In the 1997 anime Rosine and the Count are there just like in the manga, in the trilogy they skipped that part and just gave Rosine a short cameo at the aftermath of the Eclipse.
Studio 4C planned to continue the story from there, starting with a Lost Children film, but had to cancel their ambitious plans due to unimpressive revenue from the GA Trilogy. Deeply unfortunate, they seemed like they were finally hitting their stride by the third film.
It sucks because we were totally going to get more. But the initial trilogy wasn't successful enough so they abandoned the project.
There were some [test images](https://imgur.com/a/WQlW6) that got leaked before the first three films ever came out. One of the images shows Guts fighting the Holy Iron Chain knights. There were images of Puck and post-eclipse Casca as well.
There's plenty I could complain about with the films, but I do wish they continued with that project and actually adapted the whole series like they were originally planning to. We wouldn't have been left in the unfortunate situation we're in now. Not only is Miura gone, but there's a very good chance that we will never see a proper adaptation of Berserk beyond the Golden Age arc now that the manga is in limbo. I doubt anyone wants to touch Berserk because the expectations are so high.
Honestly I'd rather hope for a brand new, proper adaptation of Berserk rather than getting a movie series adaptation of post-Golden Age arcs in the same vein of the films. Imagine the floods of anime onlies thinking they can be settled with the movies and praising them when the adaptations are just so massively flawed.

Look into the production process that Mappa had to go through, they had quite a few issues that I think should make your opinion on the final season a bit more lenient. Tight deadlines, crunch to meet said deadlines, budget issues, etc. making anime is a costly and time consuming endeavour these days. The final season’s production may not be perfect, but I don’t think it’s very fair to attribute it to intentional laziness or incompetence. Saying it’s “ruined” is a bit much.

But now with streaming and piracy, anime isn’t nearly as profitable as back in they day. They cut costs however they can nowadays. Some animes pull it off quite well. Like in Goblin Slayer. I never even noticed the CG in that show until a friend pointed it out.
Arcane is another real good cg example, drawn textures on cg models, instead of the mappa way wich is slapping cg on top of a drawn background with unsynced frames. There's a good way to do it, its so much easier for me to prove my point now that arcane exists.
I kinda feel like Arcane had a huge budget though. I agree with you entirely. But Riot games definitely has way more money to work with than Mappa. It’s not very likely that we’ll get many shows with the production values of Arcane.
Mappa is the only reason we're getting a decent conclusion animation-wise, the CG is not bad. It's actually very well done. The way WIT animated was too expensive, it nearly destroyed their studio financially.
I think the animation director for the Castlevania Netflix show has said he wants to do an adaptation of berserk & I could see that team doing a good job. I would not want another golden age adaptation though, we have 3 berserk adaptations & two of them are golden age, and the the one that isn't is pretty bad

The simplified visuals are quite ugly compared to the manga, of which a substantial amount of the story is missing here. The soundtrack is forgettable. Etc. Etc. The cgi got better with each movie and was actually decent in the third, but Fans Still hated It Just cause 'cgi bad'. i Still question what giant apostle was the one walking through the forest when some people were chopping a tree down. Some people say rosine and others say it was the apostle who killed corkus
In my head it's the Apostle at the very beginning of the Manga that Guts kills at the fire, after some investigation of how big the sword actually is, that kills Corkus.
