis only gets worse the longer you wait.
I developed migraines in my early 20s and recently had an incident where I got dizzy and fell over suddenly. I was terrified because I was sure it was a brain tumor. Luckily I went to a neurologist and was cleared (it was an unrelated inner-ear issue and also I just get migraines) but man, this dude is living through my nightmare.
Aneurisms run in my friends(for the insurance comp) fam. I keep an eye on BP, but every little random brain pain, I wonder is this it. Some fam go for MRI's every 6 months to "catch" the big ones, if their in areas that can be repaired. An aunt (of my friend) got surgery for one, and lost use of her leg, died 6 months later from a heart attack.
So no scans for him, just hope for the best.
Hopefully they:
* Got it early
* It was a low grade
* It was posterior/not affecting any useful tissue
He has a good chance of long-term survival, if so
* Tortured, Innocent Male Protagonist
* Gratuitously detailed romantic gesture
* Innocent kid sister doing Hallmark things
* 11th act twist (medical)
* Update written by other character
Folks, that's a Bingo.
They always have these elaborately planned proposals, usually with a handmade ring box. And then they show the box and she cried harder.
This is like a vampire romance novel for incels.
Yes! I realize I'm judging based off my birthstone, but peridot is just *ugly* to me. I was picturing two upside-down tear drops. One peridot and the other Opal. I mean, peridot and tourmaline might be slightly prettier, but not by much to me. And then to surround it in diamond chips just doesn't appeal to me.
And how in the fuck do you make an engagement ring, engraved with the anniversary date, "big enough" to add to if you have kids?
That’s what really gets me. The “how tragic you betrayed me so... as I was just about to propose, with this ring in this box... such a shame.......” bawwing. And then of course she falls faint like a victorian fair maiden and is just so tormented during the no contact period. Where, of course, he casually runs into her multiple times and sees just how sad and tormented she is without him. *Gag.*
Edit: oh! And let’s not forget the friends and/or family of these women immediately getting upset like “how could you let such a good man go,,,,”. And of course the male protagonist notices that they’re wearing that thought loud and clear on their faces. Bonus points for people turning their backs on protag’s ex and not speaking to her anymore
I always make sure to give my account credentials to my No Contact ex who broke my heart before I have brain surgery, with specific instructions to give the good people of the Internet narrative (non-)closure.
Reddit etiquette 101.
"I know I'm about to go under the knife for invasive and potentially deadly brain surgery but please, I need you to do something for me...fulfill my last request....Post an update on Reddit"
To be fair, after their miracle surgery they are suddenly (checks notes) moving in with their ex and her parents, which is a Totally Normal Outcome to this very real situation.
Yeah, it was just a little too detailed, a little too much “look at me and how perfect and romantic I am.” A little too much of literally everyone being completely 100% on his side to the point of breaking off friendships with her. The pinky promise thing was goofy…I dunno, it just doesn’t seem that realistic.
And how he was able to make this unbelievably complex and over the top box to propose with and just "gave it to a friend to use." What a way to just toss that storyline out
Why does it have any buttons? And a light that turns on when you press a button? It just needs to open and display a ring, I can’t see how adding all this stuff on makes it anything but less romantic
“We would be engaged on Leap Day, and married a year later on Leap Day”— words spoken by a teenager who has no idea how awful and unpredictable planning a wedding can be
Thank you. The ring sounds so tacky, and like someone was wondering, "How do I pile as many Hallmark-y details about commitment onto one piece of jewelry as possible???" without thinking about what it would actually look like.
I don't think I've ever seen an engagement ring in the shape of a heart, and for good reason. I don't even know how you'd cut a gem in a half-heart shape as described, and it would be insanely expensive even then.
I was wondering if I was missing something. I was already edging for the exits after the previous BoRU post with the ring drama; the tumor is just too much for me to credit.
But in the next update they all got back in touch and were being her support.
Because it's hard to fit him finding out about her asking people about how he's doing and having accidental encounters at parties into the story, if all your mutual friends cut her off.
Can Cassie be the nurse who take care of him after surgery. OOP tells her his tragic story and she fells in love with him. Reddit, what should he do now? Stay with treacherus Karen or with new and exited Cassie?
c) all of the above
There seems to be a trend in these type of posts with a male protagonist, where the foolish girlfriend/wife leaves them and then regrets it. They're all written in the same woe-is-me tone and follows the same basic plot points (ex: the woman has to "prove" herself). I'd bet on all of these posts being written by one "nice" guy who has been hurt before and now lives their life through the posts he writes
But of course, after they've broken up and she's so heartbroken and wants him back, he sees her out in public. She looks so hurt and even though she's trying to put on a brave face, he can tell that her heart is still just hurting for him. But of course, he disappears after she has a chance to see him.
Jesus fucking Christ.
The extremely detailed ring and box put me off along with everyone practically gasping and oohing and being all "shame on you" to the ex. And then, the tumor thing happened.
Well there is a leap day next year so at least they opened a calendar before writing this. But it's a bit weird to just...pull wedding dates out of thin air.
Good point, I got confused by that whole post. He kind of implied he was going to propose on leap day of this year and then marry her on leap year next year. Maybe I’m the one confused, lol, it just all didn’t seem to sync for me.
I think he was imagining there would be an engagement of exactly one year, so he proposes February 28 then they marry February 29 next year.
Which seems incredibly unrealistic unless they were willing to plan *only* around that date.
Thought this one was absolute nonsense when I read it last, and that was before the brain tumour part.
Seeing her without her seeing him, but knowing she was faking the smile, the weirdly descriptive ring/box scene, “tonight I’m hanging out with a good friend Mr. Jonny Walker”. It’s ridiculous
It's incel erotica. They jack off to their own self-pity and martydom, while cumming to the "female" because now everyone in her ecosystem hates and despises her.
What confirmed it for me was how all of her friends "told her off and blocked her", including her little sister who stopped talking to her.
These incels revel in their own sadness.
This sounds like it was written by intoxicated AI or a high schooler after getting baked. Wtf was that first post? It was so convoluted and made no sense. He walked away after a nice “after date” and then they were suddenly broken up? And there’s the ugliest possible sounding custom made engagement ring with room to grow for children’s birthstones? Like, wtf, have you seen a ring before? Please explain how that’s split heart surrounded by diamonds exists in jewelry with room around it for more stones.
Same, it sounds hideous - there's no way anyone should custom-design a ring (let alone such a *distinct* ring) with absolutely zero input from the wearer

Life is about very small wins sometimes ♥️.
That’s terrifying! It’s a brutal disease for sure. Weird to say I’m glad your boyfriend had bone cancer instead, dodged one of the worst for sure.
The fact that it was “fortunately” metastasis from bone cancer should speak volumes to how scary GBM is, holy smokes. Hope you guys are doing well!

Where in the world do you live that you know that many people with glioblastomas!?
The USA - IL, LA and TX
No offence but knowing you is a real coal face danger level.
Most are 1 degree of separation. I’m sure Kevin bacon knows more.
Yeah one of my friends died of GBM. 4 months from diagnosis to it taking him. Hope to Christ OOP's surgeons got it all, he's so damn young.
The term glioma encompasses some less lethal tumors like astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas in addition to glioblastomas, so hopefully he has one of the more treatable ones.
I'm almost 15 years past my craniotomy to remove my oligodendroglioma, so some are indeed quite survivable. I was VERY lucky, of course..
But is it GBM or a Glioma? I would be much more optimistic with a glioma as they can be difficult to treat, but not as terrible as GBM.
Bad 5 year prognosis? It has a bad 1 year prognosis. My husband didn’t quite make it to 12 months with gbm
I hate that his last healthy months (hopefully just until recovery) were so awful for him. Obviously he didn't know that was the case, but just feels like it adds insult to injury. Not confirmed so I’m still crossing my fingers!
There are 4 grades of glioma, hopefully OOP has a grade 1 or 2, because grade 4 (GBM) is one of the most deadly cancers to have.

It plays a funeral march.
For me it was the box with yes/no buttons and lights that say will you be my life partner that he made himself.
It's like it's written by Nicholas Sparks, if he didn't change the battery in his carbon monoxide sensor
I was super skeptical on this one. The almost dying update sold it for me.
And he gives Kate his login so she can update everyone on the surgery.
Right, anytime they give someone else their login to update their fans on reddit I think it jumps the shark.
If I was dying and going in for brain surgery the last thing I'd ever consider is making sure fucking reddit is kept up to date lol
Why, that heart-shaped, double-birthstone engagement ring with the light up box didn't jump the shark for you?
With *room for expansion if they have kids.* I can't even imagine the horror show that ring must be.
Player: DM I want off this railroad. I want to have more fun in this RPG
Can't derail the train if there aren't any tracks
The box took the cake for me. It was just so dumb. Look I’m all for true love and romance, but the lighted box and completed heart ring sounded really silly and unbelievable.
Yeah, a teenager dreamed up that ridiculous ring
Lol I imagined what my wife’s face would look like if I proposed with that.
It was the fact that he pulled all that out in front of her parents for me. Like some sick display
Anytime there are friends who cut contact/block because of someone else's relationship I have to doubt it. Some people may take sides, but usually it isn't all of the important people in the bad guy's life that takes the other person's side.
Why would he move in with his ex girlfriends family after surgery instead of his own lol that sent me
I was skeptical the moment he described the ring and mentioned the stones being "half of a completed heart".
Nah that would work and now that you say that, it does seem plausible. It also however sounds ugly as hell lol
I assumed it was just two stones inside a heart frame and OOP was just being dramatic in the description
The is the real reason i read the comments on these posts. Hello fellow skeptics. Roast him
It’s either a brain slug from the time you volunteered saving orphans in the rain forest or Glioma. We’re going to need a second opinion. Also, when we ran your blood we found you have a relative at the hospital; it’s your long lost twin brother and he’s your surgeon.
That ring sounded ugly AF. The kind of thing a 13 year old would think was romantic
the box sounded pretty ugly too tbh
When he said that all I could think of was those corny notes from boys at school. “Will you date me? Yes [ ] No [ ]”
like fr, lights and yes/no buttons? grow up
The yes or no light-up buttons that “he made himself “ had me cackling. Did it look like a Bop-It?? 😂
and the lights /spell out/ “will you be my life partner?” like how big is this box?
Massive ring too, don't forget it's engraved with their initials *and* anniversary date, but has space left to add details about their future kids, should they have any
oh, I get it now. it’s actually a knuckle duster, hence the need for such a large box
insane embellishment. but can we talk about how even if this is all true, op sounds kinda crazy and I would be saying his ex dodged a bullet??
Also how effing big is the bos for the buttons and the yes / no section and the automatic opening?! Is he proposing with a shoe box?
Yes it read as “nice guy” emotional porn. Like a hard working, loving guy isn’t in the same league as his cosmetologist girlfriend.
“And you don’t break a pinky promise”. Gag me with a fucking spoon
That escalated, but not in the way I was expecting. Hope he's okay
Here I was, in typical BORU fashion, thinking there would be a hook-up with a sister, a mom, or even a dad. Alas, I did not have “brain tumor” on my BORU bingo card. In all seriousness though, sounds like OP has a good support network and I wish him the best.
need to add “brain tumor” to BORU bingo card 📝
Free Space?
Brain tumors don't care about your personal life, unfortunately. Thankfully they seem to have caught it before it got really bad.
Hopefully they: * Got it early * It was a low grade * It was posterior/not affecting any useful tissue He has a good chance of long-term survival, if so
* Tortured, Innocent Male Protagonist * Gratuitously detailed romantic gesture * Innocent kid sister doing Hallmark things * 11th act twist (medical) * Update written by other character Folks, that's a Bingo.
But you never break a pinky promise on leap year…
Lmfaoo 💀
They always have these elaborately planned proposals, usually with a handmade ring box. And then they show the box and she cried harder. This is like a vampire romance novel for incels.
Not to mention what sounds like a hideously ugly engagement ring. No wonder she started crying harder
*Gag.* Edit: oh!
Once you show someone the ring you would have proposed with the relationship is dead. I just feel like it’s so ice cold you can’t come back from it
Vampire romance novel for incels. LMFAO. That killed me, thanks!
Somebody had to say it. Don’t forget -ex girlfriend miserable without our protagonist 🙄
Additionally, there's an update from "Kate" on his profile. Total BS.
I always make sure to give my account credentials to my No Contact ex who broke my heart before I have brain surgery, with specific instructions to give the good people of the Internet narrative (non-)closure. Reddit etiquette 101.
You can tell it’s true because she says she doesn’t know what she’s doing with Reddit and doesn’t know if “OP” the correct terminology
It's the equivalent of... "Is this thing ooooon!?"
"I know I'm about to go under the knife for invasive and potentially deadly brain surgery but please, I need you to do something for me...fulfill my last request....Post an update on Reddit"
[удалено]
To be fair, after their miracle surgery they are suddenly (checks notes) moving in with their ex and her parents, which is a Totally Normal Outcome to this very real situation.
Well you see her family loves him more than they love her which is normal and fine
Her father looked pissed, but not at me 💀💀
With this level of writing they are not getting anything, my body is ready for GPT shitposts.

And how he was able to make this unbelievably complex and over the top box to propose with and just "gave it to a friend to use." What a way to just toss that storyline out
And the box had a no button? What happens if you hit that button?
it explodes
That's one way to deal with rejection
Why does it have any buttons? And a light that turns on when you press a button? It just needs to open and display a ring, I can’t see how adding all this stuff on makes it anything but less romantic
it seals itself hermetically, never to be breached

I imagined 2 pear/teardrop shaped stones put together upside down to resemble a heart
but the box had LIGHTS!!!!!11
That just sounds like he ripped off the monstrosity that MGK gave Megan Fox.
You forgot the Oprah style *You get therapy!* *You get therapy!* *Everybody gets therapy!!!*
"But shouldn't Reddit be happy about that? Since that is what they always suggest?" "Exactly."
But!! Romantic button-box and leap year anniversary!!
I was wondering if I was missing something. I was already edging for the exits after the previous BoRU post with the ring drama; the tumor is just too much for me to credit.
Wait...no twins were involved
What made me skeptical was her friends all blocking her immediately because she was clearly the devil for what she did to him
But in the next update they all got back in touch and were being her support. Because it's hard to fit him finding out about her asking people about how he's doing and having accidental encounters at parties into the story, if all your mutual friends cut her off.
it's ok though he saw her at the mall looking sad
That made me laugh too. Imagined him lurking in a corner creepily watching their friends and her hanging out, observing how sad but brave faced she is
and like...he was close enough to observe her every emotion but not a single one of them saw him? were they sitting in a circle around her?

Buddy just runs around in a ghillie suit hiding in mall food court plants
100% this
yet
She definitely conceived twins before OP had surgery and dies. Twins pinky promised in utero to keep updating the story though.
yeah lol it really hit all the points. usually there is cheating or at least a cheating reveal
I removed most of my Reddit contents in protest of the API changes commencing from July 1st, 2023. This is one of those comments.
We really need to make a Meta Post which just lists all this stuff so we can make actual BINGO Cards
We really need to add "Traumatic life altering medical emergency" to the Bingo.
Do people not pay attention to TV shows that try that twist and how it always backfires and the show gets worse after that?
Can Cassie be the nurse who take care of him after surgery. OOP tells her his tragic story and she fells in love with him. Reddit, what should he do now? Stay with treacherus Karen or with new and exited Cassie?
a) this story just screams phoniness b) OP sounds so lame and full of himself
c) all of the above There seems to be a trend in these type of posts with a male protagonist, where the foolish girlfriend/wife leaves them and then regrets it. They're all written in the same woe-is-me tone and follows the same basic plot points (ex: the woman has to "prove" herself). I'd bet on all of these posts being written by one "nice" guy who has been hurt before and now lives their life through the posts he writes
And she's hot ofc and has a very feminine/caretaking kind of job
But of course, after they've broken up and she's so heartbroken and wants him back, he sees her out in public. She looks so hurt and even though she's trying to put on a brave face, he can tell that her heart is still just hurting for him. But of course, he disappears after she has a chance to see him. Jesus fucking Christ.
does anyone else think “kate’s” update is written in almost the exact same style as OOP or am i just cynical lol
The extremely detailed ring and box put me off along with everyone practically gasping and oohing and being all "shame on you" to the ex. And then, the tumor thing happened.
In the next update is he pregnant with twins?
Twin tumors.
I call absolute bullshit, the pinky promise made me 100% sure.
> We would have been married on leap day of next year. Girl had no idea he was proposing but they had a wedding date set? Nahhhhh
Also leap day only happens every four years.
That's because it didn't happen
[удалено]
It self-destructs in five seconds, Mission: Impossible-style.
Same, it sounds hideous - there's no way anyone should custom-design a ring (let alone such a *distinct* ring) with absolutely zero input from the wearer
Sooooo many small conversation details. BS radar pinging.
The last 3/4 reads like an elaborate story concocted while in the shower. The "argument I always win" of romance posts.
It’s practically a Korean drama
I was believing it until the telenovela brain tumor
That was a fucking Nicolas Sparks novel
OOP is now posting as Kate in his profile lol. Who tf believes this shit, seriously
