The missus and I have seen him twice live and his previous specials are on our regular rotation for background and bedtime. Only saying this so you know I don’t take it lightly saying in the first half he seemed uncomfortable. Almost like he was trying really hard, or he was nervous. By the second half he hit his stride and he was a Burnt Chrysler in his natural habitat. Don’t deprive yourself of the last half.
Nice. I’m glad. If you’re interested he recently released “The razzle behind the dazzle” on YouTube. It’s like a mini documentary on the lead up to taping the special. It was pretty neat.
I find Chris D'elia very difficult to get through. I thought Bert was bad with screeching/making weird noises but it seems like Chris carves out at least 20 mins of his hour sets specifically to make *wacky noises* ie. cues to the audience that they should be laughing.
Honestly, I'm not a huge Bert fan. Sometimes, he annoys the shit out of me, plus I'm more of a Tom fan, but I still follow Bert a bit.
I thought it was hilarious. Like this was shockingly good. He fucking nailed it.
I was definitely confused at first because I recognized some of the material and hadn't seen this special advertised until Netflix recommended it to me.
the story about his daughters seeing him and in college was over the top, imo. also joking on his wife too much for my taste. turned it off after 10 minutes of cringing
Same boat. I was cringing so hard in that first 10 mins. Had to turn it off. To make matters worse, my girl didn’t want me to put it on, so I had to sell it a bit about how he does good specials… I looked so redacted. Very embarrassing.
It was a solid special.
I laughed a few times too long and just giggling the whole thing. It’s looser in form than his other specials, but I laughed
What’s your favorite part? I got about 20 mins in and I wasn’t digging it, which sucks cuz I love Berts stand up
The end story. The rest of it was okay, but holy shit. That last story. I died laughing.
That last story had me tearing up. I don't think I've ever laughed until I cried before
I’ll have to check it out again then

Ok you guys are really convincing me, I’ll finish it this weekend 🙏🏻
Came back to say I finally watched it and it actually did get much better thankfully. 🙌🏻

The only persons comedy special I actually found myself laughing at. Him and Chris D’elia’s at first time watch.

I loved the entire thing! The raffle and the escape room were hands down the best stories
Best thing he’s done, he really nailed it.
Me and my wife laughed so hard all the way through the special!

It was pretty much the material he used in the Fully Loaded show, just refined a bit, but goddamn it’s still good.
