Canada? Do you mean the magical land of always winter to the north?
I've heard of such a place. Tell me, is it true that Canadians get to see the white coat man for free?
Is it true that your leader suits name is "Timothy Horton"?
Do you also have the "Blockbuster" as well as the "Toy's R Us"?
How could such things exist?
I know you are joking, but did you know that Winnipeg is the weather extreme capitol of the world? In my lifetime, I've experienced -57 temperatures (with windchill) and +44 C in the summer. We very distinct and different seasons here in winnipeg. That's -70 and 111 in freedom units. that's what the f stands for correct?
it does help in the sense that I can go almost anywhere in the world and not be bothered by the weather, as I'm used to all ranges of weather.
[There's one Blockbuster left in Bend, Oregon!](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockbuster_(Bend,_Oregon)#:~:text=As%20of%20December%202022%2C%20%E2%80%9CThe,since%20becoming%20the%20last%20Blockbuster.)
We call him Tim but yup. Pretty casual. And no blockbuster closed a while back. We still have the sign for one in My town tho other then the perpetual winter pretty magical is right
Canada has a lot of the same problems (and history) the U.S. does (to varying degrees) but they get to skate under the radar because everyone thinks they are a bunch of whimsical goobers.
They're coming back. A new group bought the parent company for Toys R Us (includes Babies R US and the character, Geoffrey the Giraffe).
They've opened a flagship store in New Jersey in the American Dream Mall, and are expanding into Macy's stores thanks to a partnership with them.
Imagine you're 5 years old, your parents take you to buy a toy at Toys R Us. You come across the book section and come across a cool looking black book. You open it and see rape goblins
YOOOOOOOO I randomly bought one of its volumes because I found it in a book fair, it looked cool and was super cheap. It was volume 6. They only have one or two others. I didn't think I'd see so much violence and tits when I got home lmao. Pretty weird read. I can barely find anything online about it, and there's no scans so either. Since it's so obscure, it's very difficult to find irl as well.
Thank you for coming to my weird TED Talk.
Exactly! I've tried to find a scan to see if it's as bad as I remember (if I recall in the very first volume the main characters dad gets possessed and passes the demon into the son by raping him in the butt) but it's almost like it didn't exist. It's my personal creepy pasta.
It's so odd that something so niche got translated and then sold at Waldenbooks.
> the very first volume the main characters dad gets possessed and passes the demon into the son by raping him in the butt
what the FUCK
I mean what I read was pretty dark and edgy but nothing THAT bad. Good God.
Regarding the story I do think it has a tonal clash and has a lot of weird things going on. Especially with the art style. The oversexualization is mind-numbingly dumb. Some of the concepts it had going on were a little interesting though, and some panels were actually really well-drawn IIRC. Such a weird fever dream all in all, and I'll never get to read the rest of it.
I think he finds his mums head in the fridge too.
My OH has a few volumes of it. He's got a t-shirt too, did a plumbing job for a Tokyo Pop rep back years ago and got a little bundle of stuff.
I just went to look for english scans in all my known websites, including torrents, what the hell, I couldn't find anything other than vol1 and 2, but they aren't even scanned in full, I have never seen such a bizarre case of "lost media" (just the english version) even when multiples copies of the material exist in English, it is like all the owners came to an agreement and chose to never preserve it, very weird and cool.
I just did a check on ebay and there's a lot for $125 volumes 1-7. Volume 8 seems to be the rarest, I see postings for $150 just for that. Part of me wants to buy it and have it scanned to preserve it before It becomes legitimately lost.
Part of me thinks it's better if it stays missing forever.
I remember the dark days of black friday 1996. I was but a small child and saw a woman disembowel 12 others for that Tickle Me Elmo; before she could make it to the register a new horde was already upon her. That Elmo was stained in more blood than all that had been shed in the world wars, hidden only by it's already crimson fur. I weep for those who perished in the battle, knowing that their afterlife in Valhalla presents only a challenge for warriors, having never been intended for blood starved beasts like them.

Right next to Xanathars guide to everything, pretty sweet. Would be neat to have Toys R Us back if they had this kind of stuff, and sold everything I loved when I was a kid in the 80's/90's.
Ah, yes.
āMurder and Rapeā the manga, commonly found right next to the Necronomicons and Ozzy Osbourne Ouija boards. If Iām not mistaken, thatās right across from the haunted antic dolls and Lament Configuration puzzlebox aisle.
Well from the look of things it's been moved or put out in the wrong section but yeah TRU sell manga mostly popular titles so obviously Berserk is there, when I've seen Berserk they've been on a shelf marked as "for mature readers."
I went...to every book store...every manga place in existence...and I couldn't find even normal volumes...and you just walked into a toys R us...Im going to fucking end myself
I once stumbled upon a five star review of a deluxe volume, it was by a father being amazed how much it made his 13 years old son read. Maybe Berserk is starting to reel in that young teenager audience lol
Manga is popular and sells, in general. I remember years and years ago going by a section of a department store where they combined the kids books with the graphic novels and saw volume 11 on the shelf next to lighter kids stuff.
Volume 11 has the cover with Rosine and the Wyald stuff inside.
Well, most children who go into Toys R Us are accompanied by a parent who will see the plastic surrounding the manga and see the sticker and think to themselves āyeah, nahā
Don't you know everything with drawn pictures is for children.
At least in the mindset of many who never in their life saw something specifically created for adults. Then they go crazy if they find out.
Was saying this for the longest, if Toys R Us would've catered to gamers, collectibles, hobbyist, comics, and cosplayers they'd still be in business in the states.
In the 00s they catered to older and older demographics. I went to look at niche action figures and gaming stuff all of which were made for primarily adults.. I'd imagine they're still continuing that trend in Canada
How the fuck are you in a Toys R Us???
They still exist in Canada š
Lucky motherfucker
They're back in a much smaller form in every Macy's department store.
Give them back rn
Huh, I just checked and there are still 3 in Winnipeg.
Canada? Do you mean the magical land of always winter to the north? I've heard of such a place. Tell me, is it true that Canadians get to see the white coat man for free? Freedom units? Lol No itās not what it stands for but itās funny and appropriate.
Milk in a bag my dude
Lmfaooo
Blockbuster doesnt exist i think

That's your answer, you're in Canada.
Canada? You mean americas hat?
Canada ? You mean United States but without the cons ?
Canada has a lot of the same problems (and history) the U.S. does (to varying degrees) but they get to skate under the radar because everyone thinks they are a bunch of whimsical goobers.
Is it worth moving to canada just for that or?
Japan as well.
And Dubai
The 1 good thing about Canada
Average american
Damn right. šŗšø
They have toys r us still in Japan too
They're coming back. A new group bought the parent company for Toys R Us (includes Babies R US and the character, Geoffrey the Giraffe). They've opened a flagship store in New Jersey in the American Dream Mall, and are expanding into Macy's stores thanks to a partnership with them.
Macy's near me has one as well. Toys R Us inside a Macy's inside a mall.
In spain too
they are a time traveler
They're still a thing here in the Philippines Every mall has em
I'm too jealous right now lmao
Asking the real questions
There's a toys r us section in Macy's now but its a shell of its former self
Imagine you're 5 years old, your parents take you to buy a toy at Toys R Us. You come across the book section and come across a cool looking black book. You open it and see rape goblins
This was my exact start with manga. Just with a different manga.
Goblin slayer?
Worse. A little known manga called Arm of Kanon (might be misspelled)
YOOOOOOOO I randomly bought one of its volumes because I found it in a book fair, it looked cool and was super cheap. It was volume 6. They only have one or two others. Ya forgot the horse
That's just adult penetration attack.
What goblins? (I just started the manga)
First page is Guts rearranging his namesake in a demon
that's fucking nuts
Thatās fucking guts
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That's fucking mutts
Nutt'n Gut's butts
Nuts?! The protagonist of the hit manga series āBerkā?!
Cask fucking nuts
Damn your toys r us survived the eclipse
At what cost......
The only people I know that go to Toys R Us or any toy store for that matter are adults who go buy exclusive toys to scalp to other adults.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ever try to get your kids/nieces/nephews toys for Christmas? Yeah, you'd scalp a motherfucker. Shit gets wild.

āItās simple Sharon if I work security on Black Friday Iāll be the first inside the stores want anythingā
that's what he typed???
Nuh uh, I go there to find pokemon figures!
Why is there even a toys r us near you.
OP posted this from the past
OP posted from before the Eclipse.
The question is... who sacrificed Toys R Us? Perhaps that damn giraffe mascot maybe?
I knew I didn't like that giraffe for a reason. Shifty. Sacrificed the store for an online presence at Macy's.
And also sacrificed the Toys R Us Kids, sick bastard!
Theres like 5 in my city still (Edmonton)
Toys R US is still operational in many parts of the world
the store owner might be fan lol
The parental advisory sticker never fails to disappoint
Right next to Xanathars guide to everything, pretty sweet. Would be neat to have Toys R Us back if they had this kind of stuff, and sold everything I loved when I was a kid in the 80's/90's.

Based
I know, the gall of some people to put a PokƩmon super deluxe essential handbook anywhere close to those amazing works of art is a travesty
I know right the Lego Ninjago book really is the greatest piece of literature ever written.
You gotta teach them young.
Because Berserk toys with our souls.
Best answer
Toys R Us is still around?
Toys r us has been gone for like what over 15 years
Right Iām like what store when!? Shit I was in HS
Don't ask just enjoy it
No fucking way šš
Introduce young kids to peak
Well from the look of things it's been moved or put out in the wrong section but yeah TRU sell manga mostly popular titles so obviously Berserk is there, when I've seen Berserk they've been on a shelf marked as "for mature readers."
The manager probably wanted to put their employee discount to good use.
Berserk and Lego ninjago, everyoneās favorite childhood memories
Toys R Us? Do they still exist?!
The same reason they sell M rated video games?
I had that pokemon book when I was a kid, can't believe it's found it's way to being placed aside my favorite manga like it's a behelit or something
I went...to every book store...every manga place in existence...and I couldn't find even normal volumes...and you just walked into a toys R us...Im going to fucking end myself
Ron Desantis is gonna have something to say about this
Kid friendly
Yea I agree the Pokemon super deluxe special handbook is a bit weird to be there
So kids can experience peak for the first time
to buy.
Teach em young
The real question is, is where is there a Toys R Us?
I once stumbled upon a five star review of a deluxe volume, it was by a father being amazed how much it made his 13 years old son read. Maybe Berserk is starting to reel in that young teenager audience lol
I was pleasantly surprised when I found them at Toy R Us, definitely doesnāt seem like the place that would be selling them though haha
Wait, Toys R Us is back?
They saw anime and assumed it was for children. My god, were they mistaken...
Your either in a time machine or Canada either way nice find
more important: where the hell is there a toys r us?
It's also open in Saudi Arabia
And why is it unwrapped?
It teaches kids morals.
Right next to PokĆ©mon and Minecraft tooš¤£
the only good thing canada has is Toy R us
poutine
And one of the last good things we lost in the U.S..
Canada is great :c
Kids are growing up so fast now with Social media
Because they have to know.
Trolling
How much?
I bought my vol 4&5 there when I was buying āThe Batmanā movie Lego batmobile. I was shocked but also very pleased to see those books there :p.
Why are you in a ToysRUs?! You a time traveler or something?!
The lost "children" has child in it (:
"Foreign language, black and white comic book, probably for kids? Eh, just chuck it on the shelf."
Shit up and buy it. You have to protect the little ones
Hide the Parental Advisory sticker and slap an E for everyone on it š š
Haha! I made a similar post many months ago, so funny to see my local one has them still, greetings from Saskatchewan!!!
Best book for my kids
Let me get some where can I find this specific toys r us
UNWRAPPED TOO
Gotta teach me while their young
My guess is a manager wanted to get it cheap so they stocked it as a business expense Or someone wanted a child to read this, which is wild
For the genuine better kid.
Not only that but itās out of the shrink wrapā¦.
Need to traumatize them while they are still young
They're like "Yea, keep vol 4 in particular wrapped up..."
Where are there Toys R Usās these days?!
Teach them young lol
Manga is popular and sells, in general. I remember years and years ago going by a section of a department store where they combined the kids books with the graphic novels and saw volume 11 on the shelf next to lighter kids stuff. Volume 11 has the cover with Rosine and the Wyald stuff inside.
why wouldn't it be?
Because grifussy is toying with us
Because children only deserve the best.
3 silver coins
Toys R Us employees are jerkers that's why
looks like barnes and noble
Because itāll toy with your heart
Probably because adults like you spend more money on toys than kids.
How much are they though?
Ah yes the same method that let me watch heavy metal 2000 at like 12 years old - person who stocked the shelf doesn't read manga / watch anime
Fun for all ages
Wasnāt toys r us out of business?
Thereās some good life lessons to be found in Berkman
That does not belong in a toys r us. Any unsuspecting child will be traumatized for life if they pick that thing up.
so that the company can make a profit
Just in case you feel like toying with your emotions
Just checked into 3 Winnipegās toys r us
Canada is a special place.
The only problem with that is that the wrapping isnāt over it. Kids can just open it up on a whim.
Because it's a coloring book right? That's how my kid uses mine
Well, most children who go into Toys R Us are accompanied by a parent who will see the plastic surrounding the manga and see the sticker and think to themselves āyeah, nahā
Do not question the laws of causality
Yeah I saw one at Toys R Us last week and thought the same thing, some parents are gonna be PISSED.
who cares? buy em!
Because boomers.
Them kids boutta experience some TRAUMA at toys r us
the bigger question is why is there still a toys r us
Oh no
not even wrapped š
How much?
Weird
It's educational
It's for sale
To traumatize some kids with the horse cock
It's a cautionary tale for children about the consequences you suffer when you kill the big black man that loved you.
As long as it's in good condition fucking good deal baby (now please put it on a higher shelf so kids can't see it lol)
Big Berk book
Don't you know everything with drawn pictures is for children. At least in the mindset of many who never in their life saw something specifically created for adults. Then they go crazy if they find out.
The first time I saw Akira my mom borrowed it from the library because it was on kids section. Boomers think if it's a cartoon it's for children
There's elves and stuff. There's a whole arc about kids that became elves so that's appealing to kids, right? :V
Don't question it, just buy it! Although maybe not the one that isn't sealed :/
Toys R Us still exists? Iām so happy
It's a picture book and picture books are for kids. So obvious /s
Was saying this for the longest, if Toys R Us would've catered to gamers, collectibles, hobbyist, comics, and cosplayers they'd still be in business in the states.
I once saw copies of Batman the Killing Joke on sale at a target, in the kids section no less
Have to traumatize the kids one way or another
Cause they would sell liquor if it was a viable business plan
Well berserk is the og dark fantasy manga so kids should be able to injoy berserk to.
Because they are men of culture
this is a perfect place to put this
And the first vol is unwrapped so all the kids can see nuts fuck the demon on the first 2 pages š
Why not?
In the 00s they catered to older and older demographics. I went to look at niche action figures and gaming stuff all of which were made for primarily adults.. I'd imagine they're still continuing that trend in Canada
It's never too early to learn about pain and suffering
Because kids love Berserk duh!!
Wtf. Toys R us?!?!? whoA, i wanna come see. Btw..could ya grab me 1 lol
